Review content:
We originally were told at our transferring facility that my husband would need skilled nursing care, but I knew he still needed to be seen by physicians daily so I began my own research on Kindred Hospital Bay Area. It was closer to our home and I had heard some great things about this hospital. I called the facility to explain our situation and verify if they took our insurance. After speaking with the intake department I knew this was definitely the place I wanted my husband to receive care at. The initial transfer wasn't as smooth as I had hoped for, but that wasn't Bay Area's fault.. we were being transferred to Kindred in Sugarland I believe because it was the closest Kindred to the hospital we were at. But then the Administrator herself, Tiffany, called me and asked if I wanted to go to Bay Area - I explained to her that Yes, I had done my own research and it was close to my home... she then apologized for the confusion, and made the transfer to KBA happen!! I felt so special that Tiffany personally called me, that is unheard of from a hospital. We were so thankful she did because the care we received was top notch! Our overall experience was awesome! They began aggressive therapy right away, which my husband responded to immediately and became more alert and within a few days he had made significant progress than compared to at the prior facility. Every staff member that worked with us was amazing, but especially Angela and Bernie in the ICU. The both of them comforted my family and affirmed that we picked the right hospital. Once we got out of ICU and moved up to the floor Llora (day shift) and Ann (night shift) went above and beyond to be very sweet and compassionate, they did more than I've ever had any nurses do for us and I am truly thankful they were able to care for my husband. Speech therapist Paul was fantastic and really helped with getting my husband to respond! I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hospital was to us.. our physicians were amazing as well- thank you all so much!!
