Editorial review from Citysearch 12/21/2013

I towed my car in yesterday 12/20/2013 for service . My car has the extended warranty and the service consultant Justin Slogar kept arguing with me that I have no extended warranty but finding out after 45 minutes that he entered the wrong Vin number ""go figure"". I got the service papers and the rental request to which is covered under my extended warranty. I went to get my rental and I gave them my insurance ,driver license and credit card. The person at the rental desk tells me that I'm restricted from the rental and this needs a manager approval and he told me the manager is out now and should be back in 10 minutes. I waited almost one hour and 15 minutes for he majesty to get back . The person at the rental calls me to go at see the service manager Jose Fernandes. I went to his office and I asked him what seems to be the problem and why I am restricted from getting my rental . He would not explain why and kept telling me you are restricted with a bad attitude and hand gestures, then he asked me to leave his office cause he does not want to help me.\r I bought from this dealership two BMW in 2011 and do you think I will be back ,NO""\r I believe someone at this dealership should look into Jose fernandes attitude and teach him service manners and etiquette to how to deal with customers . I will be talking to my lawyer in regards to him breaching my contract on car rental .\r \r Happy holidays,\r \r K M more

Just to clarify my only experience with BMW of Irvine was through their service department and my review is primarily focused on their service department alone. \r \r I contacted BMW of Irvine for the first time to have my front brakes serviced. It was a horrible mistake. Although they seem to look a professional, serious and reliable business to deal with when you drive through the dealership, as it turned out, it was very deceiving at the end. Their service department is very disorganized, poorly trained, disoriented, and without any level of discipline or professionalism. I am surprised how the BMW manufacturer lets BMW of Irvine stay in business. They have receptionists acting as service agents! and service agents backing up their receptionists for any situation that comes through. \r \r I called on Wednesday and I was forwarded to a gentleman named Stuart to help me with my service needs. I asked him to give me a quote for the front brakes that would include brakes, rotors and labor. He gave me a quote of $580. Then 5 minutes I called back again to confirm the quote I was given, and after confirming I drove to the dealership from Riverside, thats 48 miles away! to drop my car for service and I was assigned to a service agent, Miguel, that was present when I got there. Next day, Miguel emails me to give me a final estimate for the services to render. He was quoting me double much than what I was originally quoted for. On top of that, he would tell me that my car needs brake fluid maintenance and other additional services and was trying to convince me to include them in my service. \r \r I drove back to the dealership to ask for an explanation. I met with Miguel, and he would back Stuart, trying to make me look like an idiot and to prove me wrong. Then I decided to cancel my appointment and take my car to another dealership. I asked to talk to the service manager Jose. Jose asked me who gave me the quote and when I said Stuart, he says Stuart is our receptionist and shouldn’t be giving you a quote. He is not authorized to give quotes anyways he said. He offered to perform the service at the quote I was given and I refused at that point. I wouldn't trust them to touch on my car. I decided to take my car elsewhere to another BMW dealership to perform the services needed. \r \r IF I trust or recommend BMW of Irvine? Hell no. I would never take my car at any expense to them, nor I would recommend them to anyone. \r \r I ended up being fooled, wasting my time, wasting my gas, driving in traffic for nothing. This has to be the ultimate worst place for service. Stay away\r more

terrible service dept!! worst experience ever!! 6/14/2011

brought my car in for CPO engine service. Took them over 3 weeks to finish it. the whole time the car was there they didnt bother to give an estimate for the extra parts I requested. Finally I was giving a total before pick up which I was shocked to hear the price. Any smart consumer could have found them online for way cheaper. $300 for something that could be purchased for $100. After talking to the service manager, who is an absolute moron, we go into an argument. Words were exchanged and out of nowhere, one of his young thug employees came out of nowhere and assaulted me!! On top of that, the service manager filed a false police report an accused me of pushing him. Mind you, I have my dominant arm in a sling post open surgery. do you know it is against the law to file a false police report...? DO NOT GO TO IRVINE BMW!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF, BEAT UP, OR NOT HAVE YOUR CAR LONGER THAN IT SHOULD BE, more

What a lease 1/20/2011

I leased a car from them barnd new. After I signed the papers for a 2009 X5 for payments of nearly $1275.00 per month since a friend was working there and said that is really a good deal. Considering I have great credit and no problems making payments. A year later a frriend of mine told me he has the same car and leased it from the same place one month apart from me and is paying $759.00. I called them and they said at the time that was the lease price. These people are not trustworthy people. If you wish to buy somehting from them make sure you check their numbers. Do not deal with them. Oh and their service department is an R and R place they have no idea how to fix anything that is technical. more

The BMW's reputation ruined one customer at a time. 11/2/2010

I purchased a brand new 535i two years ago. This car has been in their shop on and off for almost 2 months all together. If I do the calculations correctly It means each year instead of a $60k BMW that I bought I drove a lousy rental car for 1 month .and interestingly they act as if they were doing me a favor fixing a car that is under the manufacture warranty. They haven't been able or willing to correct the engine malfunctions and other issues. The service advisers are either not knowledgeable and savvy or they simply lie to you assuming the customers are illiterate or both. Most employees are acting like a gang, not so much as a friendly group of coworkers, it seems like they don't want to be there. I haven't met any friendly employee in this dealership except for the sales crew. The service team must be under constant stress from the top (the owners and the managers). I have been a business owner and an employer for over 20 years. I think the management team of this dealership needs to be blamed for having so many unhappy employees. This clearly shows in the way the stuff are treating the customers of BMW company. It also demonstrates the owners lack of leadership. The BMW's reputation ruined one customer at a time. This was my first experience with the BMW and most likely the last one too. Thanks more

WOW .... Everyone is so friendly 12/17/2008

Ok... never done this before! I just read the comments below and i don't believe one thing he says . The whole transaction was so simple. my sales guy was kind of new so he introduced me to Howie , the sales manager. Howie was actually very helpful and respectful, he took his time finding me the right car. I actually went in to buy a 5 series and went home with a 6 series, it was only $50 bucks more per month, ok so its a stick shift ...but shouldn't a bmw be a stick? \r \r I did lots of research, auto market is bad but BMW is still going strong, the guy probably made a dumb offer that why he said Howie pretty much kicked him out. Come on people , if you do not want to be offended, don't offend them and be realistic.\r \r If you want a great deal, go see Howie at Irvine BMW and find out for yourself how nice and respectful he is.\r I actually got a convertible, can't wait till the rain stop .\r \r Pros: everyone is so nice ! more

Totally Lacks Customer Service 12/4/2008

Do NOT go to Irvine BMW!!! I've had two very disappointing car shopping experiences there.\r \r The first time I went was last year. The salesperson (forgot his name--young, ample-sized guy) kept talking about how he likes racing, how often he goes to the tracks and how he's saving to get an M5. He was cocky and talked like a know-it-all. It was irritating! I ended up getting a car at Tustin Infiniti (consistently excellent service).\r \r My second experience was very recent. Diamond was the salesperson who helped me and was courteous enough to deal with. When it came down to talking about price, we were going back and forth on the numbers. The sales manager, Howie, came over and abruptly ended the talks and basically gave me the boot. Howie is a schmuck who doesn't know the first thing about customer service. Anyway, I then went to Sterling BMW in Newport Beach and got my car there. While I was with the finance guy, Diamond from Irvine BMW called me to follow up, and I told him I was signing papers for my new car at Sterling BMW. He was shocked. That felt sooo good!!!\r \r Call Brian Cummings at Sterling BMW for a positive car shopping experience--(949) 278-7833. He's knowledgeable and will treat you with respect. Cons: Incompetent Sales Manager more

Great Deal and friendly sales person 6/11/2008

I just purchased my BMW on Saturday 6/7/08. I came from out of town and visited two other BMW shops. These guys gave me the best deal and best service. I totally recommend them. I went to Crevier BMW and they we awefully arrogant and not willing to deal when needed. TIP: All shoppers of pre-owned BMW's should buy certified BMW's because they include a factory warranty!!! consider that if you're buying from a non BMW shop because it cost about $3400 additional for a good warranty coverage. Also buy the maintenance package because it pays for itself within 30k driven miles. Enjoy life:) more

Best Orange County BMW Experience 1/22/2008

I've purchased cars at other Orange County dealerships and I was very pleased with my experience at Irvine BMW. My salesman was Haoie Luc and he treated me with respect. He listened to me and then answered all my questions. There were no surprises and no bait and switch. The price I was quoted on the phone was the price I paid. Very cool. I would recommend Irvine BMW to my friends. Pros: professional, no surprises, great selection Cons: the dealership is big and the selection is a bit overwhelming to choose from more

Worlds worst Dealership!!!! 12/30/2007

Before I start, I am somewhat of a ""car nut"" . I have owned over 20 new cars from Mercedes and Porsches to Chevys, and Hondas, so I know what I am talking about. Irvine BMW is above and beyond the worst dealership I have ever experienced. I have never been so poorly treated. \r First off the mark their cars up thousands over MSRP, then they refuse to give you a loaner car for warranty work even if you are towed in ""because you didn buy the car here"" \r Their service department is a joke! They refuse to fix warranty problems calling them ""wear items"".\r I could go on and on.\r Usually I am complementary of dealerships and give them the highest ratings, As they seem to go out of their way to acomidate me.\r Mercedes actually makes you want to buy a new car from them.\r It's too bad because BMW is a better car, but next time it's back to Mercedes for me!! Cons: HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE!! I WOULDN'T WISH IT ON MY WORST ENEMY!! more

Avoid 4/11/2007

They do not know what they are doing. They cannot fix anything and they are very rude. Take your car elsewhere. more

Completely Unethical 4/11/2007

They tried to sell me some special body care package, which I politely declined, but then they wrote it into the contract, so I asked them to remove that section and re-print the contract. They reprinted the contract, but left it in, and I signed it without checking. Ergo, I now pay $40/month for a ""deal"" that I didn't want and asked to not purchase TWICE. \r \r Their immorality is absolutely appauling. I cannot discourage you from going there enough. more

Clowns selling Cars 3/27/2007

The title says it all. These guys are a joke. They are completely oblivious to the concept of customer service. I went in to purchase a car I leased earlier and experienced the most ridiculous treatment that can be belted out to a premier car customer. Heck my Honda dealer is a lot more sophisticated in customer service.\r There is no proper communication style. \r No continuity. You will end up talking to 10 different folks before anything actually happens.\r Take your money elsewhere. The folks at Crevier & Newport are much better. Irvine BMW does not deserve your business. more

Irvine BMW - Not Worth Risking Your Car with Them 5/11/2005

I took my car into their service department for the 1st time, and they tried to sell me $3300 worth of repairs. They don't know how to interpert fault codes. They act like their techs are 1st year students in a high school auto shop. Buyer beware! Check out others opinions before taking your BMW into their service dept. Their sales dept is decent and knowledgeable and can do a good job in selling you a car. more
