Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping

Hands down the best irrigation/landscape specialists in the area. We have used Hunter Irrigation Services for 2 homes in the past 5 years. Both times, complete install of 6-7 zone irrigation systems. The team of Alan and Matt, worked tirelessly to earn my business both times, by taking the time to answer all my questions. (House 1 had established lawn, and I had concerns about damage to the existing landscaping, House 2 was a new build, and had no landscaping in the back yard.) Took 2 months from initial contact for me to pull the trigger while I added some landscaping items that would change the way the system worked. No problem for Hunter Irrigation, each step of the way, they answered all my questions about the impact, and what to look at even from other companies for work outside their specialty. When we were ready, Hunter pulled the permits, and got to work right away. 1.5 day install, and we could not be happier. Outstanding customer service, and respect from each member of the crew on site. Alan and Matt both made a visit out to the site on the 1st day to check on the progress, and make sure we were pleased. 2nd day, Matt came by at the end of the day to walk through the controls again, and make sure I knew how each zone was laid out and how the heads worked. FANTASTIC customer service, and a hand hold approach are what make this company successful, and if I ever need another sprinkler I know who to call. more

I highly recommend Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping. They did a great job putting in our spinkling system. We haven't had any coverage or any other problems. 6 months later we put in a patio and they came back for free and adjusted the system including moving some sprinklers and adding a sprinkler to account for the patio. Matt is easy to work with. I would definitely use them again. more

Matt and crew did a awesome job on our yard. He was on time to our meeting and the day of instillation. The crew cleaned up nicely and even did a few extra things to make us happy. A friend had recommended Hunter Irrigation to me; she had used them for her sprinklers three years ago and was still very happy with them. I had Hunters and several other companies come over and give me a quote, Hunters quote was the lowest of all of them and with my friend?s recommendation I decided to use them. more

Much the same experience as snoop0208. I called and left a message for Alan - no response. Called Matt who answered the first time and told me to call Curtis. Called Curtis - name and number was taken - no return phone call. Went with Sullivan Irrigation out of Pflugerville. Got an answer the first call, appointment was made immediately, they came and took care of the problem at the appointded time. I just needed my system reprogrammed (yes I'm an idiot) but since I had to pay for an hour minimum, they turned on everything and checked it all out. Very pleased with the service. more

Never had a sprinkler system before. Matt and Allen treated me and my wife with kid gloves. We asked tons of questions and Allen was quick to respond to each and every email. (very patient) Their crew was quick, thourough and very courteous. The clean up was immaculate. Afterwards, Matt gave me and my wife a detailed walk through of the controller and the system components. All in all I would give this company an AAA+++. Their price was not the very lowest we had received, but we compared the bids and the warranty was longer than the lowest bid and parts were better. I am not much on writing reviews, but both me and my wife thought this deserved it. Thanks guys! No more hose dragging. We will deffinitely pass your name along to anyone who asks us. more

We called Hunter Irrigation because they seemed to have gotten great reviews. We needed someone to come out and service our system. It took a few days to get a call back but we understood because it was spring and they were probably busy. After getting the call back we set an appointment with Calvin to come out and give us an estimate for the repairs and tune up. When Calvin came out he asked how we found them and we told him ""on the internet"". Calvin said ""Yeah, we got one bad review but that person was a difficult customer"". Calvin gave us an estimate and set an appointment for the following Monday. Me and my wife had to adjust our work schedules so we could be there while they worked on the system. They were a no show!!! We called Calvin two or three times with no call back to let us know what was going on. Finally I spoke with Matt who said he didn't understand why they didn't show up but he would call Calvin and then call me back. Nope, that never happened either. Two days later and no call back from anyone. If this was the start of how the customer service was going to be I guess we lucked out. I just wish they would have at least told us that they didn't want to do the job before we took off work to accomodate them. Needless to say I won't be calling them back and hope that no one else does. more

I just wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful experience we had with these guys. I sent them an initial email asking for a quote, and within a few days we had a quote that was a far better price than the competition we had gotten quotes from. Their equipment is top notch, and we couldn't be happier. They did have to delay a few days due to heavy rains in Austin (not their fault) and they showed up right when they said they would on the install day. Their install team was very friendly and courteous, answered all of our questions even while they were working. Once finished, they adjusted all of the heads to make sure that everything was covered, and they did a wonderful job of cleaning up the yard afterwards. There was no trash left behind, they even washed down the driveway and sidewalks for us. The controller in our garage is very easy to use, at the time of writing this, they have not been by to give us training on how to use it (they just finished the install last night), but we were able to get it running on our own just by looking at the box. Again, I have absolutely no complaints and I would recommend Hunter Irrigation to anyone looking to get a sprinkler system put in. Just to give you an idea, the price quoted was anywhere from $500 to $1500 less than some of the others we got prices from. Well done guys! more

I researched half a dozen companies in April 2010 to install a new sprinkler system in my front and backyard at Avery Ranch (in NW Austin). This company gave one of the best bids, were friendly in explaining their estimate, and seemed to know what they were doing. I went with them, and the job was done in a few days. They did extra work for me to put in new grass patches all over my yard (since my own manual watering had killed off portions of my yard over the years...). If I had any questions, Matt or Alan were able to get back quickly and explain stuff patiently.. VERDICT? Excellent job. Fast, quality work. Great customer service. They may be busy on a given day, but they will get back to you shortly because it does matter to them. Highly Recommended. FOLLOW UP: Almost 18 months after the install (Oct 2011), I noticed a problem with one of the zones acting erratically. I called the company, and Matt and Alan came out Monday morning, looked at the system, fixed the problem promptly... all with a friendly smile and attitude. more

Many of the comments noted here are so true about these two gentlemen. They provide excellent customer service. Several times after our installment was completed we had questions they responded immediately. As for the installation I must say it was done in two days total, Matt's team is amazingly competant I could not get over how fast they dug up the yard for the install then had the whole system installed in 2 days. Matt continures to provide such excellent service, we had problems not understanding how the system worked he came several times to help my brother and I program the system to comply with the manditory watering schedule. I wish this business every success they truly deserve every alloclade, they are honest, hard working,and patient with folks who just don't get how to program correctly. They never loose patience and are always considerate. They are the epitomy of great business. I wish them many customers. Matt and Alan are great representatives for the company. Alan responded almost instantly to every email I sent. Matt was the crew chief for our place and is very knowledgable about sprinkler systems and designed a 10 zone system that has 100% coverage of our yard. We used a different landscaper to put in a new yard and used Hunter for the irrigation system even though our landscaper had his own company he liked to do business with. Our landscaper was as impressed with the price and work that Hunter did as we were. He even told me that he could not match Hunter's price. The Hunter crew worked hard and did a great job. They dug the trenches by hand and were very careful they did not damage any existing landscaping. They raked the whole yard after putting in the system and hauled off all the rocks and debris even though they knew I had a landscaper that was going to be putting in sod. Matt thoroughly explained the controls and came back and adjusted some sprinkler heads after we had the sod laid. more

Showed up to all of our meetings on time and prepared. Gave me and my wife a very good bid on sprinkler and landscaping. The crew was very hard working and courteous. I received Matt's info from my neighbor that got a sprinkler system put in from Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping about a month or so ago. I am in need of a sprinkler system and landscaping as well since I just purchased my home in Oct of last year and want to make quite a few changes. I called and spoke with Matt last week and set an appointment for this past Saturday at 9:30 as said he likes to do them earlier in the morning. 9:30 came and went and no one showed. at 10, I called both numbers on the card and got voicemail. I left a message on Matt's voicemail and got no response. I had errands I had to do, but instead stayed at home waiting on someone that may or may not show up. If something happened, that would have been totally fine, but no call back even after a voicemail from being stood up is not at all professional. I'm sure they do good work when you can get hold of them, but i'll be taking my 6K budget for this project elsewhere. This set the tone for me on the kind of dedication i can expect on this company anyway. more

I just had a system installed by Hunter last week. They did front, sides & back yard along with some sod installation. It started with Alan doing the estimate and scheduling and it was an easy process from the get go. Then as I always say, a company is only as good as the people it employs and I can't say enough about the crew they sent out. They did a professional, thorough job and were very nice from start to finish. Matt came by afterwards and walked me through the system controls and was as helpful and great to deal with as everyone else. These guys also installed an extra hose bibb in the back yard as a bonus. From start to finish I have been extremely happy with the service, product and price ! Alan also went above and beyond with some extras ! I will recommend this company to anyone who is thinking about getting a sprinkler system installed without hesitation. Also, don't forget the crew at the end of the day. These guys are wonderful! We needed irrigation and sod for front, side, and back yards, and Hunter Sprinklers made our yard problems disappear. From start to finish, Alan and Matt were kind and considerate. They give old-fashioned, neighborly service. They returned phone calls, and answered questions in an honest and friendly way. They're approachable and genuine. They know what they're doing! On top of that, they freely shared information, both on their website and in conversation. Then our Install Date came, and everyone worked their butts off, and we ended-up with beautiful grass and a carefree sprinkler system. Their pricing is right on track with the level of genuine care that they are going to provide you, and with the best quality equipment out there. (We got the Mack Daddy programmer, haha!) They were worth every single dollar we paid. They worked so hard and gave us the most beautiful yard! This morning I sat on our little patio and drank coffee, and watched the sprinklers slowly move back and forth... (*Sprinkler Relaxation Therapy*)... And I just couldn't believe THIS IS MY BACK YARD! We are very happy to realize that we can have people over now. They gave us a yard that we'll be proud of when family and friends and co-workers come over. I just had no idea how beautiful they were going to make our property. I had no idea how great they were going to treat us. Nor did I realize how great it was going to make our house look; it actually looks brand new now. They really did a great job. And today I am going to go buy them a little present as a token of my sincere gratitude. It is so comforting to know that if anything comes up in the future, that I could call these nice fellas up and ask them what to do, and they'll help. They really are the salt of the earth. I trusted these guys every step of the way. I know you can too. Knowing what I know now, I really couldn't ever use anyone else. I'm more than impressed with Alan, Matt and the company they've built. I had them put in our sprinkler system over a year ago and they had, by far, the best service, response times and pricing as three other companies I looked at. I also just recently ran into some minor issues with my sprinkler system and called them up and both Matt and Alan were out here within a day and fixed everything at no charge. The service they provide is above and beyond all other landscaping companies I've worked with, and their prices are more than competitive. If you need landscaping work done, especially a sprinkler system, use them. more

These guys are as good as it gets. I had several estimates for my front yard to have sprinklers installed. Some were higher and some lower. But Matt was there on time to do the quote and was just a real easy going, no pressure guy. They were new to our area (Cedar Park) and so I gave them a chance, and I was real happy i did. After signing the contract, they were at my home the next day, got to work right away, they cleaned up after themselves and had the job done on time as promised and the system works great! Had them back out to do the back yard the following year, and it was as good as the first time, on time and working great. I have had a few issues with the valves and had a leak after a freeze. I gave them a call and they came right out to look at the problem and were there the next day and had it fixed, no change and no questions asked! I have given them as a reference to a few friends, and they were just as happy as I was with their work! It's great to know there are still businesses out there that believe in good customer service! Alan and Matt are quick to reply by email. Arrived exactly on time, did exactly what they said they would do, used the highest quality parts I have experienced to date, and this is my 6th system. Hunter Services was great. We had lost our yard and in need of help. They responded promptly and were very friendly and professional. They did all that we asked and wanted and added their own creativity. We could not be happier. Everytime we are outside, someone stops walking or driving by and comments on how beautiful it all is.
