Disappointing to say the least. Service was very slow and not very good. I had to get myself a refill of iced tea. Food wasn't completely terrible but just not very good. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana and said he like Fazoli's fast food version better. I had a salad with a gross, baby poo colored house dressing and salmon cakes which were a bit burnt. Definitely not worth the price. Seems like they are a nice restaurant wannabe. I don't think even alcohol could have salvaged my experience. Don't waste your money here. more

Never had any problems with Grappa Grill personally. Food was good and the price was alright. Nothing special but nothing disappointing either. more

Worst Mother's Day Brunch Experience Ever 5/8/2011

We were taking our daughters and grandkids out for Mother's Day Brunch. I had reservations for 12 people and had made them 3 weeks before Mother's Day. We were taken to our table which was two tables across from one another. I told them that was not acceptable and I wanted one table so we could all eat together. Next, we went to the buffet line and there weren't any plates. We waited for clean plates for 10 minutes. Once they brought clean plates, then several food dishes were empty and we had to wait for them to bring more. My son-in-law waited 40 minutes in the omelet/pasta line to get his omelet made. The food was just ok, but they certainly do not know how to handle a large crowd for brunch. My total bill was over $200 and it was so not worth it. Never again will I eat at Grappa Grill. more

Easter Brunch 4/5/2010

I made a reservation for my family for Easter Brunch, some us had been there a few years ago for Thanksgiving and were very happy with the experience. First it took almost 30 after the reservation time to be seated, but it was a holiday and they were crowded so everyone was OK with that. The menu listed on their website which is what we used to base our decision on listed Farmhouse Chicken, there was none,when we asked we were told they did not have any, not they were out just there had not been any at all. Then when we went to get something from the dessert bar we were met by the most unfriendly rude woman I have ever met. Her sharp quick answers to questions were generally ""I don't know"", then she almost literally threw the dessert at you, she was even rude to my eighty year old mother. This lady must be related to someone because no good business person would keep her in there employ. One bright spot was the pasta/omelet chef, he was very friendly and very busy, he knew customer service. Overall if I went back for brunch I would go very early when the food has not run out, and if there is a particular item listed on the menu that is a deal breaker call ahead to make sure they have it. more

Bad Business, Good Food 12/18/2009

My husband and I were in possession of a $25.00 gift card to Grappa Grill. After we had ordered our food and were paying our bill we were told they no longer honored these gift cards and that we could be fully reimbursed at restaurant dot com. The problem is we paid $2.00 for the gift card and we were now stuck with a food bill that frankly, we were not expecting. Although the food was good and the service was great, this is poor business. It is their choice NOT to make these available at restaurant dot com but a wholly other thing to not honor something THEY CHOSE to make available. We were told it was b/c of ownership change but we had purchased this at least 3 months after the ownership changed. It left us very frustrated and disappointed in what we hoped would be a good experience Pros: Our server was wonderful, the food was good/average Cons: see below more

New Ownership, New Chef, New Look, New Grappa Grill! 11/2/2008

I had not been to Grappa Grill In years because of an unpleasant experience years ago. Recently I met some friends there for dinner and drinks. The management are in force at all the tables. They are asking the customers on what they would like to see in the reataurant. The place has been completely repainted and they were starting work on the outside of the building also. The food was delicious, had the chef special that evening and the service was outstanding. The new owner Jack even stopped by the table to thank us for coming in and to see if we enjoyed our meal. Can't remember the last time the owner of a restaurant asked me how my meal was. I don't know what has been going on here in the past couple of years, but I will be telling everyone I know about the new Grappa Grill. Can't wait to see the new outside of the building when it is completed. See you at Grappa Grill! Pros: Everthing more

Worst Time- Slow Service- Incorrectly cooked Steak 12/30/2007

Service was slow..Had to ask twice for A-1 sauce..Asked for medium steak and it came out, to our table, well done and dry, and still no A-1 sauce. Waitress finally came by and asked how eveything was, and we told her about the steak and still no A-1 sauce. Steak came back, this time by one of the managers..Cut it opened, and it was raw. Waitress finally brought the A-1. Steak came back and finally it was cooked right.The store manager did come over and apologise, and took our meal off the ticket. And after all that, it still took 10 minutes more for the waitress to get our bill. It shouldn't take this much just to get a meal. This is the second time in a week where the service was slow and subpar.I would not reccommend this place. Pros: Ambiance good Cons: Service subpar more

Good food, but best outdoor?? 11/5/2002

The last time I was at Grappa for dinner was over the summer, and like always, I was not disappointed. The wait staff was very nice and efficient, and the canneloni was incredible!! I tried ""Grappa"" for the first time, and though I felt like I was going to die after drinking it, our waitress took it off the bill since I, nor any human could really enjoy that stuff, whew!! The outdoor area is nice with all the plants and all, but gives you a breathtaking view of....the parking lot and rte 94. Also, make sure you leave before all the preppy foo-foo kids pile in at the bar area. They think they're at the landing. Shhh, don't tell them though. Pros: Food, Service, Golden Tee!! Cons: Late Night crowd, Shoddy wine list more

Friendly 9/21/2002

Grappa Grill has the most friendly staff around, always around for your needs and with a smile. The food here is very good as well. The have a pasta and salad special each day before 4pm. The Spring Salad with house dressing is fantastic. Rolls are always warm. They also have a lot of rooms available for meetings and private parties. i love the patio there it is awsome and the ambience is great, dont expect fast service out there, just expect a great experience. this is by far the best patio i have ever sat on, i would recommend it to everyone. more

Really Neat 7/27/2002

Last night my wife and I ate at Grappa Grill. I had the Salmon and Shrimp Streudle and it was unbelievable. The chef prepared a side of a potato crusted crabcake that was different and delicious. Talk about something different for St Charles. My wife had the lemon grouper and loved it. Grappa Grill is our favorite restaurant and we thought we should write about it.
