Best

Very expensive. But worth every penny! Huge portions! Great Food! Great service! Best to go in groups as their sides are really big! Also, set aside a couple of hours to rea...

Worst

Certainly not the best money I've spent. Could think of better places to go.

great dinner 3/7/2003

I am from a ranch family, so I am used to a good steak, and Manny's prepare's a meal better than my grandma could. So good a petite gal like myself can eat a 28 ounce porterhouse with room for dessert. more

Best in Town 3/3/2003

Manny's knows what it is. It is a steakhouse with impeccable service (whether you want personality and interaction or efficient and hardly seen) and the best steaks in town. Yes, it's expensive. But when you have a cause, an excuse, or an expense account, there is no place better. Pros: Food, Service, Wine List more

Great Place 2/8/2003

Food is the best. Large portions but pricey. The atmosphere could be improved. Pros: portions, food Cons: decore more

What's better? 1/27/2003

In my opinion, everything about Manny's is lousy except for the steak. But the steak is the best I've ever tasted. I've been to more steak houses than I care to admit, and Manny's is one of the best. The ribeye is wonderful. The side dishes are boring, the desserts are boring, the wine list is incredible but outrageously priced. I could not bring myself to buy a $95 bottle of wine that I can buy at the liquore store for $10. So go to Manny's, order a steak (and some hashbrowns if you must) and you'll be happy. The service is great. Pros: Steaks, Service Cons: Everything else more

let someone else pay 1/20/2003

This is a wonderful steakhouse, there is no doubt. Our steaks, lobster, and sides were perfectly prepared, and of course the portions and the prices and the service are all part of a sort of gustatory theater. No one ACTUALLY eats THAT much! Now, my carps: the beer selection was unacceptable. I know the ""experts"" prefer wine, but I love beer when it is fine, and for these prices, they should have some exclusive brews on tap. The decor is minimalist but not unattractive. My largest complaint is the location. Opposite a tasteless erotic painting gallery and next to a souvenir shop in a large modern hotel is not my idea of a characterful location. That didn't stop Norm Coleman from showing up when I was there! Pros: steaks, "theater" Cons: cost, location, ambience more

Overrated and overcooked! 1/16/2003

anny's is in my opinion absolutely overrated. According to our waiter the Filet Mignon is not aged. It would be too expensive to age a Filet. My wife still gave the Filet a try, but unfortunately the steak was overcooked. To finalize the Filet story, we received a very rude response after mentioning that the steak was overcooked. Filets at other top steakhouses like Gibson's in Chicago or Donovan's in San Diego are far, far superior. Maybe because their Filets are aged. The enormous sides were also very disappointing, but I have to admit that the Prime Rib was by far the largest and best I ever had. Overall, I think the restaurant is not worth the hype and the money, since friends told us that they also received overcooked steaks the one time they dined at Mannys. Pros: Prime Rib Cons: Filet, Service, Value more

Great steaks but lower the volume 1/3/2003

Great steaks, attentive service but lacking upholstery to reduce the noise. Floors and chairs are bare wood. If you want ambience look elsewhere but for a fabulous steak........Manny's is the place Pros: food, service Cons: noisy more

Nuttin Finer than Manny's 1/3/2003

The atmosphere was less formal than we had been told. The waitstaff was very professional and knowledgable. The food was extremely good and portions were very large. They actually have a cart that they bring out to show you what is on the menu. more

A Steak Dream Come True 1/3/2003

By far the best steaks in the Twin Cities. Always too much to eat, but their packaging of leftovers in butcher paper and bags is sensational. The sides will serve 4, easily. The bone-in ribeye is to die for. Great drinks, unbelievable service. The waiters are hilarious. Pros: Steaks, Service, Cocktails Cons: Somewhat noisy more

great prime rib! 1/2/2003

I decided to try Manny's again after a few bad experiences. It was terrific. Our waiter was very good and my Prime Rib was as good as any I have ever had. I was a little dissapointed in the sides but the main course was wonderful. more

The Best! 12/30/2002

The best place for steak in town. Everything you need for a fun experience ... awesome food, stiff drinks, competent staff and a great environment (yes it's loud and expenisve ... but it's supposed to be). Starve yourself for a couple of days and then go and power down the double porterhouse. Oh, and then unbuckle your belt a notch and go for the monster brownie for dessert. Pros: Great Steak, Great Drinks, Great Time more

Manny's is Masculine 12/19/2002

Forget, light portions and soft spoken decor and waiters. Manny's is Manly. From the dark wood to the decadent steak and wine, this place reeks of Frank Sinatra! From the large portrait of the ""Bull"" greeting guests at the entrance or the darkly lit bar this place is my second home when visiting Minneapolis. I highly recommend to all for a TOP NOTCH steak house. more

The Best 12/12/2002

I cannot wait to visit Manny's again this upcoming weekend. My family and I eat there twice a year, and I look forward to it each time. The steaks are flawless, as are the hashbrowns. The lobster is fresh and tasty and the other side dishes are cooked to perfection. Parking is easy, especially through the valet. Service is attentive, but not pushy, and is well-trained at solicited suggestions. This restaurant may be expensive, but it is a must in Minnesota dining. more

great meat 12/10/2002

What can I write? It is my favorite steakhouse in America. Pros: great meat, great ambiance more

not what it's cut out to be 12/8/2002

I had very high hopes about my first visit to Manny's. In one word, it was OVERPRICED! No chunk of meat is worth $30+ !!! And certainly no baked potato (1lb. or not) is worth $5!!! Pleeeeez! It's wasteful to order a baked potato if you're dining alone and WANT A DANG POTATO with your meal! Give me Outback Steakhouse with their delicious fresh salad or mouthwatering potato soup, tasty baked potato and a decent piece of meat-ALL for under $20! Now that's a good meal that doesn't take a huge chunk out of your wallet! Sorry, won't do Manny's again. Cons: very expensive, sides too big/expensi, parking $4 more

Best Steak I have ever had!! 12/3/2002

my steak was thick and came out fast and i could cut it like a hot knife cutting through butter. the steak just absolutely melted in my mouth. Sides are large and can be shared with a companion or small group and they were also excellent. Pros: Great steak, Prompt Service, Good Atmosphere Cons: Price more

review redux 11/8/2002

This was my review from 07/07/01 and my opinion hasn't changed one iota! To answer my question, ""what comes after great?"" The word might be FANTASTIC!! What comes after great?? Clubby decor, noisy, action packed, where the elite ""meat"" to eat.(Just look at the pictures on the walls.)All this and a great show put on by the waiters too. I can't say enough good things about Manny's other than its a great place to be a conspicuous consumer especially when you know you are getting your moneys worth! Portions are HUGE and DELICIOUS and sharing is never a problem. Isn't great that the Republicans are back in and we can eat red meat again WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY! Please open another one in St Paul so I don't have to drive so far. more

awesome food 11/4/2002

The steak melts in your mouth, the lobster was excellent, the extra crispy hash brown potato's are huge. the mushrooms cooked to perfection. more

Beefy Goodness 11/4/2002

Absolutly amazing steak, great classic steakhouse atmosphere. Steak is served very plain, which is the only way to go. Service is fantastic - waiters and not intrusive, however always there when you need them. Deserts are fantastic as well, but crazy expensive. This is the first restaurant I have seen a $30 dessert. To summarize - if you want a good steak in Minneapolis - you must check out Manny's. Pros: High End Steak, Service more

AWESOME! 11/3/2002

This place has it all!Great atmosphere, and, great food, sit in the bar room if you go. more
