Very friendly staff - in no way overly formal. Menu on the hearty side, no surprises which you might come to expect in this price range. Some of the food is very good, some of it is simply good. The wine by-the-glass list is small & basic :( but there is a good range by the bottle, in all price ranges. I think there are better values out there, but w/ so many locals coming , this place has got to be consistently pretty good. Amazing Find 1/7/2006

From the moment I came in and said my name, the maitre'd remembered my name the entire evening and made me feel extremely welcome. I brought my Girlfriend there for our anniversary and had an amazing meal. My girlfriend had what I would recommend everyone try at least once (the Rabbit Risotto). You could actually taste each spice hinted in the dish. The location is suprising as residential buildings surround it, so I am jealous of those residents as the food was fantastic. Highly recommended date spot. I am curious what anyone could say really negatively about this spot. Try it for yourself, and you wont be let down. Pros: Ambience, Food, Service Cons: Location more

It was my first time at Frascati, and overall the food was delicious. I had their Smoked trout salad to start with and the textures and flavors worked well together. The wine was excellent. The only caveat was my main course, I had the duck breast and the mushrooms accompanying the dish was extremely salty, certain parts of the breast was also heavy on the salt. Maybe it was just my dish, because my date's entree was fine. The dessert made up for it, because the bread pudding was heavenly. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My wife and I recently moved away from San Francisco. We love our new city, and our new mortgage, but we miss certain things about SF very much. One of these things is Frascati. If there is a better neighborhood restaurant on the west coast, please tell me where it is. Everything about this place exudes a warmth and charm that you don't often find. The fantastic food is always true to season and very fresh. The well priced wine list is awesome, and the knowledgeable staff is always there to help guide the selection process. I thought that writing this little piece might help me say goodbye, but in fact it has only made me miss the City more. So I guess it's time to check travelocity and see when the next flight leaves for SFO. Keep it up Frascati, we'll see you sometime soon. Pros: staff, wine list, tastiness Cons: take a cab, better yet, walk more

I find that I have discriminating taste, and this quaint restaurant met, and fulfilled, all expectations. I wanted to order everything on the simple, yet appetizing, menu. What we did order was exceptional (although I do have to admit that I've had slightly better duck breast elsewhere). Full and bold flavors without a pretentious overtone. Their gnocci appetizer was the best I've ever had...my mouth starts watering just thinking about it. This restaurant easily makes my Top 10 in the City. We invited some friends that are most discriminating to join us for dinner. Everything was perfect. The table location, lighting and ambiance were most romantic; the waiter was impeccable with his timing and proper attention; and the food was delectable. The menu was perfertly varied and as we had an individual with a restricted diet (pallet) who was elated with her dinner. The wine list has a balance of excellent wines and great value, especially for the city. Frascati is a great little reastaurant... we will frequent it often.
