Cost was higher than original quote 9/3/2014

I recently went to Hayward Auto Care for the first time to have my car serviced. The people were nice, but I was disappointed that the work ended up costing more than what they had originally quoted me. It was a bit expensive so I don't think I will be bringing my car back here in the future. more

Honest mechanics and good work. 8/19/2014

I've used Hayward Auto Care twice over the period of a few months. The mechanics were honest and did great work. Recently, I had a 90,000 mile service on my Acura. Previously, I had my transmission fluid flushed. Both services turned out well. Ken and Bill worked with me. They were both honest, affable, straight forward and friendly. more

Trustworthy and knowledgeable 8/15/2014

I've been going to Hayward Auto Care for many, many years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Ken, Bill, and everyone else on the staff are the best. I really value their honesty. They've never tried to upsell me and have saved me so much money in repairs. Most importantly, they do good work and love what they do. I would only recommend them. more

Very pleased 8/6/2014

Hayward Auto Care replaced the water pump in my car and it was great! The mechanic was really knowledgeable about Chevrolet Camaros. He was really honest in dealing with it and I appreciated them. He worked really fast and efficiently and there haven't been any problems with the car. more

No complaints 7/31/2014

Hayward Auto Care fixed a coolant leak and did a job on my brakes. I like that they have a shuttle that can take me to BART and they fixed my car in a timely manner. I didn't have to wait long at all. more

I've been a customer of Hayward Auto Care for several years. I've got a good deal with them, so I'll keep going back until I don't. They take care of the work pretty quickly without an appointment, and that's the best thing that I like about them. It's been a very good experience. more

Very honest! 7/29/2014

This was my first experience with Hayward Auto Care. They worked on the tires, the assembly belt, and performed service on the car. They did a fantastic job. They were very helpful, and the amount they charged was affordable. It was just right, so I felt like I could trust them, and they're very honest. From now on I'll go to them and recommend them to my relatives. more

I took my car to Hayward Auto Care to have the valves adjusted recently. In the end, they washed and detailed it, too! They have very good, quality service, and the price is pretty much what's around. You can ask their customer support staff anything. I appreciate their attention to detail. more

Repair woes 7/21/2014

I don't have anything to compare it to, but I felt the prices were high at Hayward Auto Care. It seemed the hourly rate for labor was exorbitant. They were recommended to me by the place I go for my tires. I needed my car smogged, but I couldn't get it done because my check engine light was on. They told me part of my intake was clogged. An assembly inside the intake was no longer functioning, and they had to replace it. Once it was fixed, I had to run my car for two to five days to make sure the computer reset. I went back again and got my smog done. Just be aware of the prices out there. It's hard to make an decision if you don't know if you're being charged a higher rate than normal for the hourly labor. more

What do you say when you find something or someone that is so different from everyone else? Wow? Amazing? Those words don't say enough about the service, friendliness, and honesty that we got when Ken and Bill services our car. And their knowledge is unquestionable. Trustworthy, affordable, good service 7/15/2014

We've been going to Hayward Auto Care for about four years. Since we discovered them we haven't taken our cars anywhere else! We're really satisfied with the work they do and the honesty and friendliness of the people who work there. The main reason we keep going back is their honesty. We really feel they are an honest business. The owner, Ken, is very accommodating. He always tries to squeeze us in if it's a spur of the moment need. We don't feel he gouges us at all. They don't do things that are not needed for the car, and Ken always suggests simple things my husband can do if there is such an option. more

Great mechanic in Hayward 6/23/2014

I first used Hayward Auto Care when I had some engine problems. They were able to replace the engine with no problem. They replaced the engine coils and saved me a bundle for what I would have to pay at the dealership. Ken himself is very professional. He is usually there at the shop, and if I need something, I can often just come by and leave my car with him. He always takes care of my vehicle. more

Hayward Auto Care is wonderful. Ken and his team truly care about their customers and it shows. They fixed my brakes for me and explained exactly what they were going to do and for how much. They showed me which parts they were going to replace and did a great job. Additionally, everyone was respectful, professional, and knowledgeable. I'd recommend them highly. more

Hayward Auto Care provided me with great service. They were very forthcoming with the information and costs associated with the work that needed to be done. David was very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. When I got my truck back, I found another issue a couple weeks later that unrelated to the repair. They diagnosed the problem and worked everything out very quickly and efficiently. They run a good, honest business and I will return for the high-quality service. more

Two thumbs up 6/6/2014

The service was super nice. The mechanic is good and honest. He wasn't able to fix it the first time, but the second time he figured out what the problem was and ordered and installed the correct part. He didn't charge me for the second time, only the first time. I really like them. In fact, I am going back to get there to get my car smogged. I give this place five stars and two thumbs up. more

Poor 6/5/2014

I went to Hayward Auto Care my first and only time. I don't think I'll go back. I went in for one problem. They got that sorted out, but I wound up with a cracked engine mount. They fixed it, and they said they wouldn't charge me for the labor, just for the price of the part. I checked with another mechanic, and it seems like they charged me double the price of the part. The second day after I picked up my car, my air conditioning clutch unit ripped out of the car while I was driving. So I had to have that replaced too. Basically I went to them for a $300 dollar repair, and I feel they damaged my car so I ended up paying $800 dollars. I went back to speak with Ken about it, to see if they could make it up to me. But, basically, he was pretty defensive about it. He had no solution other than to say it wasn't his fault. more

I would absolutely recommend Hayward Auto Care. Ken is the best! He has always been honest, professional, and very knowledgeable. He's very upfront with telling me what my options are and what should be done first. He has never tried to upsell me and is just a great guy to work with. The rest of his staff is equally as personable and accommodating. I've been going to Hayward Auto Care for the past two years and have had no issues with them whatsoever. more

Always satisfied 5/23/2014

I get the best auto care at Hayward Auto Care. I was once shopping around to get my brakes fixed and a different shop found other things that needed attention. Long story short, Hayward Auto Care quoted me thousands of dollars less for repairs than other auto shops. Ken and his team are honest, professional, and competent. The shop is also very conveniently located. I've never had any problems with them and would recommend them highly. more
