Best

Well, my prior comment still stands. Actions do speak louder than words. The team girls are halfway into their season and they are doing a fantastic job! The current coaches ...

Worst

Good: Location. Close to home.. Bad: Only one instructor to a class of 10 to 12 toddlers. Not enough direction. More instructors would mean that parents wouldn't need to go in wit...

These posts turned me off!!!! 10/30/2008

I was considering signing my 5 yr old up for some classes at HUGS until I read all of these posts. My God,if this is the kind of people who go there then I think we won't. Seems to be alot of immature B/S and it does'nt look good for the school.Just look at me.I'm so turned off by it that I'll take my daughter elsewhere. more

sorry maegan 8/8/2008

maegan, i am sorry if i made you look bad. i know you love hugs but it wasnt fair to say that some kids arent in shape. also who cares what the parents think. their in the lobby watching if they dont approve then they'll make their chid(s) quit. you should just coach the kids and get it over with. so then you can complain to somebody else. hugs is a great gym no mater what. i love it here. more

YOU CALL THIS FILTHY! 3/27/2008

i can not believe that you would say such a thing! this gym works hard just make sure we stay hydrated. with it's very refreshing drinking fountain. sure it's a little dirty but there are 35 kids on the team and that's just level 5! we eat snacks and we drop them and sometimes the little kids barf but the staff does there best to make it safe. some gyms have don't have ropes over the pit and what if they fell off? our gym makes it safe for us to land. there is no air conditioning and we work really hard but it's worth it. i haven't seen anyone hurt their selves so bad hat they were rushed into the emergency room. i know one person who got their hand cut open while setting the vault blood everywhere! so she taped it and did bars! another person broke their finger and didn't show any emotion. in fact they said the had a stomach ache and went home without crying or anything. so this gym has mats everywhere just to cushion our landings! so this place shouldn't be criticized. it is a little dirty but there is no harm in it! more

this gym is the best 3/27/2008

ok so the gym does need to clean up a bit. but just because someone smashes a fly one day doesn't mean that it's filthy. i mean later they could have cleaned it up. unfortunately we lost a great coach to mega but this gym hasn't changed a bit! it's still great and nobody listen anyone else otherwise! more

So-So 2/22/2008

The individual who identified as Meagan, I doubt is actually Meagan or even a coach there. Most of the people posting should consider using spell check. As for the gym itself, it's OK. They proprietors need to clean the floors more often, if they do at all. It's usually filthy. Once, I witnessed a coach use her shoe to smash a fly on the floor. She then didn't clean it up, but rather spread the fly remains around the area. She put the shoe back on her foot and walked around the gym. So, if you have small children who tend to put their fingers in their mouths and who touch everything, you should be more vigilent using the facilities. LT more

maegan is really a coach 2/6/2008

people maegan is a coach and should be treated like a good person even after posting that it's true some kids shouldn't be in gymnastics but if they really love it it shouldn't be a problem. maegan i understand what you are trying to say and i know who you are because i used to see you almost everyday but if you really dislike the rec levels then y don't you just coach team or go to igi and coach i am sure a lot more people would like you because a lot of people aren't going to like u at all once i show them wha you wrote. you used to be an incredable gymnast and we're sorry that you had to retire but GET OVER IT!!!!! more

huntley coach 12/29/2007

i am a coach and huntley gumnastics. i am tired of heearing all this stuff that parents have to complain about, if you dont like the gymsimply go somwhere else. dont sit here and waster your life talkin about how bad a place is. move on with your life and get over it. Huntley gymanstics is not a bad place or gym and the staff is amazing!. all these parents who say they are sick of coaches talkin behind thier childs back are being total hippocrits by posting on the site. you are doing the exact same thing. and as everyone knows,. two wrongs dont make a right. most parents get upset because thier childred are not moving up to the next level liek other children but thier child is most likley not capable of doing gymasntics and not cut out for the sport. this doesnt mean you chould take your child out of the sport but lower your expectations. not everychild can be an olympic champion. all this talkin need to stop. do somthin better with your lives! more

I see some comments regarding gossip of the woman coaches. Gossip was exactly the reason I took my daughter out of HUGS two years ago. more

Mixed feelings about HUGS 8/17/2007

My toddler has been in tumbling there for almost 2 years, I think. Parents go with for the toddlers. I regularly hear the coach talking about other toddlers and their parents. She often talks about who is a bad parent, who spoils their children, etc... The kids have fun. They are learning, but you have to overlook the immaturity of the coaches. Just realize that they are probably saying something nasty about you or your child when you aren't around. more

not so hot 5/23/2007

My daughter has gone for 4 years now and we are looking for a new gym. She has been ignored and talked about from coaches to other gymnasts(her friends)and the info has gotten back to her, the woman coaches there should be ashamed of themselves, they should be inspiring to the girls and someone to look up too more

i love this place 5/21/2007

i love this place as a gymnast ( taylor holland ) i love hugs it is an amazing place for kids of all ages to learn gymnastics and have fun my mom loves the coaches she said that she trusts them very well and she said as long as i like the coaches i can do it and i love the coaches they are so much fun and they will never get hurt unless they do something that they cant do ! more

I'd never recommend it! 9/18/2006

My children were treated very harshly by two of the coaches. My 5 year old was physically grabbed and screamed at for crying in the gym, and my 7 year old was told that if she sat down in the gym, her whole class would have to do 50 sit ups, facing public humiliation. We spent 5 years at a previous gym with nothing like this. more

Gymnastics anyone 8/16/2005

HUGS is a great place to get your child involved in the sport of gymnastics. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgable. Their programs start for children as young as four months in their Toddler Gym which has smaller sized equipment for the younger set. The HUGS Tots program is parent/child and goes to age three at which time the child can move into the regular gym without parent if he/she is ready. Classes are kept small so that there is plenty of individualized attention. My child looks forward to class each week. more
