Karakas Roofing did a pretty good job. They worked on a portion of our roof. They were personable, clean, and everything is quite good. more

I've already recommended Karakas Roofing. John did a repair for us several years ago when we had a leak in our roof. We had a more major leak after the storm we had in February, so when I got home I called my general contractor to find out if John was still doing work in the area. When I found out he was, I called him right away and left a message. He called me back within an hour. John came out to take a look, get a visual and give an estimate. It ended up being more than he anticipated, so he gave me a call on the phone to check in. I told him to go ahead with it. Two guys showed up to do the work. They introduced themselves, and they worked a full eight hour day. They hauled away the trash, and I saw the new material John brought in his pickup. We've had rain and wind since, and there's no longer a leak in that area! John is reliable and returns calls quickly. He comes out when he says he will come out. He actually called us to ask if the workers could come a day earlier than first arranged, which was fine because we wanted it fixed as soon as possible. He was here on site while the workers were on the roof. We were totally happy! more

I had a roof leak, and I got the name of Karakas Roofing through a neighbor friend of mine who used them in the past. They have a lot of connections with outside vendors for service work, so I value their ability to vet and select a contractor. So it was on that basis I called Karakas. Karakas Roofing was very efficient and quick to respond. I'm very satisfied with the work that made it through the first rain test, so I was very pleased with all that. The only hesitancy I have about them is I thought I paid a lot of money, which I discussed with John. We came to an agreement on that. Since I didn't get a second opinion, I don't know for sure whether I paid too much. It's just a feeling, so I don't want to say they overcharged. But suffice it to say before I use Karakas Roofing again, I will get a second opinion for cost. I was very pleased with what they did. They rapidly got out here to meet my needs. I want to give them a good recommendation, but my only hesitation is that I paid too much. more

I called Karakas Roofing because we had a leak in our roof. They identified it and patched it up. They were kind and thoughtful. I did think they were a little on the expensive side for the amount of time they spent here. They also left a little bit of a mess in the back yard. Other than that I thought they were pretty good. Our roof is not leaking anymore so I am basically satisfied. more

I called Karakas Roofing because I live on a golf course and some of my roofing is broken from the golf $@!#%. They came out quickly and actually took pictures of parts the roof that needed work on an iPad to show me so I didn't have to climb up there myself. They returned the next day and got to work. They also took it upon themselves to clean other parts of the roof, including the gutters. They were very quick to respond and take care of things. more

They gave me a senior discount and the roof looks absolutely wonderful. The roof has been doing very well with the rain since the installation. I've been very happy with it. This was my first time with Karakas Roofing. They came out did what had to be done. Turned out it was originally too much; 4 tiles taken out, little bit of flash work had to be done. The original estimate was 250, ended up being 375. A little more work had to be done. The front the gable over the kitchen had a protrusion out of the roof, there was some stuff that was gathering there and it hadn't been flashed properly, so he pulled some tiles out, reflashed it and cleaned it out. So he found that and that was good. Glad I was referred to Karakas Roofing. more

I'm very happy with Karakas Roofing. I live on a golf course, so they came out and inspected my roof for damaged tiles. They found three of four that needed replacing, which they did. They also pointed towards an ongoing situation with the roof where the rain water does not go in the gutter, but is diverted the wrong way. They also took care of that for me. They changed the flashings in the eaves and put in more functional design to allow the runoff to flow better on the roof. They are a good company to deal with. I had used them once or twice before. They're very professional. They come out, are on time and say what's going on. They tell or show me what they're going to do. They also present you with a written contract. I have no qualms about them at all! The owner is very cordial and very detailed. I trust the company implicitly. I already referred them to my next door neighbor, and they were very happy with them as well! more

John has been doing some repairs for me through my real estate company. I have a friendly relationship with him. He's honest and I like that. I've used his services for so long because he always does what he says he's going to do. more

John from Karakas Roofing did a roof certification for our transaction. I was representing the seller and we hired him to do the repairs and roof certification on a 25-year-old shake roof. It went well. He came out on time and finished on time. He did the repairs and gave us the certification, so we were able to close on time as well. The customer service was great. If he wasn't able to answer my call, he would return it as soon as he could. I found that he did what he said he would do. He's very honest and reliable. He's good guy and I look forward to using him again for my next client. more

Karakas Roofing exceeded my expectations. They went out and looked at the roof. After seeing it and checking it out, he called me and gave me the results. He told me everything looked okay and that there would be no charge. I couldn't believe it. He told me if I ever used him, he'd get it in. So he went out and did a service call--an inspection--at no charge. He exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use him. That's a business style that's rare these days. It used to be commonplace, but it's rare now. He came as a recommendation to me. Use him! It's well worth it. more

We used Karakas Roofing when we needed roof certifications done. So far, our experience with them has been good. We've only worked with John, and we find him to be very polite and honest. I worked with Karakas Roofing on a small project to do some repairs associated with an inspection. It was for some cracks and patching. The owner and two other guys knocked everything out, even patching some extra stuff that wasn't included in the inspection for the same price that they'd quoted over the phone. They were all very friendly and confident, and it was a job well done. more

I really valued Mr. Karakas' honesty. He could have told me anything and I would have believed him because I can't get up there on the roof. He went up on my roof and walked all over it. I was told before that I had some broken tiles. He told me I didn't have any broken tiles, but that I did have one thing that slips down over the pipes--a seal--and that one of those was split and the others were getting dried out. I had him replace all of them. The whole charge was only $60. I have already recommended him. He is a roofer and not a general contractor. When it comes to checking the trusses, he has a lot of knowledge and can give you his opinion, but he won't go up in the attic. He just knows the effects of a rotten or broken truss. He can tell from how solid the roof is and how the ends of the trusses look where they stick out from the wall of the house. He's very knowledgeable, but he won't go beyond what he's licensed to do, which is roofing. more

They had to do maintenance service on my tile roof. I had them out to repair water leaks and also replace some broken tiles. In general, it lived up to all commitments and promises made by John. They were always very punctual on time and very knowledgeable about the subject. They communicated with me the whole way through, letting me know what they were doing and when they would be here. more

I had a problem with some broken tiles. John was very pleasant, he explained to me everything as he went along. He came and cleaned everything, and replaced the broken tiles. Before calling Karakas Roofing I called another roofing company. They came out immediately, they didn't have a ladder, and they estimated $1,200 just to come out and give me an estimate! I didn't use them. Then I called another place from the phone book, but they never called me back. Finally I called Karakas and he came out right away, gave me an estimate, and set up an appointment. He got the work done. So far it is good! It has rained since he did the work and there was no leak. more

I'm an unmarried woman, so I get ripped off a lot by people. I actually found Karakas Roofing eight or so years ago, and they've been out three times now. I just feel that they're a trustworthy, fair company. Trust is the most important thing to me when I'm hiring workers at my home. more
