Editorial review from Citysearch 8/19/2013

The salesman was knowledgable and helpful. Even though the exact model with the features I wanted was not on the lot, he was able to find one in the area and later procured it that day. I got a fair amount on the trade-in and also received all available discounts. I'm very happy with the treatment by all concerned at the dealership. more

False advertising! 4/3/2012

I make 32K a year with fair credit. I saw their commercial that said ""if you have $100 down and make $350 a week"" we will put you in a car. So I called and they said I would have to put $2000 down and that my income was too low for their cheapest car. This ""Christian establishment"" is as dishonest as the church. more

Professional con artists. 2/11/2012

I wish I'd read these reviews before wasting all of this time dealing with them, getting my wife's hopes up, and in the meantime ending up without a car at all. My wife has bad credit, so we were pleasantly surprised when Ron Morgan called us on the phone and said that she'd been approved after we gave him all of her information. We immediately drove there (about an 80 mile drive) and got stuck for hours waiting on paperwork and such. We gave them all of the info they requested, and at the end of the day, she signed a conditional contract. Before signing, however, I did ask Travis, one of the finance officers, what the chances were that they'd call us and demand the car back. He said that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing. Well, turns out they didn't. We get a call saying that they needed more info from her, that they entered her income incorrectly. We drove back up, where we were told that she could not get a car unless someone cosigned with her due to her income. Since I had a job at the time, I cosigned. Well, ended up losing my job before everything was said and done (go figure), so my wife's brother came to the rescue and volunteered to cosign. Mind you, his credit and income were much better than mine, so there shouldn't be a problem, right? Wrong. While my wife was in the bathroom, Ron Morgan comes up to her brother and says there's no way they can make this deal with with the Kia Soul we'd been driving for two weeks. He said they could put her in a used Chevy Aveo, but didn't know if they had any (yeah, baloney). When my brother-in-law asked Ron what else they had that she could buy, he said that the Aveo was it. It was at this point I was called (I was at home). When my wife tells me about the Aveo, I immediately tell her to tell them that we'll just bring the Soul back on Monday and be done with them (Aveo is a junk car with a Daewoo motor). When they told Ron Morgan they weren't going to buy the Aveo, he got angry. Needless to say, a sale was not completed here. I would not recommend this dealership to ANYONE. Like everyone else here, they wasted not only our time but money (we had to buy full coverage insurance on a car we had two weeks). Save yourself the headache and just go to Carmax. Seriously. more

NO STARS - Lousy 12/31/2011

Lousy, they lie period. This so called family man puts a add on TV and just tells lies and tries to come across as a Christian man and family which is a big joke. Christians do not lie not a true Christian man.. So don't ever buy anything from this fraudster because all the ones I talk to say stay away you will regret it just like getting tires at Pet Boys where I got scammed big time, bunch of idiots off Charlotte Ave., ruined my rims, the fat mechanic busted my sensor on my new car that was on the rim and tried to tell me it was already messed up. Bunch of jerks, got the manager fired...! Thats what people should not go there run their business in the ground and the 1 person who said he had no problem is probably one of their lieing salesman.\r \r Oh truthchick is either his dumb blond wife, or idiot woman who knows nothing and doesn't work at a bank. If did would go buy a Lexus, or a Cadillac like I have, wouldn't buy a stupid kia. A Honda or Hyundai would be better than a l more

This place is a pro with the ""Bait & Switch"" trick 9/1/2011

recently my daughter wanted to purchase a new car from this dealership. I warned her of the negative comments, but she needed to find out for herself. And boy did she. Her salesman was an older man that had been working at Kia for a month. He was very pushy and arrogant. She picked out the car of choice, we went to see how close we all were in the numbers and this is when the ""finance manager"" took over. I can't remember his name, but I thought to myself he must have chewed a few too many mexican jumping beans. The man was running, jumping and skipping through the showroom. He was either excited about selling a car or ""something else"" was making him happy. Long story short....she was quoted a reasonable price for the car...but uh oh a snag, they needed more money down. She didn't more, well what's the next best thing...let us (the Kia men) have a copy of your boyfriends registration. WHAT! Oh it's for competitive reasons, were not going to do anything with it (?) Sure. When she refused to go that route, they amazingly pushed on thru with the quoted price. She was in a rental car and could not seal the deal that evening. She told them she would drop the rental car off the next day and be back to Kia. That was A-okay with everyone. See you tomorrow. Tomorrow rolls around and her payment per month was increase by $125. When asked why? ""the loan didn't get approved"" Whatever Kia man. The only reason you and your devious followers are in business is because there are no other Kia dealerships in town. Just remember one day there will be and You also remember...just how you treated these folks. Karma bites hard. This place does not deserve the one star I had to give it. Sad Sad, when people try so hard to take advantage of other people. more

This is the Car Dealership for Me! 7/13/2011

I have had great dealing with Hickory Hollow Kia from time of purchase thru servicing my vehicle.\r \r Chris was a great salesperson to work with and the process was an easy transaction.\r \r I love my Spectra - it gets great gas mileage, does well on the highway and a good dependable car.\r \r Johnathan and the service department are very nice to me. The pricing for service is very reasonable.\r \r My car currently has 50,0000 and when I purchase my next vehicle, it will be from Hickory Hollow Kia. more

$150 down and a job? 1/29/2010

This is not the case at all, on the commercials the man says ""do you have a job? $150 down? you can leave with a car"", that's not true (unless you steal the car). The $150 only applies to people that have a PERFECT credit score, anything less (and I mean anything) means you have to pay $1500-$3000 down. These people lie, and deceive people with their false advertising. They should be ashamed. Pros: commercials make it seem legit Cons: it's not legit, just lies more

Def Liars 9/28/2009

Like everyone else, Kia called my fiance and I back in saying we suddenly needed to pay more even though we had signed a contract. Our friends warned us they would do just that and both of them said when they were threatened they had no problem giving back the car if that was the way they wanted to do business. Ron Morgan said if it took a payment of $250 a month (what is what we could afford) to get us out of their with the car we wanted, he'd do it for us. Sure enough, just like everyone warned us, two days later they wanted $304 a month. Which is low. . . but we wouldn't have signed a contract in that case. And as soon as we put our foot down, they magically could let us stay at $250 a month. Hmmm. . . Pros: Gave me a car Cons: Just like everyone else is saying, called us back in more

They manipulated the system 8/25/2009

I went in to take advantage of the cash for clunkers deal, and I found a car at a price I liked and we signed a 'conditional contract' 'conditional' meaning, if my lender approved the financing. Well, I put my down-payment down and 2½ weeks later it hasn't cleared my account. So I call to find out why, and they say it's probably in processing, then I call on day 2 to my salesman and he says that they're probably still checking on different lenders, then I finally call on the third day and demand answers.\r \r Well, apparently on Tuesday (the day after the program was exhausted) they decide to tell me that I wasn't approved and that I would need a co-signer (who I had with me when I signed the conditional agreement) Also, my car wasn't approved for the clunkers deal because there was a 2 week lapse where I was late on registering it (admittingly my fault). However, I brought this to their attention before I left the building and they assured me that it would be ok and I need not worry about it, the sales manager even told me that if it was a problem they would just eat the cost (which I should have got in writing.) They then try to give me a slight discount, but not the $4500. And explain that they arent held accountable if CARS.GOV didn't pay them. Which it clearly states that they are. And they used the 'Conditional Contract' as their crutch which says nothing about the trade in or cash for clunkers on it, just referencing the financing which I can take care of. Either way I'm fed up with them and I'm getting my car back and buying from CARMAX who I hear good things about :) AND IT WON'T BE A DUMPY KIA.\r \r I can't believe I had to give them a 1 star. None Star should be an option. Pros: Cheap Car Cons: Cheap Service, Attitude, and Morals more

Great store to do business with!!!! 11/20/2008

I think it is funny to read all the negative reviews that everyone posts. I have been in the banking business for sometime now, and there is explaination for every ""complaint"" that everyone is posting. If you had good or even ""okay"" credit you would be able to get a car with NO money down. If you are required to put more money down than the advertised $149 - it's because you picked out a car you cannot afford to buy with no money down, or because your credit is so bad the bank is requiring that you put a large amount down to show committment to the purchase. If you have to re-sign paper work it has to with with all the same things. Car lots are in the business of making money, who isn't, and if they could put everyone in ""the car"" they wanted with no money down and never re-sign one document, they would. Customers are sometimes worse than the dealerships could ever be. You walk into the dealership because YOU WANT TO BUY A CAR! So let's try treating them with some respect for a change and not walking up to them thinking they are going to lie to you right off the bat. Yes there are some dealers that have people that work for them like this, but I am sure that they take care of each case when it comes about. I personally had an experience with this store and was treated with great respect. I also treated them with great respect. I purchased a pre-owned Kia and had to have some service repairs. The sales department worked with the service and parts department in order to schedule my appointment. I was not there the entire time they estimated due to the service tech working thru his lunch hour to help get me out asap. I think that you people may need to stop pointing fingers and look at how you acted yourselves. I am sure that had you acted in a different manner, you would have been treated in a different manner. I will continue to go to this store and would recommend anyone else with a sound mind to do the same. Pros: great people - professional Cons: none - more

LIARS!!!! 10/8/2008

First they talk me into a car that I wasn't sure about. Then they call me back 2 1/2 weeks later telling me that I need to sign a new contract (something about my income). When I refused to sign a new agreement and give them more money, all of a sudden my income was fine and they were holding me to the orginial contract. If I didn't keep it, they'd take me to court. So I took the vehicle,(still with the orginial contract) then about a week later, they call telling me that I have to bring it back. My income isn't going to work.. So they've not only wasted my time, but kept inconviencing me to keep coming down there. Pros: Nothing good about this place Cons: Everyone is rude and they lie more

WORST Customer service EVER 9/2/2008

They lie! THEY LIE! They totally pulled a bait and switch promising one price and gave us another. Then they sold us a LEMON! It has broken down TWICE in one week .... We have only owned it a week! That's right a brand new car that is a piece of junk! They refuse to fix the transmission! Which is under warranty! They claim it's the tires. Let's see... tires make the car decellerate, stall, not accellerate and shift. (It's an automatic). I may be a woman but I know better than to believe that! Plus they have refused to give us documentation on the first service call where I had the car towed in! That is a voilation of Tennessee law! We have talked to the sales managers, owner, everyone. I'm terrified to drive the car and they won't honor the warranty! 10 years/ 100,000 miles...... Try less than a 1000 and it's just a expensive peice of driveway art that we'll be paying on for years! Pros: The cars are the cutest peices of Junk! Cons: EVERYTHING!!! RUN away from them or you'll end up walking like me! more

KIA Hicory hollo and the terrible service and sales 7/28/2007

Hello My name is Jason. My partner has been looking to buy a new car so he visited this KIA location (Hickory Hollow) . He bargined and bargined for two days. He was still unhappy with the car they put him in. so he asked me to pick up his trade from this KIA location. So I did. I walked in asked for the manager Jason (not me Jason KIA Jason)who is the sales manager, He tod me he could not release the trade in car to me He could only release it to chad becouse it was his car trade. My name is the name on the car it was never registered in any ones name but mine. I told them that they then cused me out. I got smart back thats when another sales man ran up on me like he was going to fight me. This is not how business is done. Do you really try to keep business this way. They could have been polite and said have chad come in to see what better of a deal we can work out instead they were ready to kick my butt and cuse me out. How will that insure a done deal on a car that was not sold out fully.I would never buy anything or let anyone i know buy from this place . Pros: nothing Cons: everything more
