Great Valley Pet Hotel

My dog loves to go here. The entire staff is caring both to pet parents and pets. I do not leave my girl with just anyone, but I have no concerns placing her in their care. I don't know where the reviews stating they are not clean comes from, but I can assure anyone they sparkle. more

It is always obvious that all employees are animal lovers, and they know the ""regulars"" very well. My dog is always happy & Eager to arrive-he looks forward to it! Staff is caring & Attentive; plenty of psace; very clean. The staff is also very accomodating of last minute or emergency boarding requests. My dog love GVPH! more

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and professionalism that we received during our dogs' stay in your luxury suites. I have never been away from my dogs for more than 10 hours until my recent extended vacation. From the beginning telephone calls, I was made to feel incredibly comfortable and all my questions were answered before asking. Even my phone calls during vacation to make sure my dogs were OK were met with gracious warmth and assurance. Check-out was a complete sigh of relief as there were no complications or hold-ups. My dogs came home smelling wonderful from their baths and the most tired I have ever seen them due to the day camp. The following services were done above and beyond my expectations: having my credit card on file to expedite transactions, itemized receipt in plain English, detailed medical/veterinary knowledge of the staff, courtesy over the phone, and excellent grooming services! We will be using your services again and recommend your hotel to all of our friends and family! more

Your dog will love it!: This is a great overnight and doggie day care establishment. If you dog loves to run they have 2 acres of land for your dog to play. The staff truly love the animals and take great care of them. more

I've been a customer at Great Valley Pet Hotel for over two years and I am happy to report that I would not take my dog anywhere else. My dog has received excellent care while there each and every time. The staff is very friendly and they truly care about each and every dog that comes through their dog. My dog loves it there. I have been using Great Valley for about 4 years now...what a wonderful place...I have 2 Boston's that are as different as day and night...My dogs are happy because the staff is so attentive...the doggie day care is excellent and the dogs get lots of exercise....my dogs are very clean when I pick them up whether they are bathed there or I choose to do it myself...the toys and blanket that I bring are always given back and nothing has ever been lost...it is very important to find a good place for your pets when you go on vacation so you do not have to worry about them...and Great Valley is definately the place.... I boarded my cats here for several weeks and I can't say enough about the staff, the service and how happy and healthy my cats were when I picked them up. The staff was super friendly, polite and they really seemed to love and care about all the animals they board. They made sure my cats were allowed to roam around the cat room for at least several hours a day, which provided exercise and kept them from being in a cage all day long. The facility was clean and well-maintained, especially the grooming and boarding areas. Although I don't have any dogs, I noticed the large yard where the dogs were allowed to run and play and saw how the workers were there interacting and playing with them instead of just allowing the dogs to entertain themselves. more

I don't know what all these people are talking about. I am a crazy dog lover and owner. My border collie is my child, and although I have tried many facilities in the surrounding area, Great Valley Pet Hotel is the only place I will take her. I was very impressed when I first went to get a tour that you can pop in any time of the day to see the facility- an unusual occurrence at a lot of pet places. And despite randomly dropping in, the place was clean, and it has been clean every time I have gone back, which is at least twice a week for daycamp and that's saying something. The staff has always been warm and friendly and anxious to help me out in any way possible. They seem very knowledgeable about dogs, and all of them seem to have a true passion for them. The staff and the philosophy surrounding this place makes it really special. They do everything they can to make your dog happy. My border collie is very attached to me. When I left her for the first time boarding she was extremely scared. I called in every day, and the staff gave me progress reports. They did everything they could to make her happy. By the time I went to pick her up, she didn't want to leave! She really warmed up to the place and I know I have the dedicated, dog-loving staff to thank for that. I couldn't be happier with my every experience. And I wouldn't take Sadie anywhere else! Thank you Great Valley Pet Hotel! more

I had boarded my dog there over the weekend because i heard from a sourceb that Great Valley Pet Hotel was one of the cheaper pet hotels available. My dog was on medication for an ear infection and I was told by the manager at the desk that my dog would be in good care and they have a expierenced staff working there that give meds to the dogs that are boarding. When I went to pick him up during the week I was ignored for about 10 minutes while the front desk manager did paper work and answered the phone while I stood there. I understand if it was busy but I was the only customer in the building and generally people say somthing to you so you know your being helped. After the delay I received my dog and first thing I noticed was his ear was inflammed. It had looked like no one was giving him the medication I had left with GVPH. Then I come to find out they lost his ear meds and no one could tell me where they went??? The front desk was rude about it and very unhelpful and bascially telling me that they might have used it all up! It was a full bottle (expensive) and theres no way it would have been empty! The customer service was awful and made me feel like it was MY fault. The staff consisted of kids and obviously VERY unexpierenced! I will NEVER board my dog there again and i hope this review helps others as well. more

While we were away, there was an issue concerning our dog. The staff of this kennel did not even have enough courtesy to give us a call and we only learned of the issue because we called to check on our dog. Additionally, in my opinion, the adult staff member (may be the owner or manager) is the most obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful staff member that I have ever encountered! This kennel has lost our business - we will never go back. If you love your dog - do not send them here. more

I have recently moved to the area and I've been to a few kennels to see which one would best suit my precious dog. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like a valued customer. The one thing that stood out for me is that the manager never hesitated for a minute to take me for a tour of the facility, unlike other places I have visited giving me the impression that they had something to hide. Great Valley Pet Hotel was different. The entire place was very clean. The staff that was working in the kennel were all friendly and answered all my concerning questions. The office manager was very helpful too and took time to talk to me. This is the place I will be using in the future for my pet. more

From the moment I took my dog to inspect the facility, the general manager took a personal interest in him, so much so I was surprised to find out she was not the owner. The staff all knew my dog by name by his second visit and seem genuinely happy to see him. I particularly was impressed with their conscientiousness about his belongings, making written notes about what comes in with him. Everything is always returned and even cleaned! When I walked in the place smelled like wet dirty dogs... There was tons of feces dried up on a porch that I was told was not dog feces but goose or chicken feces for they use to house them on the porch.. I am telling you there was 3 feet deep of dried feces covering the entire porch.. That coupled with the rudest most disrespectful adult staff member (could have been the owner) that I have ever encountered in my life , I took my dog and will never walk in that place again...If you care about your dog while you are away don't send them there! Cons: Rudest staff ever! DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY tons of feces! more

We want to thank you for the excellent care you took of our dogs and cats while we were out of town. Your pet hotel is different from most kennels in that you clearly value the emotional comfort level as well as the physical well being of your ""guests"". The understanding that our animals would be carefully supervised and cared for while we were away greatly added to the enjoyment of the trip. We have been bringing our dogs to Great Valley Pet Hotel for over three years. It begins as we turn onto Davis Avenue. The boys go crazy with excitement. They love playing with the other dogs at day camp. The staff is very friendly and obviously caring. My dogs come home exhausted and ready to rest. This is the only place that I have found which has a night shift to let the dogs out before bedtime. One of our dogs requires special medical attention and Great Valley Pet Hotel has always done a good job providing it. We have always been pleased with the service and care our boys receive! Highly recommend to other dog lovers! more

The workers are irresponsible. My dog was bitten at the daycamp (puncture wound on her hip), I was not notified and I was fully charged prior to seeing her. The owner belittled the situation and offered no suitable accommodations or compensation. Another incident, my dogs were scheduled for ""day camp"" and left in a field for the day due to ""someone forgot to log them in for daycamp "". I am a true dog lover and have expectations for my dogs and this certainly is not a place to feel at ease when leaving your pets in the care of a ""professional""."" more

When I walked in the door the place smelled terrible, like wet dirty dog & feces. The front desk didnt seem to care much, about anything - they were ALMOST doing their job. They had a line of people waiting to check their dogs in and the receptionist couldnt have moved any slower. My trip was over, I went to pick the pups up - again waiting in line I watched a few people before me ask where was 'Sparkys' collar / leash the staff couldnt find it and didnt seem to be real concerned. I picked up my 4 dogs and all their collars with their liscenses and ID's were missing they told me I didnt leave them there - I know I did. The family I went away with boarded their dog there as well, when they picked him up - same story ""oh we'll call you if we find the collar"" when they get home their dog has hot spots all over him....which MAY not be their fault but in 6 years of that dogs life - he never had a problem.
