Not related to any service request - On 7/31/19 I had the unfortunate luck getting a flat tire on my way home from work. While pulled over on Shun Pike (Industrial Park), a GEM employee was kind enough to lend me assistance. Chris D., a plumber, saved me a lot of time and ache as I struggled with my car jack, and I'm grateful that he thought to stop and assist. Chris was also quick to notice my Veteran license plates, and thanked me for my military service. Chris was very pleasant, and because of his actions, and character, GEM will be the first company I think to call if I ever need services. more

Couldn’t ask for better service. Josh(the manager of my installation)phenomenal. His knowledge great,always courteous. His assistants the same. Josh and assistants seem to enjoy their work. Would recommend Gem to all my friends and neighbors more

I cannot give enough kudos to Gem Plumbing and its employees that work at such high standards. I had an emergency at my home last night at 10:00 PM after being out for the evening. There was a loud crash, and when I went in the cellar, I saw that my expansion tank had been blown off and flooded my cellar. I immediately called Gem and spoke to Danyell, one of the call center representatives, who understood my anxiety, and had one of the managers call me immediately, who sent Charlie, one of the plumbing techs out to my home. Charlie acted in such a professional and timely manner to evaluate the situation, turn off the water main, and proceeded to clean up the water. This morning I called Gem again and spoke to Nikki to find out when a tech would be coming out to install a new expansion tank. Charlie was back at my home in 20 minutes and installed a new tank, turned my water back on and was on his way. I cannot say how much I appreciate everyone at Gem for their first-class service. more

Recently, the gas company was servicing my mothers neighborhood, replacing all underground pipes and gas meters. When they got around to my mothers home, they noticed a small gas leak inside the home. They informed my mother that she would have to contact a plumber to fix the leak before they would be able to reconnect her gas service. The leak was in an elbow portion of a pipe and we were told by the gas company that it was an ‘easy repair’. My mother called upon GEM Plumbing and Heating to come out and fix the leak because they had done previous work in her home and she was familiar with them. To her disbelief, they quoted her $1,349 to fix what she was told by the gas company, was a simple job. GEM TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION (where my mothers gas service was turned off) and couldn’t be turned back on until repaired. GEM decided to turn this job into a ‘big to-do’. This put my mother in a spot. Thankfully, instead of just giving in and telling them to go ahead and fix it, she decided to contact another local and highly rated “Professional Company” to come out and look at it. They were upfront with her on pricing and it was on a per-hour basis plus any materials costs. When the job was complete, it cost her $247.00 and it took them a little over an hour to complete. That’s a whopping $1,100 less than what GEM was to charge for the same job/end-result. Incredible! Bottom line here, watch your wallet and by all means get a second quote before choosing GEM. I’d also like to mention that when the gas company came back out to turn on the gas, they had to inspect the repair work done because the gas was turned off when it was actually being repaired. They said that everything looked good and that there were no leaks. more

When our heater failed on a Sat., no other company even answered our call. Gem answered and promised service on Sun. They showed up on time, got the system running, and returned on Tues with new parts, spending 6 hours til the job was done. more

The technician was excellent and very clear through out the process of fixing my furnace. He also was courteous and prompt in getting the work done. His assistant was also a very good complement to him as he mirrored good training and work ethic. I would request them again to do any work. more

We relied on GEM Heating & Plumbing's technician Robert D. to address a heating issue we had just as the weather turned cold. He came to our house after hours after what sounded like an already long day. Professional, helpful and in a pleasant mood - very nice guy who quickly identified the issue and had us set up for a follow-up visit with the appropriate crew by the next morning. Brian has been my plumber for at least 15 years, he always explains what he is doing and why, he also talks to me about preventive maintance {copper to pex, etc.} His side kick Chris was also very nice and knowledgeable. I'm sure Brian is an asset to the Gem services!! Chris too!! more

Brian P. has been our plumber for over 30 years, we are very happy that he is still able to come out and continue taking care of our plumbing. He continues to provide fast, dependable service, and we would have been unhappy if we had had to 'break in' a new guy! more

Brian has been my plumber and water tech for a long time. He has always done good work as did his father before him. In this case, I'm an overseer of the property. He was there on time, did the jobs in a professional manner and cleaned up after himself. He has integrity. I do not have to let him in or lock up after him. It is always a pleasure to know that Brian Parmenter is coming to the job and will be on time and do it right. No call backs, he knows what he is doing. more
