Worst gym ever. 2/29/2012

Somehow my old review got deleted? Looks like they deleted my pictures, too. I'll repost and I'll try to rewrite: This gym is terrible. My credit card was stolen and so my automatic monthly debit charge didn't go through. Nobody bothered to tell me, and I was still allowed into the gym three times. Finally, someone mentioned that I never paid and I would be slapped with a late fee of $9. If someone had mentioned to me that my charge didn't go through, I would have given them the new card, and avoided all of this. I had to pay the late fee. I tried to leave a message for the manager to explain the situation but she never returned my phone calls. I called 4 times. I've heard horror stories about how she hangs up on customers. The gym is falling apart - holes in walls, holes in floors, broken dumbbells. The 5-lb dumbbells went missing and were NEVER replaced. EVER! There are rarely paper towels in the paper towel dispensers, and during the summer months it is EXCRUTIATINGLY hot and humid in the back room. The women's bathroom is always disgusting. They removed some of the lockers, leaving exposed insulation and wiring. Also, one of the bathroom stall doors fell off. It was left off for 3 weeks and after that, a red curtain took its place. Also, the toilets are ALWAYS clogged with toilet paper or... poop. FYI - two friends worked out together in the morning and the manager CANCELED their membership because it seemed like he was acting as a ""personal trainer"" to her and that is ""not allowed."" Both of their memberships were revoked. Ridiculous. more

WORST customer service, especially MANAGER 9/14/2011

I signed up for 2 year contract....but only went 3 months because i moved out....i called in to cancel....they said i cant...i was like okay, fine, i will take 2 year membership loss since i was the one who made the choice to sign up for the contract,....i took responsibility for my actions....i was told i will not get charged after 2 year... after 2 year...i still keep getting vharged..I HAVE CALLED 20 times to cancel over the phone..they say I HAVE TO COME IN to cancel....i am not in that area anymore....its immposible for me to just ""stop by""....I CALLED MANAGER 10 TIMES...she doesnt call back...when she finally called back...SHE WAS RUDE...AND HANGS UP...HORRIBLE..... more

Managers are worthless, gym is nasty! Don't go here! 6/29/2011

Out of all the local gyms that I have visited, this one takes the cake for WORST GYM EVER! Managers have no fu*king clue about customer service, or how to run a business. When you try and talk to them on the phone, they think they are some royalty... You own a piece of sh*t gym, relax a bit. Memebers are constantly charged late fees or other hidden fees and the staff members always hound you about stupid sh*t. Also, the place always smells like sweat, sewage and the floors are always littered or dirty. more

Fitness II (Fitness 2) is a gym that you'll regret every day that you signed up with them. I have been going to the gym for 8 years - I have been a member with them for 1 year, I had had enough with them. there are plenty of good gym's around, do yourself a favor and sign up somewhere else, you'll thank me. more

Fitness II contract traps customers complain to 845 798 7600 1/18/2011

Fitness II has many young customers, some students from Spring Valley. Many may be low income. Once a person fails to pay the $10 a month, it becomes extremely difficult to end the membership since it renews unless a credit card or debit card is possessed. I feel this is a trap to put customers in deeper debt once financial problems occur. The policy makes it time consuming and difficult to cancel membership. \r \r A CUSTOMER WHO CAN NO LONGER PAY THE MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE OF LACK OF CREDIT FROM A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD CANNOT CANCEL AT THE END OF THE YEAR. THE CONTRACT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW PUTTING THE CUSTOMER TO DEEPER DEBT. Even if the customer is able to come up with the money to satisfy his/her obligation, Fitness II will not accept the cash. \r \r If you feel Fitness II practices are abusive or if you feel that you may have been cheated, you can call the consumer protection office at 845 708-7600\r more

Bad Gym,, Worse Customer Service 1/22/2010

While speaking with the manager, and discussing a late fee on my account that should not have been there, she got frustrated and hung up on me. This was a manager. Rather than having a satisfied customer, She threatened to send my balance to collections for the amount of $9.00. Nine dollars. This being wants to ruin my credit over nine dollars. There are people suffering all around the world and this gym wants to cheat me out of nine dollars. I can afford to pay the nine dollars. But why should I pay nine dollars that I dont owe, especially after being threatened and treated like that by a manager at the gym. The Gym employees, (who dont care about anything, but i guess when you work at a gym for 3.50 an hour, waddaya expect.), had been giving me the runaround for a month, and in this months time, my fee went up another months payment. Cheaters, scammers, and thats how they make money. Karma is a bitch. Pros: A lot of equipment Cons: broken equipment, Angry, lazy employees more

Low Prices Includes Hidden Costs 10/25/2009

Fitness 2 might have the lowest prices, but their lack of safety and lack of integrity comes at a high price. Throughout the day, you will hear the nagging voices of the employees over the loud speakers, not to drop the weights. When asked why, they will tell you it is because it shakes the entire foundation of the building and will even tell you that it causes lights to flicker. This will never happen at any other gym because it is a serious safety issue. Furthermore, the managers and employees will watch you like a hawk to catch you on any little thing you do wrong, such as dropping a 15 lb. dumbbell. They will stare at you while you work out and will accuse you of soliciting personal training simply because you worked out with your friend. This stressful and unsafe environment is not conducive to a healthy work-out and is highly unrecommended. Pros: Dirt Cheap Cons: Hidden Costs more

Good for the money 2/24/2009

The gym is good for the money. It use to be better a yr or to ago when they had trainers that knew what they were talking about. The equipment is good and the gym is a pretty decent size. The crowd is mixed young old male female etc.. The gym is kept clean. They offer different rooms freeweights, machine weights, cardio equipment stretching room and a boxing room. The downside, however is the Female staff. The female staff are generally young and they come to work with chips on their shoulders. They have attitudes, they're rude and always seem to be preoccupied all the while your trying to enter the gym. Its not surprising the gym has a high turn around in this staffing area. For 10.00 a month you tend to put up with the attitudes of the female staff. Pros: membership price, location, and variety of equipment. Cons: Poor customer service. very rude and unpleasant. more

I don't know how they make $ here. I use the gym during the middle of the day, and it's never crowded. It's clean, really clean, the staff is friendly and the music is endurable. I suppose it might be more crowded in the early evening, but I don't use it then. Pros: clean, uncrowded, great choice of equipment Cons: no personal trainers available more

Clearly the owners of this gym wrote the other 2 reviews. In actuality, the gym is dirty, smells terrible and contains mostly older equipment. The only reason I go here is because I live nearby, and it is only $10 a month (the one positive). more

A Gym Membership for only $10 a Month! 4/29/2008

This gym has the top of the line equipment and free weights for only $10 a month.\r Anyone can afford this gym. I am very pleased with the service as well. Pros: Every piece of equipment you could ever ask for! Lot's of Parking! Cons: No classes more

Best Gym In Rockland County 4/29/2008

This gym is beautiful and it costs only $10 a month!!!\r They also have another program that includes tanning for only $15 a month!!!\r This is gym is really big and they keep it really clean.\r I am sooo happy I found this place! more
