Don't believe DebbyAsh - I was in lobby checking in! 8/19/2011

I was outraged when I read the review posted by DebbyAsh because I was in the lobby of the Greystone Inn when this incident occurred. This woman was rude, rude, rude to the staff, and completely unappreciative of the staff efforts to find her a double smoking room when the entire city was sold out! I must confess it was interesting watching this scene playout, this woman has omitted numerous facts in her ""review"". This is what occurred as I witnessed it: a couple checked in, and shortly after going to their room they called the front desk. From what I gathered they were in a non-smoking room and had requested a smoking room. The woman behind the front desk explained, very nicely, they only had a single smoking room left and would be happy to move them. From what I could overhear the people refused to leave the non-smoking room, and the front desk staff finally dispatched the security officer to the room to escort them from the room. Once the security officer left the lobby area, the front desk staff immediately called several hotels looking for a smoking double for these people. I was amazed they were able to find one within a few minutes. Not only did the front desk staff find a smoking double room for these people they informed the person they were speaking to at the other hotel that the Greystone Inn would pay the difference between the room rates. I witnessed the front desk staff finalizing these arrangements, including giving cash to the security officer to take to the other property (which was apparently several blocks away) to pay the difference in the rates at the Greystone Inn and the other hotel. What makes this situation particularly fascinating to me and my family is: we had made reservations at another hotel for that evening. However, when we went to check-in, the hotel had no record of our reservation even though we had a confirmation number. This hotel made no effort to find another room for us, in fact told us we wouldn't be able to find a room in Great Falls because the town was completely sold out! And, they certainly didn't offer to pay the difference in room rates for us. The final act in this incident was a friend of DebbyAsh also witnessed the entire scene. When this ungrateful woman left the lobby to go to the other hotel, the friend stepped in front of us to the front desk and said he had seen the room and asked if he could rent it! He also told the woman behind the front desk that the reason DebbyAsh refused the single smoking room was because she had invited him and his friend to stay with them that night. That is why she was insisting on having a double room. She had told her friends that they didn't need to rent a room they could stay with her! So, it certainly seems as though the Greystone Inn offered adequate accommodations to this woman, but she was trying to sneak two additional people into her room so they wouldn't have to pay for a room for the night. I would be happy to discuss this incident with anyone who is interested in what I witnessed that evening. more

Worst hotel ever! 8/15/2011

Worst experience ever! After making a reservation a month in advance for a smoking double room and guaanteeing it for a late arrival we found we were in a non smoking room; We promptly called the front desk to see if we could make arrangements for the smoking room we had reserved. We were told there were no othe double smoking rooms, only a king smoking room. We had three people so simply said we would not smoke on the property. The manager told us we could not stay im the hotel if anyone in the room was a smoker, regardless of whether they smoked on the property or not. We said no, we would not smoke at all but were threatened with the police if we did not vacate immediately as smokers werre not allowed in the room,,,,doesnt matter that they are not smoking. Also, we were quoted a rate of $55 and upon arrival were charged $75. Because of the threats we left the hotel, and were promised a refund. During the refund process we lost $5. in the transaction due to the exchange rates. I would suggest not staying at this hotel. We knew others staying there and had to pick them up in the morning. We noticed four people smoking outside their rooms with the manager sitting right there. This was a scene right out of a crazy movie...DO NOT STAY AT THE GREYSTONE more

Staff Has Great ""People Skills"" 10/8/2008

The staff at the Triple Crown Motor Inn do an outstanding job of making their guests feel welcomed the moment you enter their lobby. They make it clear with their enthusiastic greeting that you are not just another nameless, faceless person as so often happens at the major chain hotels.\r \r They pride themselves on providing their guests with a clean, quiet, safe environment and, they exceeded my expectations beyond my wildest dreams (and I'm very, very particular)! My room came with hardwood floors (nice touch), original, signed artwork above the king-size bed (complete with memory foam mattress), and plasma style fireplace (which acted as the heat source for the room.\r \r Best of all? I received all of these amenities and service for under $70.00 per evening! A bargain at any price. I have recommended the Triple Crown to several family members and friends who have been equally impressed. Pros: Ambience, Customer Service, Plenty of Lighted Parking, Unique Rooms more

WOW - Their Moto Is True; They Do Offer Exceptional Customer Service 8/8/2007

I landed at the Great Falls airport several weeks ago for an overnight stay at the Triple Crown (on my way to Glacier National Park). Took a taxi to the car rental agency where I had an SUV reserved. It was closed! They had neglected to tell me they close early on Saturday afternoon. I was at a complete loss when I entered the Triple Crown's lobby; I didn't know what to do - I was stranded. When I explained my predicament to the General Manager she immediately got on the phone and called several other car rental agencies. In less than five minutes she had located an SUV for me, exactly what I was looking for (and, at a better rate than the one I had reserved). That's what I call great customer service! And, by the way, their rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet ... they offer great value for the rates they charge. Whenever I'm in Great Falls, I'll always stay at the Triple Crown. Pros: Exceptional customer service, hardwood floors, memory foam mattress & small continental breakfast Cons: Remodeling projects are nearer the start rather than finished stage more

All In All, A Very Pleasant Experience! 6/27/2007

We just returned from spending two days and three nights in the fair city of Great Falls, Montana. We enjoyed our time very much and found the people we met to be very friendly and helpful.\r \r The staff at the Triple Crown Motor Inn was very good in providing us with directions, recommendations on where to dine and shop, and suggestions on what attractions to visit. \r \r Glad there was no sales tax on purchases, and we were not charged any duty or tax when we returned to Alberta.\r \r All in all, a very pleasant experience made more memorable by the friendly, courteous staff at the Triple Crown and the ten percent Canadian Tourist Discount for our lovely room! more

Great Accommodations, Outstanding Value, Wonderful Customer Service! 5/2/2007

My room was very clean, spacious and even had laminate wood flooring, beautiful marble tile in the bathroom, and best of all, an incredibly comfortable memory foam mattress. The downtown location was convenient and the staff was very accommodating. The world should know how pleased we were with our stay at the Triple Crown - this is Great Falls best kept secret! Our thanks to the General Manager for providing us with a great rate and then, over-delivering on her promise to provide acceptable accommodations. When a motel provides clean, comfortable and inexpensive accommodations such as this, the public should know about it. I highly recommend the Triple Crown Motor Inn! more

Great Customer Service 5/2/2007

We have just returned from a week at the Triple Crown Motor Inn in Great Falls, Montana. The motel is currently undergoing exciting renovations, but more importantly, we have never experienced such incredible customer service before. \r \r The staff was so charming and personable that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the motel to visit the museums and downtown restaurants. When we checked out, the General Manager shook our hands and thanked us for staying at the Triple Crown, informing us that it was an honor to have us as their guests ... what a lovely touch. After interacting with their staff all weekend its easy to see why former guests send them thank you cards, flowers and candy as tokens of their appreciation for the outstanding customer service they received.\r \r Overall I would say this is probably the best motel we have ever stayed in even though they have just started their remodeling projects - and we are very, very picky. We highly recommend that you give the Triple Crown Motor Inn a try whenever you are in Great Falls - we are confident you'll be glad that you did!\r \r \r Pros: The effort the Triple Crown staff gives to its customers to ensure they are comfortable, happy and well cared for is exceptional! Cons: The property has just started its remodeling process, anxious to see how the staff pulls it all together when its completed. more

Great! Great!! Great!!! 4/7/2007

While traveling from Los Angeles, California to St. Paul, Minnesota we drove through Great Falls, Montana. We saw the Triple Crown Motor Inn's large front sign saying "Check Out Our Great Rates", so we decided to stop in. Are we ever glad we did! We have never felt more welcomed and special than when we entered the Triple Crown lobby. This motel's staff really succeeds in conveying to their guests that it is their honor that you have chosen to stay with them. Even more pleasing than their war welcome was our room - simply gorgeous! Our room was the first they remodeled; and, although the new furniture had not been delivered yet, the room was lovely. Beautiful faux finishes on the walls, wood flooring in the room, and really nice ceramic tile on the bathroom floor (it even had a new 27' flat screen television). Starbucks Coffee is served in the lobby with fresh fruit in the morning and cookies in the evening. The local newspaper was delivered to our door in the morning. We could go on and on complimenting the Triple Crown, but suffice it to say this motel supplies a lot of value for the surprisingly affordable rates they charge (our room was $49.95). Whenever we travel anywhere near Great Falls we intend to stay at the Triple Crown - we are anxious to see the end result of their remodeling plans (they have some very exciting plans on the drawing board). We suspect that when the renovations are completed, the Triple Crown will be the place to stay downtown. We highly recommend the Triple Crown Motor Inn to everyone. Pros: Convenient location; outstanding customer sevice; exciting renovation ongoing; excellent value Cons: No pool or restaurant; but many fine restaurants nearby more
