Best

Very expensive. But worth every penny! Huge portions! Great Food! Great service! Best to go in groups as their sides are really big! Also, set aside a couple of hours to rea...

Worst

Certainly not the best money I've spent. Could think of better places to go.

Wonderful food and great service 7/11/2006

Manny's is by far the best steak place in the Twin cities and top ten in the US. You will not be disappointed. My steak has always been cooked to perfection and the service has been great(with the exception of one time). Some on here have complained that they ordered the steak well done and it wasn't cooked enough. Tip- all steaks that are burnt taste the same, try the seafood. Pros: Food, service, drinks Cons: price, no more cigars. more

EXCEPTIONAL!!! 5/7/2006

As most people visiting Manny's knows, the location probably is not as best as it could be! The great thing, however, is that Manny's is not known for the location, its known for the elegance of atmosphere as well as the delectable tastes in the cuisine! As you begin your night walking down the hall you notice the many faces that have visited the extraordinary restaurant. As you arrive in the entry there stands a podium for hosts/hostess' that rapidly find you an available table! The low lighted, cozy atmosphere hightens the mood for a formal dining experience! The service provided is nothing more than perfect! The steak tray comes to you with luscious whole steaks ready for you to pick and served on a beautiful plate with just the perfect amount of sides! If you are anywhere in the general area, I highly recommend this restaurant! more

If you don't eat beef... 5/5/2006

This is still a great place to go. I joined my family for a dinner at Manny's, but I don't eat beef at all. While I did get some crap from our server, he eventually decided he could bring me the fried shrimp - they were awesome! Alomost as awesome as the lemon martini I ordered. I also highly reccomend the hasbrowns and mushrooms as sides. Regarding the ambiance - loved the basr area, but I thought the dining area was pretty boring. My family raved about the steak though, so if that's what you are after, I doubt you will be dissapointed. Pros: food, drinks, mellow atmosphere Cons: price more

Our first experience was great! 2/5/2006

You have two choices, to the right is a well lit fine dining room or to the left with a low lit steakhouse ambience. We chose the left because there were booths that might offer us a little more privacy. The menu is great, they present the different cuts of meat and seafood on a cart. We ordered a ceasar salad (split between the two of us, and it was plenty) and crab cakes. The crab cakes were amazing. The filets were great; cooked to perfection. Dessert could feed 3 or 4 people. Hasbrowns could feed 4-5. The server was the best I've ever had, compared to other restaurants like Nola, Capital Grille, etc . . . I would recommend going in a larger group( rather than just two). A little pricey; worth 90% of the price. All in all, it was great. Pros: Filet mignon, Crab Cakes, Service more

Absolutely Wonderful 10/4/2005

A group of 4 of us went out for my friends going away dinner and we all loved it! The portions of the sides are huge. We all shared the mashed potatoes and there was alot left over. We also split 2 caeser salads between us, which was just right! The steaks melt in your mouth, with all the juices and seasonings. The Broiled Garlic Shrimp was to die for. Since we all had never been there before we dressed business like but do not be worried if you do not. Just an all around great place. Great Martinis also! Pros: Huge portions, Great service, Delicious food more

Great food! 8/26/2005

Food was excellent and plentiful. Too much if you ask me. Very expensive but a great meal with excellent service. Again, as with The Oceanaire, tables are TOO close together. I don't want to have conversations with diners sitting next to me. For an alternative, equally delicious steak, try Murrays (Ike's is good also.) more

Expensive, but good 8/19/2005

I paid $60 for one person, but for huge portions. The meat was excellent tasting - the best prime rib I've ever had, though way too much. Make sure you have a big appetite or bring a large group and share. Service was good, but not excellent and the dining room is dark and noisy. Pros: Food, Steaks, Portions Cons: Price, Atmosphere, Noise more

Steak! 5/23/2005

Without a doubt this is the best steakhouse in Minnesota. Bring lots of money, and be prpared to tke home leftovers. The portions are huge and everything is wonderful. Pros: steak, mushrooms, hashbrowns Cons: noisy more

Gross Steak 5/14/2005

The atmosphere is lovely... the desert devine however the steak (medium/well) was still mooing when brought out to me. It just didn't taste right... but other than that it's a very fun place. more

A Wonderful Visit 8/28/2004

Near the end of July, I took my sister to Manny's Steakhouse for her birthday. We had a wonderful time. We were seated in a surprisingly-casual area of the restaurant (we did not make reservations); however, we noticed a formal area for such occasions. The service was excellent as our waiter had extensive knowledge of a great wine list as well as an innovative platter presentation of many various steak cuts. Browsing over the menu can easily get intimidating due to the price, but I guarantee that it's worth every penny. Portions are very large for both dinners and appetizers. My steak was easily one of the best I had ever eaten. If you're in the mood for a spendy night with promised satisfaction, stop by Manny's. Pros: Food (Steak!), Wine List, Service more

Overrated, but still good 8/24/2004

Its a nice place, decent service, good food, but compared to the other steak joints in downtown Mlps, it just doesnt take the cake. I've been there twice recently with big groups (14 & 10) and can say that it was nice. Food was pretty good. Its always busy, and although the servers are knowledgable, they seem to be overwhelmed due to the packed house. I recommend Manny's but there are better out there in its class. Pros: Steak more

Money wasted on Manny's 4/6/2004

I was put in charge of selecting a place to take 12 guests in Mpls for a WW meeting. Having people from France, Germany, Poland, Spain, UK, & Italy in attendance, finding a place to be enjoyed by all palates was a challenge. In the end, I must say I couldn't have been more disappointed. While the large group made for great atmosphere and our server was ok and attentive, most of the guests were not impressed with their meal. Next time I need an impressive dining establishment to entertain for business or celebrate a special personal event, Ill go to Vincent. If the guests want a good steakhouse, Ill opt for Timberlodge instead. Needless to say, neither I nor any of my guests plan on frequenting Mannys again. Cons: , Mediocre Food, Over-hyped more

OUTSTANDING 3/7/2004

My Manny's experience was outstanding! The wine list was comprehensive, the service was A1, and the best steak house I have ever visited. Bring your appetite for wonderful cuts of beef and have a wonderful time Pros: Delicious steaks, Outstanding service, Great wine list more

Don't forget the snails 2/2/2004

We almost didn't get a chance to enjoy this wonderful and unique special (escargot) at manny's because it isn't on the menu, we just happened to see it at a table near us and we asked our server, who quickly informed us that yes that is the escargot special. And it is quite special, along with everything else at Manny's. Pros: Great food, Great ambience, excellent service more

A Bit of NYC in MSP 1/28/2004

Step into Manny's in the area between the bar and the dining room. Close your eyes for a minute. Listen closely and also take in the aroma. If you are from NYC like me, you could swear you've just walked into one of the famous East Side steakhouses. The atmosphere is only part of the experience as the Prime Beef is the co-star. I used to be fanatic of Manny's 20oz NY Strip - that was until I tried the 24 oz Bone-in Ribeye. It just doesn't get better than this. Appetizers are good although stay away from the raw oysters. Veggies and starches are phenominal - try the hash browns w/ onions. Drinks offer the best pours in town. Comparing Manny's to any other MSP steakhouse is a waste of time. They are all a very distant second!! Pros: Best Steak in Town, NY-like Atmosphere, Great Waitstaff Cons: , Could Get Pricey, Oysters Disappoint more

Manny's rocks everytime... 12/21/2003

...and, I am there WEEKLY (sometimes more) as my fiance has an addiction to the place. The service rocks, the food rocks and the consistency rocks. If you like Manny's now, try becoming a regular, it is even more fun. Wait, should I be telling everyone this, never mind...stay away from Manny's and uhmm, go to...I don't know...ask people who don't go to Manny's where they go and go there. Pros: lobsters, fillets, salads, apps, wine list, pours Cons: no room for bread, or dessert, food is too good more

Yum! 10/15/2003

I have eaten at Manny's more than I can count and each and everytime the food and the service has been great! The atmosphere is great, fun wait staff and fun patrons. Manny's has great steak, but even better sides. Come really really hungry b/c you will leave stuffed and satisfied! Pros: wait staff, atmosphere, good people watching Cons: expensive more

When 'rare' means medium 9/14/2003

I have yet to have a steak at Manny's that is not overcooked. Even when I take pains to explain that I LIKE the center of the steak purple, it comes pale pink. At these prices, they should do a better job. Pros: Nice Room, Large Portions, Good Parking Cons: Steak overcooked, Expensive, Average Service more

THE best steaks 9/2/2003

I've been to several great steakhouses; Rainwaters in San Diego, The Metropolitan in Seattle, Plaza 3 in Kansas City, Ruth's Chris, Mortons, The Palm...Manny's beat's them all. I've never had a bad steak at Manny's. Pros: great food, high energy Cons: No Valet, Loud more

LAeater 6/3/2003

I just had one of my best restaurant meals ever at Manny's during a visit to the Twin Cities. When I ordered the porterhouse medium-rare, the waiter asked me to be more specific. ""On the rare side of medium-rare,"" I answered. ""Say no more!"" he replied, and it came cooked to perfection. Our waiter was entertaining, as well as attentive. All the service was top-notch. And after a full meal with salad, steak, hash browns and vegetable, Manny's Brownie was the knockout punch that left me in a satisfied daze. more
