Wonderfully. Friendly Experience 12/17/2019

My experence at Kindred Bay Area has been amazing. The people are very friendly. The staff have been very friendly especially Nurse Pam, Tech Mayola, and Tech Vivian. They went above and beyond what was required. They made sure I got everything I needed and I didn't have to ask for it. Amanda was awesome also. Armando in Rehab department is great and very helpful as was as all physical therapy staff. Respiratory therapy was great. Cindy, Amy, and Laura that worked on the weekends were really helpful. Wound Care employee Lauren is a character!! She took great care of me and was very helpful. She kept me laughing. Mrs. Fun the Dietician was very sweet. She was on vacation and upon her return she checked in on me, I thought that was very sweet. The Quality of food was excellent. You would not have known it was hospital food. Dr. Patel is a very good doctor. He runs a tight ship. It's easier to listen to him, rather than argue. He really wants the best for his patients. Dr. Syed the pulmonologist is very good. He got all my lung issues under control and answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand. This hospital was clean and the housekeepers did a great job at kepting my room clean. I would really recommend Kindred Hospital Bay Area to anyone in this area that needs specialized care. The team here does a great job and shows great consideration and care for their patients. I really appreciate you all for helping me to continue moving forward in pursuing a healthier future. Thank you all so much! more

Excellent care 12/3/2019

I am very familiar with this facility and the great staff that works here. I've had several admissions throughout the years and this last one was the best one yet! The Wound Care team brought me back to life, I was really sick when I went it and they did everything possible to make sure I was healed. The nurses and CNAs all gave great care! Never had more than a 10 minute wait if I needed anything. Felix, RN, was a top star employee every day and I'm glad I got to know him. Even the cafeteria was a big improvement during this stay, my appetite was on and off during my stay but they always made me special sandwiches for late night snacks. Thanks again TEAM for taking great care of me. Mr. E. Stanley. more

great facility 9/16/2019

Kindred Bay Area was just what I needed to continue healing from an infection and I highly recommend them. The referral to admit to this hospital came from a case manager and I'm definiltely pleased that she gave me the suggestion because the staff and physicians have been fantastic. I received daily physician visits from Dr. Dahu - who was very informative. Dr. Briggs was the Wound Care physician and was a God Send! He was able to save my foot and prevent the infection from getting worse by debreiding it, and even said I made a quick recovery for the type of infection I had. The Wound Care team took care of the rest and constantly made sure I was doing good, they even taught me how to properly care for wound, I'll continue Outpatient Wound Care therapy a few times a week to have my dressings changed. The women on that team definitely know what they are doing! The hospital is kept very clean and I had all the supplies I needed in my room at all times. I was even able to bring in my own 32" Tv and gaming system on a rolling cart into my room to help keep myself entertained throughout the day! I thought that was pretty cool that they let me do that. Overall all staff members were knowledgeable and kind but a few stood out to me.. Ann, night shift RN, and Pam, day shift RN.. they both had the best bedside manners and constantly explained things to me. Every time I was given medicine they would tell me what it was for, until I was able to recognize them on my own. The food wasn't too bad, even though I was on a reduced sodium diet, my parents thoroughly enjoyed the cafeteria food catered by Luby's. Kindred provided excellent care and service, thanks to all who helped me get back home! more

Great facility 9/12/2019

My brother was referred to this facility by his primary care physician, and although he does not practice here his recommendation was perfect for my brother's needs. Dr. Vyas was put on his case and kept us informed of all treatment plans. We were at three different facilities prior to the admission at Kindred and my brother made the most progress at this facility. We were able to get his infection cleared up and he was able to participate in therapy, which helped him tremendously. All the staff members were kind and our overall experience was excellent. My brother even ate better here than any of the other facilities, the food was so tasty to him. Nurses Pam and Tina were fabulous, Pam even took time out of her day to pray with us which we greatly appreciated. You can tell she genuinely cares for the patients. I highly recommend this facility! more

Second Family 8/23/2019

After being at this hospital for a month we are continuing Outpatient Wound Care Treatments and we have had nothing but positive experiences here. The staff became like a second family and we were blessed to have wonderful nurses, nurse aids and therapists! If we had to be read tired we definitely would not think twice about choosing this facility again. The hospital is thoroughly kept clean and sanitized by the housekeeping staff, which were all very nice as well. Family members could stay overnight if they desired and the nursing staff were just as accommodating to overnight visitors as they were to the patient. Vivian, Pam, Carol, and Roman went above and beyond with their Care and treatments. The Wound Care team is absolutely phenomenal, and they offer very advanced treatments, including a Hyperbaric Chamber which helps heal wounds. If anyone in the Pasadena area needs long term care, Kindred Bay Area is the best place you could possibly go to.Thank you all, The Haney Family more

Wound Care is fantastic 7/30/2019

I initially admitted to Kindred for Wound Care treatments, and the Wound Care team at this hospital is by far the most knowledgeable and courteous nurses. I want to personally recognize two nurses, one from the Wound Care department and the other from the Nursing Department.. Heather in Wound Care, and night shift RN, Bibi. These two special ladies have made my stay a pleasant one, even when some days of being stuck in a hospital are not the best.. They both go the extra mile and thoroughly explain everything to me... Whether it be the treatments they are providing, medications, or their own processes when caring for me and my wounds. They never leave my room until they are absolutely sure that I understand everything. As they are leaving my room, they always ask if I need anything else. You can definitely tell they truly care about their professions in the healthcare industry. It is so refreshing to know people still genuinely care as much as these two ladies do. Overall all of the staff members are great and polite but these ladies are phenomenal!! The rooms at this hospital are always kept very clean, thanks to the sweet ladies from housekeeping. I definitely recommend this hospital and would return if I needed more long term treatments in the future! Thank you all. more

Excellent hospital 7/29/2019

My husband has been a patient at Kindred Bay Area a few different times this year and we continually receive great care! Each nurse and tech that was assigned to us treated us with respect & kindness. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the hospital is kept exceptionally clean. The Wound Care and Rehab teams were amazing, and have even taught me a thing or two when caring for my husband once we are back home. We were always checked on and when I stayed overnight I was able to get a good night's rest because the nurses and techs were quiet when entering the room. We are very pleased with this hospital - would return if needed and would definitely recommend the facility to others. more

Good stay 7/2/2019

I was a patient here about two and a half years ago.. I always get good care here and will continue to return if needed. The Wound Care Team is absolutely phenomenal! I wouldn't trade them for the world, they were all so gentle with me, kind and friendly and made me feel so comfortable and took their time. Heather & Leona are fantastic! All of the floor nurse techs are friendly too. My favorite nurse is Toni. Also Chi Chi, Bibi and Ms. Mary were great, they engaged with me and held good conversations. I was able to get some good rest being here and am glad I received great care. more

Top Notch Facility 6/27/2019

We originally were told at our transferring facility that my husband would need skilled nursing care, but I knew he still needed to be seen by physicians daily so I began my own research on Kindred Hospital Bay Area. It was closer to our home and I had heard some great things about this hospital. I called the facility to explain our situation and verify if they took our insurance. After speaking with the intake department I knew this was definitely the place I wanted my husband to receive care at. The initial transfer wasn't as smooth as I had hoped for, but that wasn't Bay Area's fault.. we were being transferred to Kindred in Sugarland I believe because it was the closest Kindred to the hospital we were at. But then the Administrator herself, Tiffany, called me and asked if I wanted to go to Bay Area - I explained to her that Yes, I had done my own research and it was close to my home... she then apologized for the confusion, and made the transfer to KBA happen!! I felt so special that Tiffany personally called me, that is unheard of from a hospital. We were so thankful she did because the care we received was top notch! Our overall experience was awesome! They began aggressive therapy right away, which my husband responded to immediately and became more alert and within a few days he had made significant progress than compared to at the prior facility. Every staff member that worked with us was amazing, but especially Angela and Bernie in the ICU. The both of them comforted my family and affirmed that we picked the right hospital. Once we got out of ICU and moved up to the floor Llora (day shift) and Ann (night shift) went above and beyond to be very sweet and compassionate, they did more than I've ever had any nurses do for us and I am truly thankful they were able to care for my husband. Speech therapist Paul was fantastic and really helped with getting my husband to respond! I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hospital was to us.. our physicians were amazing as well- thank you all so much!! more

Overall experience is a 10 6/21/2019

My mom was transferred to Kindred from St. Luke's Patients hospital and has been receiving excellent care. Our overall experience has been a 10 here and we recommend anyone over to this facility. Along with the very good care, the atmosphere at Kindred in Pasadena is quiet and very clean. All nurses that have worked with us are all very helpful, professional and have servant attitudes. They are always well mannered and cleanly dressed. My mom's room is constantly stocked with supplies she needs and we never lack for anything. Mom receives dialysis treatments and Codi from the Dialysis team gives the best care for my mom. I'd like to personally thanks Jamie and Debbie with the Special Procedures team for providing gentle care and being so nice to us. Kindred Bay Area has exceeded our expectations! more

Will always return 6/13/2019

My husband and I absolutely love this hospital! Every staff member at this facility has been kind, compassionate, and loving towards us! This is our second admission here and when given the option to need long term care, we were certain we wanted to return to Kindred Bay Area in Pasadena. My husband needs wound car treatments and the whole team is phenomenal! Ms. Shelia and her team pay extra attention to detail and I even learned how to properly wrap my husband's wound to make cleaning it easier!! We love the food, and even visit from time to time just to eat since it is inexpensive, tasty and near our home.. plus we get to visit with all of the employees that have become like family. We love ALL of them, but a few of our favorites are: Shelia, Becky, Heather, Penny, BiBi, Eugenia, Emelda, Carol, Delila, Armando.. honestly too many to mention, but they are amazing and hard workers! Our physicians are exceptional as well, Dr. Dahu, Dr. Lee and Dr. Shah for outpatient wound care treatments. The physical therapy has kept my husband active, and I've even joined him with some exercises so that I can encourage and stay active with him. I will always recommend Kindred to anyone, and I will soon become a volunteer to keep this great group of people in our lives! Thanks so much for the hospitality and excellent care. Mr. & Mrs. Leija more

Same hospital, same great care 5/24/2019

I have been a patient at this hospital for over a week and I received excellent care. I originally chose to have treatments here because my father had been a patient himself nearly 7 years ago, and was given the same excellent care. My overall experience has been phenomenal and I would definitely recommend Kindred to all of my family and friends! The staff is open and communicates greatly with me, they always receive my questions and provide me with answers I'm able to understand. I came into this hospital hardly being able to stand on my own two feet, but with the help of the Physical Therapy team I am now able to move around on my own and walk great distances compared to before! I couldn't have done it without the help of Armando and Bea in the Rehab team, they encouraged me and were respectful of my daily limits. Paul was awesome too! The food... even though it is "hospital food" it had great flavor, sometimes my stomach couldn't hold heavy food items down, but the kitchen was able to compensate with extra portions of items I could keep down, which I am truly thankful for. All RNs and CNAs were great! My room was kept very clean during my stay here as well, which was nice. All in all Kindred Bay Area met all of my expectations and then some! more

Excellent service 5/22/2019

I originally selected Kindred Hospital Bay Area for my long term care treatment because it was close by my home, and easily accessible for my family to visit me.. I needed infectious disease treatment and I couldn't be more thankful to Kindred for the wonderful care I received. I was able to heal and recover in a comfortable atmosphere and not once did I regret my decision to be transferred to this hospital. My overall experience was great and I even got to enjoy a nice view my my private room's window! My room was kept exceptionally clean and was adequately stocked with all the supplies I needed. The care for the nursing department met my expectations and a few individuals stood out and surpassed them! I'd like to thank Chi Chi, Penny, Tina, Nelly and Mayola for their compassion and excellent service. I realized that I needed to increase my water intake to help my body stay hydrated and I hope to continue this practice once I'm home. I definitely enjoyed my doctors as well, they kept me informed of my treatment plans. I would recommend this facility to those in need! Thank you all again, Mrs. Williams more

My Little Angels of Mercy 3/27/2019

Let me start off by saying" I love this place!" Dr. Nasser and Dr. Rauf advised that Kindred BayArea would be the best place to continue my healing process. They are great doctors and were totally right. The staff is very pleasant and provided good care. You can tell that they care deeply for their patients. They made me feel like I was in very good hands. They were so friendly and made me laugh a lot. The food was good. When they had food that I didn't care for, I could call the cafeteria and order a turkey sandwich, which by the way was my favorite. I was also provided with jello and pudding for daily snacks. I learned that if I needed anything, all I had to do was communicate with the staff. I had never been in a hospital like this before and didn't know what to expect. It scared me that my stay would be so long. Everyone was wonderful, especially the wound care group and the rehab group. They will always be the most memorable. They were My Little Angels! I want them to know that they will always hold a special place in my heart. I love you all! Thank you, Mrs. Powell more

Felt The Love 2/12/2019

Armando & Bea in Rehab were very patient and sweet, and understanding. My Dad didn't feel like putting the rubber band on to do his exercise . So they explained to him how to do his exercise when he was feeling better. So they left the bands at his bedside and told my dad that they would return later to check on him. Esperanza(day) and Ruby(night) for 24 hrs I had very caring Nursing Assistant Care from the both of them, Thank You! Dietary came by and took the time to go over the menu, also helping decide on some great choices. Pamela (Day RN) educated us about meds and why certain meds shouldn't be taken on certain days. She explained what each pill does and why, walks through steps and why she is doing what she is doing. Loretta(Day RN) was very patient with my mom, she wasn't afraid to communicate in Spanish to my mom regarding my dad's care. Dr. Tran referred us to Kindred Bay Area. We we had excellent care. Felt more like home we were treated more like family. It was bitter sweet that he had to leave. He wants to come back and visit. Good variety of food, they had a little bit of everything. This hospiptal exceeded my expectations. Flexibility to come and leave, parking was convenient and very accesible. All the Nursing Assistant's make sure we were fully stocked with supples in our room. Everyone was really nice, all the care was great. Dr Tran was really great. Dr. Qureshi was also great. They all come by every day no matter what. Dr. Stein's assistant was great. Brit with respiratory explained to my brother why 02 was needed. A big thank You to , All the Doctors. Also, Armando, Bea , Ruby, Esperanza, Pamela, Loretta, and Dietary. Crystal(Case Mananger) set appointments, as well as set up after care appointments. She was very nice and helpful. Traditions Home health has called to make sure everything is ready once he gets home. I'm very pleased, 1st time hospitalized after Bayshore. I felt the Love.. more

Excellent care 12/20/2018

I chose Kindred Bay Area because it was so often suggested to me. My overall experience was excellent. It was a little cold while I was in the hospital, but the food was great. I learned how to walk and breath. The rooms were adequately stocked with supplies, the staff was cleanly dressed and well mannered, and all my care expectations were met. Case manager Von Barfield and Tracy Anderson and Pam the AM nurse gave me excellent care. All head nurses, and Arielle from PT went above and beyond in treating my stay. more

Kindred is #1 on my list 12/6/2018

I was referred to Kindred Bay Area by Dr. Nasser. This is one of the best hospitals I've ever been to. I'm so grateful to everyone, they were so nice. I was on a heart healthy diet and the food was still good. I was very satisfied here. Everything was within reach. Everyone was very nice. Not good to be in the hospital, but this is one of the best places that I have been to and would definitely recommend anyone who needs a facility like this. I want to thank everyone who helped in my care especially Bridgette in Respiratory department. The physical therapy team was awesome as well! It's great to have help like this with in the hospital Kindred Bay Area is a one on my list. more
