No thank you! 5/10/2016

I met Dr. Lane in the hospital and was immediately impressed. Unfortunately, this was the first and last time I saw her. We were bounced around between NPs the whole 8 months we went to this office. We were reintroducing ourselves each visit and giving each new NP his medical hx over and over. At his 3 day appointment I was told by the NP to QUIT breastfeeding because I was starving my child. He had lost a few pounds. As a first time mother I was devastated and quit. I was never offered advice, lactation consultations, etc. Just told to quit. Vaccines were commonly out-of-stock so my son was behind on these. For months we were given rx after rx of antibiotics for an undiagnosed, worsening cough that my son suffered from for over a month. It got so bad he was unable to breathe at times. We were never offered any tests to diagnose it, but instead were given antibiotic after antibiotic. A second opinion at another provider discovered it was viral! The NP that originally told me to quit breastfeeding would ask why I had quit breastfeeding at each following appt when we saw her. I left many appointments crying and feeling like an unfit parent. The final straw was when this same NP came into the exam room where me, my son, and son's father were waiting (my son's father was present at nearly EVERY appt) and looked at my son's father and asked, "Are you the dad?" I thought this comment was out of line and inappropriate. We were never seen at our appointment time. The wait usually was around an hour. Once it was nearly 2 hours. The waiting room is very small and cramped. It's very uncomfortable, especially if there are rowdy children or sick children present as well. Any time I called with a simple question, the receptionist's response was usually "do you want to bring him in?" My question was usually if his symptoms were worrisome enough to merit bringing him in, but the response was always "do you want to bring him in?" I have compared notes with other parents and found that my experiences are not unusual for here. more

Love Growing Kids Pediatrics!!!! 8/10/2015

I cannot begin to express how blessed I feel to have a pediatrician like Dr. Lane at Growing Kids Pediatrics! I have never once felt rushed through a visit and am grateful for the time she spends with me and my children during our visit. Dr. Lane, being such a wonderful Godly and motherly example to me and my children, has blessed me more than words could say! So thankful for her and her practice! more

Need to revise my review from yesterday ... 5/9/2015

Some of what I said yesterday was due to being upset over how a particular office worker treated us . And while it was true it wasn't really giving the entire place as a whole a fair chance . I believe the Dr and staff are knowledgeable and do care a lot about kids. Most everyone is always nice and caring and the new practitioner is Amazing . While there are a few mishaps that have bothered my spouse and I there , I think we will possibly reconsider going somewhere else bc once I voiced concerns they were heard and taken seriously . I would like to remove the previous review however don't believe there's a way to do it . more

Not very pleased with this office at all. 5/8/2015

First off another reviewer is correct when they spoke about the Dr. She seems all over the place . And I get that a children's doctor may be a bit silly for the kids but it borders on unprofessional bc it seems the appt is not being taken seriously . My next complaint would be the hours . 9 am is a bit late to be starting the day I think . I may just be spoiled coming from a very nice pediatric office that opened at 7 am and also closed much later . But I bet a lot of oarents agree it would be much nicer to open earlier. Also when I'm calling and the answering service and not the office is answering the phone at 9:15am something is wrong ! My family also had a bout with strep and my baby was showing signs too. I asked that my baby be tested bc I didn't want join getting his immunization a that day if he might have strep. I was told babies that age don't get strep. We'll guess what he did get strep! 4 days later I brought him back and made them test him bc he was getting so sick and sure enough he had strep. This was not a dr this time but a nurse girl that said he couldn't catch it. Also the front desk lady talks extremely loud . Even if you're the only person in there . It's literally like being screamed at but at least in a happy voice . If your child is sleeping in their car seat and you go in for an appt you can pretty much guarantee they will get woken up the second you go to check in. And I almost forgot . My youngest son seemed to be getting awful lot of shots at the time and I questioned this bc our past pediatrician had shots with several medicines combined . When I asked about it they said oh only certain insurances cover the combined shots. We'll we have great insurance so I asked if they would check to see if our did .. And of course it did. So here my poor baby was getting extra shots that could of been combined all bc they didn't check if our insurance covered it first . I'm sure the office does care about children and wants to help but there's just to many issues we've dealt with for me to continue to want to stay there. My husband is not pleased with it either . more

I heard of this practice on WAYFM and liked what I heard about caring for the whole child, not just physically. So i switched from my old pediatrician and have been in the office a handful of times and was pleased. I had my license taken away for driving without insurance and can't get my children to the office before 4:30 pm because my husband works until 4pm. My 3 year old needs her immunizations and Growing kids refuses to see us at or after 4:30. I explained my circumstances but the office staff member and manager told me they are bound by an office policy and cannot help us. I thought since I heard their ad on Christian radio that they would be understanding of my situation. They were not understanding even though their website says they are open until 5pm. I take responsibility for not being able to drive, but growing kids refusing to see us during their posted business hours is a choice they are making. My child is going to suffer if she gets sick, unless I change doctors. I wish it was not this way, but my only other option is hiring a taxi to take me to the doctor. My circumstances won't be this way forever. I get my license back in March but I don't want my baby to be behind on her shots. She might get some terrible illness between now and March. The office manager told me to get someone to bring me during the day, but everyone I know works. Why can't this practice provide for my families needs? They could but are choosing not to. I have to do what is best for my family regardless of how well I like an advertisement. Sorry growing kids, this policy and your inflexible mindset has lost you a Christian family of 4 children. This policy should be re-evaluated more

Top-notch pediatrician! 12/19/2012

Christy Lane has been our children's pediatrician for over two years now. Her style is laid back and easy going (versus stiff and impersonal), and our children respond in a highly relaxed and positive manner towards her. Her well-child check-ups are thorough, and she is more than willing to answer any questions I have posed to her without seeming hurried, bothered, or disinterested. The office staff is not necessarily all smiles and rainbows, but then again, neither am I. They are, however, highly professional and accommodating. We have never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for our scheduled appointment, a fact I truly appreciate. As well, Dr. Lane has called me back on more than one occasion in the middle of the night after I've left a message with her answering service regarding an urgent or worrisome medical situation. Knowing that your doctor is in essence on call and taking your concerns seriously 24/7 results in peace of mind that is priceless. Dr. Lane is a gem and I wholeheartedly recommend her to others. more

Worst Doctor!! 3/20/2012

WARNING!! This was by far the worst experience I have EVER had with a Doctor. The office staff was VERY RUDE and I believe the Doctor herself is probably ADD. She was very much unfocused on my child, in-fact I think she might have made eye contact once. However, I thought maybe she was just having an off day, so I would continue to take my child there. I had an urgent matter in which I called for help and guidance; I was hung up on by her staff, after being told "it’s not like your child's going to DIE (I was just a concerned parent, who's child had started a new prescription) I tried to contact the DR. to inform her of my issue and how I was treated. I tried by phone, e-mail as well as a written letter...with NO REPONSE...I find this to be highly unprofessional. more
