Kassab Jewelers in Lake Oswego is by far the most welcoming and knowledgeable jewelry store in the Portland area. I worked directly with Sandy Ponder and Phillip Susan, two incredibly patient and understanding associates. Unlike my time at other Portland jewelry stores, I was given as much one-on-one consultation time as I needed. They took the time to learn what I was looking for in an engagement ring, and worked with my budget to present me with great options. I never felt pressured or intimidated because they were truly working with me to find the best ring. Their above and beyond service is what makes them unique. Before I even set foot inside a jewelry store, I performed an extensive amount of research online. However, I quickly learned that shopping for an engagement ring at Kassab Jewelers provides intangibles that one cannot get from shopping online. This included their professional opinions and experience with different diamonds and settings, the ability to view the diamond in person (which is MUCH more important than I initially thought), and the service and guarantees that are part of a purchase. On top of this, Sandy and Phillip found me a better quality and larger GIA certified diamond than if I had purchased online or from another jewelry store. Ultimately, I purchased a ring that my fiancée loves and I feel great about because I know that I received a great value. WOW! What a wonderful experience!! My husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal this month and we were looking for an ""upgrade"". I took an idea into the downtown Portland store and met with wonderful Ratany, who right away made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Then she introduced me to fantastic Pierre Kassab.He's a lot of fun to work with, yet very detail-oriented and serious about his work, and they manage to make everybody who walks in feel like the only person in the store. I now have an incredible piece of jewelry created just for me by Pierre on my finger. My ring is truly a work of art, and I never get tired of people stopping me to ask about it. My fiance and I are so pleased with our experience at Kassab Jewlers! When we set out to find my ring I knew it would be hard to find. I went to countless shops and researched for what felt like weeks. After stepping in Kassab Jewlers in Lake Oswego I knew I had finally found the place. The owner, Phillip Susan, assisted in making sure my ring came out exactly how I envisioned. He and his assistant answered every question, no matter how simple or hard, like it was important. They were very patient and full of knowledge and there was no question they wanted my ring to be as perfect as I did. My fiance and I went here to pick out my engagement ring and they have turned what is supposed to be a happy occasion into a very unhappy one. \r I brought in a diamond that was of sentimental value to have put into the setting. I picked out a ring from their selection and I was promised two weeks. It ended up taking 4 weeks to get my ring which ruined any plans we had made.\r Once I finally got the ring I had to take it back because they gave the ring back to me with the center stone loose. They had it for a month you would think they would have enough time to tighten the stone.\r Then when I got it back I could tell that the center stone, which I already had, was a different color than the diamonds they put in the setting. When I got the appraisal back the stones they put in were two shades off from my stone, common sense would tell you when someone already has the center stone to match the outside stones to it. Common sense is not part of how they do business. When I took the ring back again to have the diamonds match the owner almost made me cry he was so disrespectful. This horrible man told me instead of changing the outside diamond I should just get a better center stone, knowing that the diamond had sentimental value, then he said it was of worse quality than what they appraised it at, and to top it off he told me that he wouldnt be able to find diamonds to match. I guess because I wasnt spending $100,000 I wasnt worth any of their time. I would never wish this jeweler on anyone. more
