Go Satellite: TWC Customer Service is AWFUL 3/27/2011

I've been a Time Warner Cable Cincinnati customer for years but recently cancelled because they wouldn't give the rate I saw advertised on TV. (They wanted me to pay $40 more than a new customer for the same bundle). But the reason I'm sharing my experience is they are giving me the run around through billing and keep charging me even though I was told I'd get a credit. Horrible customer service experience. more

Time Warner - Still YUCK! 11/27/2010

Nothing has changed with Time Warner. They have never cared about their customers. But based on the reviews, I'm very lucky, I've gotten 25 months on my Digital DVR Cable Box, Scientific Atlanta. Now it is again pixelating and going off, as in NO WORKY, all by itself. The CSAgents no nothing about the service, the web site, the equipment, nuttin'! The spineless politicians will not put the Hamilton County franchise out for competitive bidding, which they should. Comcast is taking over the world, maybe they could save us here in Cincinnati. Do ya' thimk Mike Brown is the secret GM of Time Warner in Cinti? The Bungals and TW-Cinti sort-of operate the same way. Dunno, but it's worth pondering. more

I wish that I could see the dish network satellite 9/25/2009

I have basic cable. I have been trying to find out how much the next tier is. They do not list the prices on their web page. They have a online chat function on their web page that is always busy, atho I am always the second person in their queue. Calling on the telephone gets a person who does not understand the choices. Pros: only game in town Cons: hide information more

They have a online chat function on their web page that is always busy, atho I am always the second person in their queue. Calling on the telephone gets a person who does not understand the choices. They want to sell digital cable, but the pricing is unclear as is the equipment needed. I wish that I could see the dish network satellite, but there is a hill in between. Pros: only game in town Cons: hide information more

bad cable provider 8/26/2009

I have a TIVO HD. Time Warner installed cable cards three time. Their servive techs have not been properly trained on how to set up and service the TIVOS. I believe TIVO is a far superior DVR to Time Warners DVR. Pros: very few Cons: bad service and equipment more

Time Warner Cable is not interested in customer satisfaction 1/4/2009

I surely have to agree with others who have left a review of Time Warner Cable in Cincinnati. Their customer service is non-existant! Whatever hapened to being able to speak with someone who can fix a problem, or better yet be able to actually talk to a live person? I have been having issues with my internet service and have received nothing but a run around from Time Warner. It all started last Friday, 1/2/09 with a flashing modem light, which I've become rather used to as it happens a couple times a week on the average. Usually unplugging the modem and plugging it back in solves the problem but didn't work this time. Well, after checking connections, trying to ping the server, and rebooting the computer, all to no avail I was left with the only option of calling customer service. After listening to my options from their anoying automated answering system and pushing the correct number to speak with someone who could help me with my problem I was connected to another automated system that walked me through doing all of the things I had previously attempted to restore my service, all of this with no way out until about after 20 minutes of answering yes/no to various tests, unplugging the modem and restarting my computer, the voice said that I had a problem (wow!)and I was connected to speak with a service technician. After spending about 10 minutes listening to an ad telling me how great Time Warner's service was... and telling me that I could also log on to Time Warners website, ( slow burn here) to find all the answers, I finally did get to speak to a live person. She tested the system and told me that it seemed like my modem was bad. I took it to the nearest service center, swapped it out and the new one does the same thing. After calling back, getting the same run around, I'm now waiting for a service tech, who I'm told is scheduled to be at my house on 1/8/09! 6 days and countless hours after I reported the problem. Satisfaction is a word TW doesn't understand! Pros: They're the only option for internet other than dial up and they know it. Cons: They're the only option for internet other than dial up and they know it. more

Atrocious service 12/28/2008

I've had the ""upgraded"" cable service for only a few weeks, and I find myself re-booting my cable box at least once a week because of problems of Time Warner Cable's making. Re-booting takes roughly half an hour, so you are liable to miss most of whatever show you wanted to see. You'll waste even more time calling their customer service line, as hold times often exceed half an hour. DirecTV will soon have my business. more

Time Warner Bites! 7/17/2008

I have been back in Cincy for 9 months now and have had horrible intermittent service from them. With RoadRunner mostly but now the cable's off too. Hold times for customer service are ridiculous, and when you do get to talk to someone, wouldn't you know they're gonna have a foreign accent... What happened to all the Americans? They outsource their jobs to Costa Rica apparently and I just talked to a lady with a russian accent because I have nothing but black screens on my TV! They can't send anyone out today but they'll give me an ""all-day"" appointment for tomorrow! So, I'm supposed to wait around my house all day because of technical issues are on THEIR end? I don't think so! Some people have a life Time Warner. more

Avoid it if you can 5/17/2007

I've only had it a month, and I'm already contemplating going without television service in my apt, and getting rid of my landline. I have the triple play package with cable, internet service, and digital phone, and the only thing that's worked consistently has been the internet service. I can't ever get through to customer service without waiting 40 mins, and the website doesn't provide helpful information for subscribers, especially when it comes to troubleshooting problems and viewing billing statements. Pros: I spoke to one customer service agent who was nice. Cons: Service is sporadic; website isn't helpful; phoning customer service will take up your lunch hour, and then some (and you will need to call customer service--trust me) more

Horrible Customer Service 4/6/2007

Unfortunately, the only non-Direct TV cable service in town, especially if you live in one of the many historical residences in Cincinnati. Customer service by phone and at customer ""care"" centers is horrible--agents aren't empowered to make any decisions, systems aren't linked so you have to repeat your issues over and over again, little to NO follow-up, and no motivation to make things right since there's no cable competition in the area. Make sure to have all bills, proof of payment, and demands ready. Don't be surprised if agents don't respond to logic or reasoning...all they respond to are the prompts they're trained to deliver on their computer screens. Also, be forewarned that they bill 1 month in advance and it can take up to 3 weeks to have a technician come to your place to set things up, change things, or take things away. Finally, if asked to set up cable or other services through Duke when you sign up for new electric service or transfer service, DON'T!!! Their systems don't sync with Time Warner! They'll disconnect your current service and you'll end up paying a reinstallation fee, have to return equipment yourself, and have all the other hassles of setting up new service even though Duke was supposed to take care of it. Pros: They're the only non-Direct TV cable service in town Cons: HORRIBLE customer service more
