I have a Pitt, who at the time (July 08) was about 7months. He had loose stool since the day I got him. The Vet, in Kenosha, gave me every medicine he could think of. The bills were over $800 and the symptoms only got worse; he a lot lost weight, and could not hold down anything he ate. I did not know what to do. One night I had to take him to the doggie ER in Racine, the kept him over night and gave him fluids through an IV, and some antibiotics. They ran tests for worms, parvo, and gieardia. All negative. The bill was over $400. I took him home, and nothing changed. I took him to his Vet and they did X-rays and an ultra sound. The Vet told me that he seemed to be obstructed and there was a large amount of fluid around his intestines. The cost of this type of surgery would cost me about 4 or 5 thousand dollars. I just did not have it. I called every vet in Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee they all told me the same thing. Care Credit was not an option for me because I am only 21 years old and a full time student (we don?t make the best decisions). No one would help me, and without the surgery my dog would surely die, or I would have to put him to rest. I started to call around in Illinois, and I called Fox Lake Animal Hospital, I spoke with Dr. Bo, on the phone he promised me that the cost of the surgery would not be over $1,000 and that I needed to bring my dog in right away, so I did. When Dr. Bo was all done with the surgery, he said that he has never seen a case like this before and that it was far from an obstruction, he ended up removing 9 inches of intestines, and all for $1,000 unbelievable. He saved my dogs life truly. There were no charge for the follow up visits or any medication. They are the very BEST. Not in it for the money, but for the care of the animals. Now my dog is 10 months and doing great, he will never be normal as far as his digestive system, but he is over all happy, and healthy. Now I have another puppy, and the only vet we go to.
Pros: Great People, Great Service, Hosesty, Cost Effective
Cons: Long waits, but still worth it!
