been goin here forever and FINALLY its nice to see some gentlemen behind that bar! those female bartenders needed to be replaced. they had the FUNKIEST attitudes ever! a poor representation of this establishment....... not only were these men quick but cordial and entertaining. dont those ladies realize they would make LOTS MORE money if they treated their customers a little better?? but i guess not eveyone has mastered the art of hospitality. i saw them walking around too. you just dont forget a rude face. keep up the newest good work Havana! cant wait to come back again on a saturday night! more

I have been going there for a few yrs now and it has changed so much!! Back a few yrs back it use to be the place to hang out thurs/sun. The crowd was very classy and very mature but now it's so getto! The guys are gangster looking and women not classy at all!!!! the havana house should not have a dj at all cuz that is what attracts this type of crowd. Yea, sometimes you have to wait... Yes, the bartenders get busy, not really their fault. Tip them and they will be nice! PS: The blonde one is my favorite & she makes great drinks! Not sure what you did to piss her off. Yes, the music is awesome. Yes, the place needs a face lift, since I started going some five years ago, it's gone down hill a bit. Not sure if its management or just wear and tear, since most the time that place is PACKED. Yes, the bouncer has to make people wait when due to fire code...not his fault. All in all, the HH is a great spot in the 626 area. If you want more trendy, expensive, and less fun...go to Fullerton or Pasadena. If you are in the area, HH is not a bad option. The last critique I have, some nights the girls are just amazing, cute, young, and fun. Other nights it's like the baby sitter factory had a two for one special and nothing but older, "mom" looking types...Don't hate - I'm just being real. However, I can never understand the pattern, Fridays are great, sometimes then Saturdays are DEAD or vise versa. This place is BS. When we ordered food the waitress wrote it down wrong and the manager tried to blame us that we did not order correctly. Then they misplaced my friend's credit card and tried to say she had it in her purse when the waitress had it the entire time. When I told the manager I worked in customer service in a 5 star restaurant for 6 yrs and "the customer is always right" and all my friend wanted was a side a fries which came with the order the manager said "sorry we are not Mc Donalds." WTF. we are never coming back here again and we will make sure everyone we know will never come here! Don't waste your time. Horrible service! Pros: None Cons: Many more

This place rocks. Many complain about the bouncer but he is just doing his job. If you arrive before 10pm or after midnight you will have no problem getting in. The good thing about this place it has a nice enviorment, it has a dancing floor for those who love to dance.. with real good LATINO Music, a bar for those who want to smoke or just socialize and drink, and finally at the back of the room there is a small lounge to sit conversate, drink and smoke. This place is made just right.... I know the lines might not be the best. but remember you CANT HAVE everything in life. Plus this way they get the wrong people out. I been to this place many times for the past year and I've never seen or heard of a fight. SO if you wait in line for an hr. but I will not have to worry about having the wrong crowed then it WELL WORTH IT.. Trust me, its small place, but the good thing about it is that no matter when you go your bound to have a good time. About the smell, well you are going to a cigar shop what else are you going to expect? Plus ladies remember if a man know how to smoke fine cigars, and dress well you wont find loser there, and fellas the women for the most part dress nice and classy.... About the bartenders, well they will take long if you dont take care of your bartenders, so just like in any other place you go, take care of them and they will take care you.... Bartenders work for tips, so just start with a good $5-$10 tip, and they will do everything you want the rest of the night. If you dont beleive in tipping then dont complain... I've been coming in for about 3 years now. I'm a fan of the Bay of Pigs! Being a bartender myself I know how hard it can be keeping up with cranky people who have been waiting outside and have lost their patience and demand service, and I've also takin notice that the batenders have all been there fo a while, most of which are pretty pleasant and fast....yet I always wonder why the tall blonde is still there?? She just stands there and looks in the mirror and moves at a very slow speed and when she finally decides to help you out it's like she's doing you a favor. I'm sure she's a nice person, but in this industry your here for the customer. I feel bad for the other bartenders who have to carry her weight. more

Honestly, the service is just atrocious. A friend and I went on a tuesday and their was no cover so that was a plus, about the only one though. The bar tender was too busy doing nothing to take our drink orders, once we finally got our drinks the bartender dissapeared... as if we only wanted the one drink. I am never going again!! I went with my friend who had heard from some of his friends that this place was good, and had really good music. Well, it seemed to, at least from what we hear while waiting FOREVER outside in a long-ass line!! I mean, I understand a little bit of a delay when there's no cover, but this was absolutely ridiculous (1 hour at least, and this is Alhambra!). The bouncer is so low-class. There are 2 lines, but apparently we were in the wrong one, as he holds our line forever while letting people in the other line in. I figured ok, that's the VIP line or something, but he lets random people off the street enter too. He doesn't seem to have any sense of order. I mean, come on, if you're going to let random people in off the street as they walk up with no wait, while turning away people waiting for over 45 minutes, how do you expect to keep any customers! When we finally get in, and FINALLY make it to the bar, the bartenders ignore you! I waited 15 minutes, while one bartender was standing by the cash register text messaging!!! I've seen best and worse. For me being from Spain the music rocks as unfortunately we don't listen to much r'n'b back home; and it's funny listenig to Spanish singers, hehe. Yeah, the line thing: it's true, it's like "Man, it's been 30 minutes and nobody came in!", well, not nobody, nobody from the line. The bouncers let everyone in as long as they know him/her. For me it's ok, the waitress is always very nice and invites me to drinks and I have a lot of fun watching guys being rejected by girls. About meeting interesting people, well, I just prefer to dance and have fun, girls who go there look too horny, but when it comes to reality (lights on at the end of the night), well, you can imagine :) By the way, to that Chinese FAT&ugly guy who wanted to fight me the other day: I understand why you did that, everytime you look in the mirror you become frustrated, so you better feel a man saying people "you have a problem?". Last saturday was my first time visiting this establishment. Friends had told me about Havana House's "Bay Of Pigs" and the dj's great music selections from classic 80's to there latin cumbia vibes.Before I decided to visit this hidden jewel in Alhambra I decided to read other people's reviews.I read enough good reviews to drive to Alhambra and try a bay of pigs,listen to good music,and maybe enjoy a good cigar with three friends from out of town. We arrived roughly around 10:45p.m. I like arriving and taking advantage of the valet parking. The line was not to long,but I expected this especially with no cover charge. As my friends and I waiting in line we noticed the line getting longer and then a second line started to grow.As time went by we noticed the doorman letting curtain people in which by the way they where greeted seemed like regulars which every bar has and is understandable. One hour and a half goes by wating in line and it seemed virtualy impossible to get in and let alone to get a resonable and respectable answer from the doorman.Seeing him turn down and making groups of young ladys wait who usually get in sooner then gentlemen was very surprising.One hour and forty five minutes later after enjoying the music waiting patiently in line outside and watching groups of people walking either to there cars or other bars on the block we finally where let in. We decided to go straight to the bar and have some drinks.After waiting in line for such a long time I really enjoyed the quick service from there bartenders.The drinks where fairly good and the music was great. I mostly go out to bars and lounges in the downtown area.I was looking forward visiting Havana House and driving to Alhambra for the first time.As I waiting in line for such a long time I started to think about Hollywood and the reason I don't go there anymore.The doorman greatly reflects the owners and managment.Thanks to the doorman Jerry I believe his name is,I'll stick to downtown. more

I went on a friday night with my sister her husband and my friend. They didn't want to let my friend in because he was wearing baggy slacks and he was bald. Mind you, he has worn this attire to 100x much nice clubs. Yet the bouncers were wearing the same type of baggy attire with bald heads. The bouncer was rude and ignorant. I tried to reason with the man but obviously common sense was not a requirement for getting hired. My friend had to change pants and was finally let in. But this had ruined the night already for us. If a bar wants to make a good impression they should really consider who they put infront to represent them. And this is not that nice of a bar to begin with. Drinks were not strong at all. This place is the so rocking on Tuesday's... it's amazing how many people come here. It's a little crowded inside, but plenty of room to move around. It was a bit tough getting in, but because we weren't bald or had on baggie slacks we got in pretty quick.... and i'm glad they turn away all those gangbangers, they all therefore hang out at the bar down the street. But all the girls know to be at Havana... They have Power 106 Dj's there on the regular and the Bay of Pigs is the shittt..... A really cool place to hang out with friends and meet cute guys. It's really happening on tuesday nights and they have live bands on wednesdays. The music is probably the best part, all the DJ's play the coolest songs and for being a small place they have an awesome dance floor. The drinks are super too. more

This is one of those places where you go when you don't want to be seen, but you still want to have a drink and have a good time. It's not trendy to me at all. It's very down to earth. It's perfect for after work. At times, it's been good and others bad. With enough time, though, all bars attract some slime. Havana's is no exception. It has good and bad days. I recommend the 'michilada' and the 'bay of pigs'. Non-smokers beware: the place is small so the smoke will permeate your hair & clothes. All in all though, I like it. They are rude, cocky, and have no common sense, they are constantly denying people so they can earn extra money from us. Give me a break it's a cigar/bar, and it is not a located in the Hamptons! No cover charge is great, if you like being in a crowded establishment. Bar area was too crowded to get to; took about 15 minutes to order drinks. Dancing? Ha! Good luck. If you like dancing with elbows in your ribs, you'll love this place. It's over crowded and stuffy, since the "dance floor" is on the "patio" area they have no kind of ventilation. The only thing I like was the music. If you're there to sit (if you find a spot) and listen to music, you'll enjoy it. Other than that, it's not a place I'd recommend or go back to. My friends have been wanting to come here because the music always sounds banging but we always go to the next club instead...there is a long wait and the bouncers are so rude! This is last place you'd expect to be "SNOBBY" yet, it is! Havana House is one place that you should NOT go to unless you aren't a group of Latina females of with fat bellies hanging out from their shirts; well if you're into that, then feel free to go, but even if you dare, you will definitely be discriminated by the bouncers while waiting in the line. It doesn't matter who was there in line first, the bouncers will EXCLUSIVELY hand pick who goes in, and the people they let in are the fat-bellied girls that are already drunk! In my personal observation of the "EXCLUSIVE BOUNCERS," they let those "types of ladies" in ahead of everyone else, so that they--the bouncers--could take advantage of them later when those girls get even more drunk; they see them as "EASY TARGETS". I've seen this happening there plenty of times there. I'm not going to lie; I used to be a regular at this place, but seeing and experienceing all the disrespect and lack of customer service from the employees has definitely turned me away from this bar for life! ADVICE FOR ALL: Ladies: No matter how good looking and smoking hot you are, if you don't give the bouncers any attention, or if you have a boyfriend, or your not like one of those described above, then you'll be on their "D-List" Men: HA HA HA!
