I've been going to Fox Lake Animal Hospital since the mid-1980s. Dr. Rudawski is wonderful. He isn't out there to see how fast he can spend my money, unlike most vets. He *knows* how best to treat my dogs without running lots of expensive tests and he only charges for what he does, not just for walking in the door. He also recently saved the life of a friend's dog for $50, when other vets wanted ten times as much.
The other vets in the practice however are trying see how much of my money they can spend--my dogs came in for a dental cleaning once and left with 14 teeth extracted (without my permission).
The waits *are* horrible and getting worse. Last 2 times I was there, the wait was 4 hours and yes, the staff can be rude. I think there are just more customers than they can handle and the staff is overworked. The parking is also very inadequate--often cars take up two spaces' worth and you have to park on the grass.
I always swear I'll never come back, yet I always do.
