Good: Location. Close to home.. Bad: Only one instructor to a class of 10 to 12 toddlers. Not enough direction. More instructors would mean that parents wouldn't need to go in wit...

HUGS is great! 3/11/2009

I am a gymnast at hugs and I'm confused as to why many people are saying that our gym is filthy. Its not. I should know since i work out there everyday. Not only are the gymnasts great, but we would be nothing without our amazing coaches. I know level 5 & 6 have taken first several times, and 4,7,8 have taken 2nd. I love Huntley Unlimited Gymnastics. more

happily left hugs 3/3/2009

We left hugs last year when a new gym opened, and we are so glad we left! MEGA is an amazing gym and we love it there. Hugs was filthy..my child's health is much more important than trophies and banners...by the the way, MEGA has a nice collection of trophies as well! Kayla N. is a great gymnast, probably because her mom is an amazing coach. I know this because she quit hugs and is coaching team MEGA. more

WE ALL LOVE HUGS!!! 2/5/2009

HUGS is an amazing gym! If you come in, look at our state banners, YOU WONT SEE NEARLY AS MANY AT ANY GYM! If HUGS is such a “horrible gym”, then why would we achieve so much? Why would we have a girl go to nationals and place 2nd in all around? And most importantly, why would we be one of the top gyms in the state of Illinois? Before you listen to any of the gossip and untrue lies that are posted on this cite, consider this, would you like to have your daughter join a gym with top ranked gymnasts and one of the best clubs in the state of Illinois? Or would you like to see your daughter grow up to be one of the top gymnasts in Illinois? You decide. more

Huntley Rocks 2/2/2009

Ok, so here's the thing last meet our level eights took 2nd place team awards and our fours took second and our fives took first so ya basically we kicked but!! There was sooooo many teams there like more than fourty so to be in the top five in every thing well to me that's just awesome!!! And all you that say that you are neglected ya right cause let me tell ya its won of the best darn clubs ever its not just a gym its a HOME!!! more

What hugs is all about! 1/29/2009

Okay well this gym is amazing! all the coaches are amazing and so are the gymnasts. This gym is perfect for optional, recreational, and compulsory gymnastics. We have had a girl named Kayla Nowak go to nationals! And yes it's true their is a banner smack dab in the middle when you walk in. Yes sometimes it may be dirty but it doesnt mean we try to keep it clean. Every night people come to clean the mats and we try to keep the gym as perfect as possible! Please come and join the fun! Thisa program is absolutley perfect. Great coaches and a great facility! I love this gym! more

Friendly place... Don't think so! 1/29/2009

The girl who went to Nationals left the gym years ago as the gym had nothing else to offer her. She's at a different gym now. The coaches are FAR from friendly and one even goes as far as talking about kids behind their backs. This I know from experience! The gym used to be a nice place to go, but that no longer is the case. And again... the owener doesn't care. He's just in it for the money. In my opinion, you need to have a love for the sport to own a club. more

CRAZY FOR HUGS! 1/29/2009

HUGS gymnastics is one of the top facilities of Illinois Gymnastics. If you are looking for a gym for your little one to have fun, or to compete on a team, HUGS is the right place to go! The staff is very friendly and the gym is gymnast-friendly. Every time I watch my daughter in practice, the couches are always encouraging her to do her very best! My daughter has always loved HUGS. Everyday she tells me the new skills she has learned or how much fun she had flipping around! If you are looking for a top-notch gym, HUGS is the way to go! more

i would also like to say that i love it here at hugs! beng a level 6 soon to be 7. i have also been going here for 8 years and yes kayla nowak has been to nationals representing hugs. it is hanging in the front! the staff and coaches are great and all of our programs are great. we are a compulsary and optional program and we rock at it all! - an awesome gymnast more

Not Great, that's for sure! 1/25/2009

My daughter went to HUGS for a few years and we have since moved on. The gym IS filthy, the office closes hours before the kids are gone which is not safe in my opinion and you are ignored by the owner with any concerns you may have. We now attend a gym where the office doesn't close until the last kid leaves and your concerns are addressed right away. I would caution you to check into a gym where the owner actually cares about the sport and isn't just looking to make a quick buck. more

HUGS!!! 1/19/2009

Im a level 8 gymnast at HUGS and i recently switched gyms to come here. My coaches we mean to me at my other gym and i couldn't take it any longer! So after 9 years and a different gym i came to hugs. All i have to say is that i wish i would have come to HUGS earlier. The coaches are amazing and really help you through hard times. i really do believe that we have great upper level gymnasts because at the last meet me and my teammate took 1 and 2 in the AA so if you have never tried HUGS please dont write nasty comments Thank you!!! A true fan of HUGS!! more

Im a level 7 gymnast at hugs and i have been goin their since it opened! It is amazing all the coaches are amazing and treat the kids very well! and im tired of all these nasty comments about this gym. If you have any problem keep it to yourself! we had a girl named Kayla Knowak go to nationals! She won 2nd place all around out of the whole nation so dont even say crap about the gym and how coaches treat kids. more

Yes, a girl HAS made it to Nationals. There is a big banner hanging up that says "Kayla Nowak, Nationals, 2nd place all around". And you should have no business talking badly about the HUGS team girls! I am appalled! The team girls work extremely hard and are rewarded with there success. If you have ever been to a meet that HUGS has participated in, you would know that we take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in almost all of the events and all around. Huntley Unlimited Gymnastics School is a very successful gym and with continue their victory now and forever. more

You Get What You Pay For 1/1/2009

This gym is great for the lower level USAG Guidance and structure. However, if you are looking for anything at the Optional level, look elsewhere. Not one girl from HUGS had made it to Nationals, only to Easterns. You need to do your research before writing something that has no fact to support it. Remember "You get what you pay for"!!!!! more

The Coaches Are Spectacular 12/31/2008

I just have to say that i am a level 7 at Huntley Unlimited GYmnastics School and iv'e one first place so many time you don't even know! So i didnt just get like that magically! The coaches helped me and coached me and brought me through when ive had trouble! But ya know what I did it! Yes a Huntley girl can win first so I dont know why all you parents are whining about not having their child being talked to or ingnored or slapped i mean seriously come on!! Yeah right! And obviously if you beleive that i dont even know what else to say except for that Huntley is the best gym in the whole state of Illinois we have so many first place banners its not even funny! Huntley is the best no matter what you say your justmad that your child didnt move up probably!! So get over it! more

For starters my name is Teddy and I am a former Coach. I left the gym for no other reason but it was time for a change in my life. I know for a fact that the staff are excellent, talented and very professional. Something people need to understand is that no one person is perfect. There are going to be conflicts of personalities. Some newcomers to the sport dont quite understand the nature of the parents who have their children in this sport, some are very easy going and others are the worse case scenario. Not all are that way but you have to understand the sport and commitment involved. it is not a "oh i think it would be cool to do" the team kids sacrifice alot. not all kids are cut out. Please do not get turned away because of little garbage that some extreme parent wants to express.take a look at the gym, the banners won, the kids in training and talk to the people that make the gears turn. if i wasn't currently employed by the U.S. Army I would be at the gym, it is passion that never dies and thats the way it needs to be to fully understand the sport. i would be greatful to work there again after my service is done. dont let stupid stuff scare you away from this place. more

Yes their is going to be drama once in a while and just because of that you dont have to take your son or daughter out of the gym!WE had a girl go to nationals! more

All of the negative comments about HUGS are absolutly wrong. My daughter has been going to HUGS for eight years and has become a complete success! If you look at all of the banners hanging up around the gym 99% of them are 5th place and higher. HUGS has the best vaulters and bars gymnasts in the state of Illinois. (That is in the record books) If you are looking for a gym to start you son or daughter in, I highly recomend Huntley Unlimited Gymnastics School. more
