The new staff are awful! Service at Graf is not something they excel at; I waited eight weeks, yes two months, for lenses to be fitted into EXISTING frames! All I got was disrespect and excuses. There are so many other places for glasses and eye exams, go anywhere but Graf!\r more

While I was in town visiting family, I needed to get new glasses because mine broke. I am totally blind without them, so it was important that I got them ASAP. I was able to have my doctor at home fax over my prescription and they had glasses in cute frames with my lenses in them already. I was literally in and out. This was so helpful and the service was outstanding. I can't thank them enough for for being so efficient. more

BAIT AND SWITCH ALERT - RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!! 10/20/2011

BAIT AND SWITCH ALERT - RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN - THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!! They will Rip you Off and the coupons are misleading - Bait and Switch. The coupon says it includes contact lenses, but there is no way the doctor had any intention of prescribing the contacts that were part of the ""deal"". When I went to checkout - I found out if I wanted contacts I had to pay $70 extra ABOVE THE $99 I ALREADY PAID FOR THE GROUPON. When I inquired about just getting the contacts that were included in the ""deal"" the doctor proceeded to tell me how inferior the ""deal"" contacts are and how they will dry out my eyes. My question is - if these contacts are so bad, why did you include them as part of your coupon anyway. TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH - I wasn't even asked if I wanted to upgrade my contacts to a more expensive brand - the doctor just assumed that I wouldn't say anything and just pay the money. When I mentioned this to him, he became extremely agitated - like I was really annoying him. The rude guy in the sweater that was helping me also kept telling me how these more expensive contacts are more hydrating and that the contacts that are part of the coupon will dry out my eyes and are older technology - so, between the rude doctor and sweater guy, I felt ganged up on. AGAIN, why would a supposed medical professional offer contact lenses as part of a ""deal"" that he states will dry out my eyes .... Also, when I was checking out, there another female employee that had on grey low-rise pants, and when she was getting something out of a low cupboard her entire bottom was exposed - eewwwww!!! After getting mislead by a fake ""deal"" and ganged up on with the doctor and ""manager"" that was the last thing I needed to see. Graf prices for contact lenses are way more expensive than other places - I was able to get a years supply of the ""hydrating"" contacts for 2/3 of the cost somewhere else.Luckily Groupon refunded my money. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Clearly they are not in the business of helping customers with their vision needs - just making money off of you in anyUnscrupulous way that they can. more

Amazing Service! 9/2/2011

From start to finish I was more than pleasantly pleased with the selection of frames, convenient location, competitive prices, but most of all the personal, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service provided by the staff at Graf Optical. The staff went out of their way to make sure that I was getting the best possible deal and to work around my schedule, staying open late so I could pick up my glasses! My frames were even completed before the estimated time! When does that ever happen? more

We were relieved 7/26/2011

We didn't have a scheduled appointment for our 4 year old, but she was determined to have her eyes examined to be like her brothers, and Dr. Tyler willingly checked her eyes just to keep her happy. Much to our surprise, the examination proved that she needs glasses as well, which we were relieved to learn before she starts pre-school in the fall. more

Because he had heard good things about Graf Optical, he set it up for there. He told the staff that we were en route and depending on traffic, might be late for our appointment, set for 5 pm. He was told that the staff would wait for us, even past closing time. more

Very generous 7/19/2011

I have been to Grap Optical and Eric Tyler has been very, very generous to myself and numerous others living in my house with a pair of free glasses. We received terrific service, a great selection of glasses, and very friendly customer service when we went there. Our glasses got to us in less than three weeks and we had an order of over 30. Incredible! Will defiantly recommend to anyone looking for a place to get their eye exam and great glasses! more

Professional and patient 7/14/2011

The staff carefully read through our insurance contract to make sure we took advantage of all covered services, and that we knew exactly what was not covered and what our total bill would be. So, I'm actually looking forward to going in to Graf next week to pick up our new glasses. In sum, we'll go to Graf Optical in the future, and would recommend Graf to family and friends who need professional -- and patient -- vision care. more

Quality service 7/12/2011

For the next three hours, Dr. Tyler and his fine staff, including Nadia, Lori and Chris B., were completely focused on providing us with quality service. Providing eye examinations and finding glasses that my children liked was an enormous, time-consuming task, but the staff handled them with professionalism and patience for all of three hours -- until after 9:00 pm. more

The BEST experience 7/8/2011

I had the BEST experience with Graf Optical in Roseville. The staff was courteous, helpful, professional and FUN. I got my order in a timely manner and I love my new glasses! Thank you Graf Roseville-I will definitely recommend my friends and family to you and be returning for my eyecare needs in the future! more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - BAIT & SWITCH 6/12/2011

I purchased a ""deal"" from TwinCities Daily Deals - a complete pair of glasses for $29. I purchased it specifically because it clearly states that it includes ""polycarbonate and anti-reflective light weight anti-glare lenses"". My mom and I went to Graf Optical on Saturday 6/11 to pick out the frames and come to find out, as we were very rudely informed by their ""representative"", it was a ""misprint"" and they would not honor it. They would only provide plastic lenses and when she looked at my prescription she scoffed and rudely commented on how poor my vision is and that there is no way the thick plastic lenses would work so I would have to pay an additional $49 to get the polycarbonate lenses! At first I was confused and said ""well ok even if this is a misprint, obviously you will still honor it since it went out this way on a public site"" - thinking what kind of business would not honor something that went out on their behalf IN PRINT? She proceeds to tell me it's not her problem and that I should go back to TwinCities Daily Deals for a refund. At this point my mom and I are feeling embarrassed and just wanting to get out of this situation - honestly, what kind of person in a customer service position would treat potential future customers so horribly? I was stunned and extremely disappointed by the experience. DO NOT GO THERE if you value honesty, integrity, and respect from the businesses you purchase from. There are many, many choices in the Twin Cities for optical providers. Too bad Graf Optical fails to realize that people share negative experiences with twice as many people as positive - I will be telling everyone I know about this and posting it on every site I can find - in addition to filing a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau for their ""bait & switch"" shady business practice. SHAME ON YOU GRAF OPTICAL - you should be ashamed of how you treat people. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD! more

BEYOND TERRIBLE! 6/7/2011

First off, this is the first review I've EVER written for a retail store. Every bad review you see here is completely correct. Any good reviews are either from the employees themselves or from someone who lucked out. I'm beyond appalled and shocked at this point so I won't make this too long. Just suffice it to say that I ordered glasses 6 weeks ago, and it took them 4 weeks to get them in (when they told me it would take less than a week). When they finally did come in, the frames were bent. So they had fix them but WAIT! The guy that was in charge of that was on vacation for another WEEK! And it turns out they couldn't re-order them because they had been discontinued. If I would have known that, I never would have bought them! So another two weeks passes and they finally are done. But would THEY ever call ME to let me know? Of course not, I had to call in every few days to ask if they were ready. Today my husband and I went in to pick them up (six weeks after we had ordered them). Also, my husband was thinking about getting new glasses there when we first visited 6 weeks ago and after his exam, one of the technicians popped my husband's lens out so he could see what kind it was. In the process, he left a black mark on the edge that was visible from the front (we didn't notice it until we were home). So today, we asked if he could fix that and of course in the process of doing so he chipped the lens. Prior to this, I was already going to ask for a full or partial refund on my glasses, since they took so long. At this point, I figured they should go out of their way to refund us. Instead, the guy looks at my husband and says, ""Well, the bad news is I chipped your lens so you'll have to come back tomorrow and I should have it fixed by then"", meanwhile leaving my husband with no glasses which he needs in order to drive. Not once did he apologize. So at this point my husband was getting more angry by the minute. He approached the owner of the store and informed him of the situation. The owner was the most arrogant person I've ever encountered in my 31 years of living! He said and I quote, ""Not a chance that we are going to refund you on a pair of glasses that only cost $49.99 to begin with"". At this point, my husband got a little heated with him and the owner proceeded to get in his face (literally an inch away) and act as if he was going to push him or hit him. My husband stood his ground and said ""Go on, just hit me and see what happens"" The owner called him a ""co*ksucker and mentioned something about him having bad breath"". Anyways, you get the point. Completely unprofessional and appalling conduct by someone who owns a business and is supposed to uphold a high level of customer service (at least that's what they claim on their site). I'm still shaking as I'm writing this. I just wish someone would shut them down. Worst customer service experience of my entire life. Please avoid these people at all costs. more

Worst customer service I have ever had 2/23/2011

I joined citysearch just so I could write this review and warn people about Graf Optical. I went there to get my eyes examed and order a pair of contacts. Graf Optical has by far the worst customer service I have had from any company. I should have noticed the red flags while waiting in the lobby for half an hour past my 10:00 AM appointment. In that time I saw one customer leave because he was unhappy with the glasses selection, and heard another customer call up on the phone and demand a refund. (They wouldn't give one.) Once I finally got into the exam, it was delayed again while one of their machines malfunctioned. I finally saw the doctor, and he rushed through the exam as quickly as possible. Any questions I had were answered with abrupt responses. After the exam, I asked if he could check my current glasses for prescription strength, as I wanted to see how much it had changed. He told me a technian could do that, and then went to talk to the receptionist. He came back, and told me to go see someone else for the billing/ordering. I asked about checking the current glasses again, and he said the bulb for the machine had burned out and they didn't have any backups. So... then I met with billing guy. He told me my insurance paid for the exam, but I had to pay for the contacts. He rang up the order, and then some other guy told him that I was supposed to pay for the lens fitting too. It took them about 20 minutes to figure out how to get the order in their system. I was there for over two hours just for an updated eye exam and to order contacts. In the end, they charged $349 just for the eye exam and lens fitting! My eyes are fairly typical, so there wasn't anything extra with that rate. They told me they'd have the lens in about 3-4 days, and they'd give me a call when they were available. No call. Over the next seven weeks, I'd call every few days to check on the order. Every time, it was a different excuse. One time they told me it was just shipped, the next time they told me they were waiting for the order to be placed. Another time the guy blamed the person who does the accounting. Another time they told me ""We need to figure out where the hell your contacts are."" A different time, they said lost their credit card and had billing problems because of. One other time they said they had a bunch of customers calling them up wondering where their orders were, and they didn't know what the issue was. Every time I said I wanted to just cancel my order and get my money back, they'd respond with a ""We have a no refund policy. Our system won't even let us do that."" Never mind that I never even had the contacts in hand after seven weeks. Eventually the promised to order me an extra set of contacts for free as compensation for my problems. A week later they said they finally had them in stock. After seven weeks of dealing with Graf Optical, I was joyful to finally get my contacts and be done with them. I arrived at the store to pick them. Oh, they only had them in stock for one eye. Contacts for the other eye is on back order. They'll let me know when they are available. Yeah, right. more

Very frustrating 5 weeks since I ordered my glasses and they still are not correct. The doctor says he personally will correct them tonight....wish me well! more

I am a brand new Graf Optical customer but I look forward to many, many more years for my children and myself to be helped by them. The entire staff was helpful, funny and kind. I am a widowed mother of 3 and the care and personal attention they provided to us was exceptional. Dr Tyler went above and beyond to help my children and myself and I will always be grateful. Truly exceptional! Thank you so much!! more
