Frederick Ast

Dr. Ast is a great doctor who is very good at what he does and he's very caring for his patients. Those qualities about him make him a great doctor. HOWEVER, his staff is VERY unprofessional and VERY RUDE! You would figure that they would know that they get paid because the patients come see Dr. Ast. But they are just deterring patients from coming to see him. If Dr. Ast were to be reading this review, I hope he realizes he could probably retain more patients if he fired his whole staff and hire staff people who are as good as he is. more

The new office is so much nicer than the old one, its rommy and plesant to the eyes. There is a beautiful fireplace...There was a wait period but its too be expected he is a great doctor. \r \r I had no problems getting front desk to answer the phone spoke to lovely lady she was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. \r \r When I got into the office boy oh boy synchronized madness, the staff works well together and there is a family feel to it. It warmed my heart to see how they interacted with the seniors. \r \r Dr Ast still wears his green uniforms and is ruffled but he is very straight forward.I will continue to go Dr Ast more

Their new office IS much better than their old one. Very low key though...no bs. The office staff is not overly friendly but fine. It seems like they have had their share of difficult people...I have heard a few while waiting for my appts. It does take some time to get blood results back, but, I think this is because they have the send them out. Dr. Ast gave me a form though that I can use at Quest so that I can go somewhere closer to me and get my results back faster. Personally, he has helped me in ways that no other doctor has. I totally agree with the previous post too, in that he has helped me with things that seem out of his area of specialty. Knowing what I know now, he has done things for me that all of my previous doctors should have done (ex. check for vitamin B levels, change from brand to generic, recheck my blood work bc something didn't make sense....) On a quick side note...I have been to drs that stink but have very pleasant receptionists...sometimes you have to pick your battles... more

Okay, the office staff wasn't great but the previous two reviewers probably need to be seeing a psychiatrist rather than an allergist. This doctor has several different offices. It says the hours on each business card for each location. Call during that time, it isn't so hard.\r \r I didn't have much direct dealing with Dr. Ast, instead I worked with his Physician's Assistant, Herb Chin. Herb was amazing. He called with results when they were pressing. Squeezed me in when necessary. Made great referrals and got to the bottom of problems I have been having for years that are partially unrelated to his area of specialty. I cannot express enough gratitude for his thoroughness and helpfulness. more

I am 48 yrs old & have seen my share of Dr's offices and Dr Ast's office staff rates the worst! It took me 3 days to finally get someone on the phone, they DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. One day I called repeatedly from 9-1 (opening and closing time) desperately trying to get results from testing & in a 4 hr window noone answered the phone. It took me a week to get through to his office! Several times they would pick up the phone and hang up. He has a staff of 4 women sitting at the desk and this is the best they can do? PATHETIC! Cons: Everthing! more

The office is small, filthy and un organized. Waited longer to see him then time spent with me. He is rude. His staff is rude and condescending. Was told to call back for results after a week! First of all the doctor should call you back with results. Secondly a whole week for results. When I did call they rudely stated that he was calling patients and to wait till end of day; at end of day as I had not heard from him I called again and they said all the charts are packed up as we are moving call back a week from now. No one told me that they were moving and this would affect getting my results. Carefree non-chalant attitude. Do not waste your time - go anywhere but here.
