Ken Whirl Appliances on telegraph has serviced several of our appliances over the past 5 years. Great service, fixed correctly first time with reasonable prices by very professional workers. They are our family appliance repair ""A"" team. I messed up our brand new washing machine by leaving change in my pants pocket. They replaced the rubber seal in less then 24 hours. WOW! more

In response to Bob Stein, the thermal fuse you speak of is actually sold at a price of $17 after tax. This is the price that is set by Whirlpool as the suggested retail price. The fuses that you find online are aftermarket non original parts that we do not sell. Kenwhirl also provides many services that online companies do not such as free help over the phone and in person. We strive to provide the best service available to our customers and apologize you did not find value in this service. more

When I was young, about 12 or 13, my mother told my father over the phone while he was at work that the washer wasn't working. After telling him what it was doing, he told her to put me on the phone. My dad instructed me to go down stairs and write down the model# and the serial# of the washer and get on my bike and ride up to Kenwhirl and tell the man behind the counter that I needed a wigwag for our washer.\r He also told me that I had seen him fix the washer before and that I could do it too so my mom could continue with her washing.\r I did what he told me and felt like some really ""Big Stuff"" walking into Kenwhirl with that paper in my hand, going to buy a part for a washer that ""I"" was going to fix.\r That was 39yrs. ago and I rode my bike from Livonia up to the store on Telegraph and I did fix that washer for my dad.\r That experience must have had an impression on me to be able to fix appliances on my own, and save money too, because ever since then I have always went to Kenwhirl for my appliance parts and the people there have always been helpful providing tips and advice to get the job done.\r Thank You Kenwhirl! more

Love Kenwhirl! 11/30/2011

I have been dealing with Kenwhirl since 2001. They are a great and knowledgable bunch of people. I have had the owners son who is also a tech, out to my home several times for different appliance issues and he fixed them everytime. Their service call is very reasonable as well. I've heard from many people that they have paid as much as $120 just to walk in the door! I would reccomend them over and over again. Their office staff is also very friendly when I call. They always let me request the technician I prefer and I love that they don't give you an ALL day time frame. Pros: null Cons: null more

Poor customer service 6/24/2011

The technician that came to my home was rude. He was not sure how to fix my dishwasher problem. When he left, he did not reconnect all my pipes correctly and I had dirty, stinky food water draining into my basement. I have 7 kids and try my best to keep up with the clutter and mess they create. He commented on how my house was a little messy. I cried when he left. He made me feel like a terrible person. My husband talked with the owner of the company who could have cared less about our problem. It was very frustrating. I would call someone else. more

Very Helpful 1/20/2009

I have been a long-time customer of Kenwhirl and have never had the experience that you have had. They have always helped me with any question that I have had and have walked me through fixing it myself to save me money on labor. I have shopped around on other parts and found that their prices are right on, even lower in some cases. I would highly recommend anyone I know to Kenwhirl for their appliance problems. more

rip-off appliance parts 7/31/2007

My gas dryer stopped heating and the problem was a simple thermal fuse. On my way back from work i stopped at Kenwhirl appliance parts and bought one. It was $21.00, which i thought too steep for a simple fuse. Upon arriving home, i started calling around other places to determine if i was gouged.Sure enough, of all the 8 places i called, none quoted me a price as high as i paid at Kenwhirl. None were even close..They all ranged between$7.99 and $12.99 plus tax. That was my first experience with Kenwhirl and will be the last. I know i should've called around before, but i never thought that a simple thermal fuse which cost less than $5.00 Wholesale could be used by someone like Kenwhirl to rip people off. I have advised all my friends and co-workers to avoid this establishment , and i find it necessary to post this review to alert innocent consumers to retailers- such as this one- who shamelessly rob people and take advantage of them. more
