I've already recommended General Services. I had a carpet that needed to be stretched and cleaned, and I was very pleased with the work they did. It came out much better than I thought it would! I'd had the carpet for about six or seven years, and it had never been cleaned. It wasn't installed properly, so it was the worst. I called a bunch of companies, but many of them said they would subcontract the work out. I wanted someone to come out and look at it. General sounded very professional on the phone, and they came and looked at the carpet. They gave me an estimate and explained what they would do and how they would do it. They were very detailed, and I was very impressed! The carpet looked brand new when they were done! more

Excellent 2/27/2014

General Services has serviced me for over ten years. There was an intermittent point where somebody else took over and it didn't work out but Murray does an excellent job at reasonable prices. He and his wife are very nice to talk to. I feel like we're friends. more

Contentious. Courteous. Helpful. 2/7/2014

We used General Services to clean our carpeting for us. I was not home at the time but my 25 year old daughter was. She said Murray was very contentious, courteous and helpful. He gave her some great advise and moved all of the furniture. He really went the extra mile for us. Everything looks great. I would recommend them to potential customers. Murray is very trustworthy and helpful. more

The gentleman who cleaned the carpets was wonderful. 1/24/2014

General Cleaning and Restoration cleaned my carpets. They were very dirty, and Murray did a wonderful job. My neighbor recommended General when I saw her carpets and was impressed. She's a renter, so her carpets were pretty old and worn out. Murray managed to make them look great, so I knew he would do a good job! more

Great service, great prices and great job! 1/7/2014

I've been using General Cleaning and Restoration for about 15 years. Recently I had Murray come in to do work on a rental property because my tenants have a daughter who has severe allergies. They wanted me to pull up the carpets and put down the hardwood floors. I thought a good first step would be to have Murray come in and clean. He's been in the business for a number of years, and he also has consulted with hospitals about cleaning and indoor air quality. I knew he would be able to get the room clean and give the parents advice as far as ways to limit the allergies. I've continued to use General because of Murray's vast knowledge of all areas of carpet and cleaning, as well as the health-related issues to indoor air quality. He's done work both on my rental properties and my own home. He also worked for the mills, so when there was a problem with a carpet he would give feedback about whether it was a customer problem or a manufacturer problem. I would say by all means you should go with him! He's a certified cleaner with vast experience. He's very professional, very friendly and personable, and his prices are very competitive. more

Murray fixed my very dirty carpet. 12/5/2013

Years ago, I had a spot on my rug that would not come out. Murray, who is now the owner of General Cleaning and Restoration, came out and was doing research on the kind of carpet. I met him back then and later saw that he started his own business. When I had a very dirty carpet that needed cleaning, I called him. He did a really good job! more

I'm very happy with Murray's work and his service. 11/6/2013

Murray from General Cleaning and Restoration just came out to clean our carpets. He did the family room, living room, and entry area rug. He always arrives promptly. He's very polite and considerate and he spends time for a little personal chit-chat. He just always presents himself professionally and intelligently and he's sensitive and thoughtful. He has many qualities that I admire in him personally. I've known Murray since we were living in another home here in Foster City. We had just moved in and he started cleaning our carpets there. He cleaned them for twelve years. When we moved to our current home, he went through some business changes and sold his business. Since then, I've tried other companies and they just don't do as well. If a spot can come out, Murray can get it out. With other cleaning companies, they would say the spot was out and it would look like it was out and then a week later the spot would be back. I guess it's just in the way they were treating the carpets. With Murray, that's not the case. I'm just really glad he's back in business doing carpets and such. more

Only one I've ever considered to clean our carpets 10/31/2013

General Cleaning and Restoration has worked on both my house and my mother's house. Anything from yearly cleanings to accidental spills, Murray's always been extremely pleasant, hardworking, on time, and always managed to get whatever my kid spilled on the floor out. He's the only one I've ever considered working with our carpets. more

I've had General Cleaning and Restoration in my home before to do carpet cleaning for me. Based off of how well things went, I can say I am definitely going to use them again pretty soon. I have no reason to complain or try anyone else! more

Murray is the best. 9/30/2013

Murray of General Cleaning and Restoration did a job very well done. He was very considerate, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. He did some cleaning to the kitchen tile, the wall-to-wall carpeting, some furniture, and an area rug. Murray's the best. General Cleaning and Restoration are terrific and I couldn't be happier. The prices are reasonable, their responsive, and thorough. I'm sticking with them. more

We don't think of General Cleaning and Restoration by its company name; we just think of it as Murray. We like Murray. He's a nice guy and he does good work. He's in and out, takes care of the place, keeps it clean, works quickly, and does a good job. As far as rug cleaning goes. Murray is better than what we've had before. He's been here twice: once about two years ago and once just a couple months ago. It's a good service, good work, and a reasonable price. more

I have already recommended General Cleaning and Restoration several times because the work was marvelous. They cleaned my tile, rugs, and carpet. They came when they were supposed to, and they were very concerned about making sure nothing in my home got damaged or dirtied. Murray was very knowledgeable and forthcoming! more

I was very satisfied with their service. 8/2/2013

I used General Cleaning and Restoration for my carpet. I have had to use other companies prior to this and assumed the carpet was clean when they were done with it. I was very surprised in those instances by how dirty it actually still was. After they cleaned it, though, it actually was clean. It got wet and I used a white cloth to get the moisture out and the cloth was still white when I was done. So I know the carpet really was clean. more
