When I entered the examination room, I noticed that the exam table was covered in a lot of animal hair and what looked like dandruff and dirt (I am thinking "flea dirt"). So clearly they don't clean the table between patients. more

Another two customer lost 3/5/2011

Both my parents and I took our dogs here. They treated my dog without concern for what I had to say. We got him as a 4 month old puppy and the first time we took him to the vet, things went okay. The older he got, the rougher they became with him, including using their own choke leash on him because they "didn't know how to use mine" (it was a retractable leash). He didn't appreciate their leash and tried to run back to me but they jerked him and dragged him to the back. That was the last time I took him there. \r My parents took their dog and, while she was a puppy, things went well. But when they boarded her, things to a turn for the worst. First off, they REFUSED to let my parents see where they would put her. She was only there for 3 days and when they came to pick her up, she was COVERED in dirt and her own pee and feces. It looked like they never let her out the entire time she was there. The bag of food my mother had brought for the dog was UNOPENED and when they returned home, t more

WE LOVE IRONWOOD 12/16/2010

@ Rebecca.. Knowing this vet clinic for many years taking all of dogs there..Know that they do not use i quote "choke chains" on any of their patients. Every experience i have ever had has been nothing but wonderful. Maybe some more handling your dogs feet at home would be a better solution for you meaning having to sedate for a toe nail trim every owner should have control over there own dog. Or knowing you vet clinic were you take your dog/child getting more research on them would probably make a better solution for you as well. more

We found a new vet today 9/15/2010

I took my dog to Ironwood today for the first time. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews on this site, but I worried for nothing. My dog has had an eye infection for the last 3 weeks that my previous vet has been unable to clear up. \r \r From the minute we walked in, the staff was friendly, my dog is usually terrified at the vet and refuses treats, with the Ironwood staff he was calmer, allowed them to hold him (which he doesn't do at our other vet) and took treats from them. \r \r Unlike my previous experience with my other vet, tests were run on my dog. It wasn't assumed he had "allergies". \r \r Long story short. I paid twice as much, traveled twice as far, but my dog was comfortable and I felt like he got the best care possible. I'll be using them as my vet from now on. \r \r Thanks Ironwood! more

Dog Lover 6/30/2010

We were clients of Ironwood for many years until the day one of the vet techs treated our dog (a harmless beagle) badly! She was in for nail trim, that's it...and she was also sedated as our dogs are hard to handle when getting their nails trimmed. Our dog didn't want to go back with the tech, so she threw her leash on the ground and went and got a choker chain and dragged her back to the back practically.....then when she brought her back she threw the leash back down on the floor and said "Your dog bit me....have a nice day." and walked out of the exam room! NEVER AGAIN did we take our dogs back to Ironwood! I asked to speak to the vet, but she was in surgery, so I wrote a formal complaint. I never received a phone call from the vet, nor did I ever receive an apology from anyone for the treatment of my dog! To top it all off....they charged us extra for a difficult visit! That was the last time we took our dogs to Ironwood! more

Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma is horrible 7/19/2009

We will never go to Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma again. We'd been taking our dog here since we got him as a puppy, i.e. loyal customers. We needed to get our dog papers in order to fly, standard stuff certifying he'd had his shots and was safe to go on a plane. Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma provided those to us for a fee. On our return trip, we are at the airport with the papers, and Frontier Airlines says they need an additional paper - a 'letter of acclamation' - stating that the dog is used to temperatures of 75-95 degrees (as it is now 80 degrees outside). We are now in Denver, 2 hours until departure for San Diego. The airline won't take our word for it that we live in Yuma where it's 114 and 80 will if anything make our dog feel cool...but...We call Ironwood Veterinary Clinic Yuma from the check-in counter to ask them to fax the required sentence over to Frontier. In short, they kept us on the phone with them for OVER AN HOUR arguing back and forth, in sum saying they "can't more

Awesome vet care! 7/25/2008

I am very particular about the health care of my animals and this clinic is the best in town. They know their stuff and their staff are friendly and accomodating. They are reasonably priced and it's usually easy to get an appointment. I highly recommend this facility for all of your pet care needs. more
