First Place Management has been very good and very nice to me. If something happens around the house, they send someone right away. Sometimes, with my income, I can't turn in the rent on the 1st when it's due but they've been very nice about letting me turn it in a few days late with no late fee. Everyone in the office is really nice and very helpful and my landlord is wonderful. more

First Place Management Inc. is all around awesome! They installed some steps for us. They consulted with me to see if I wanted to make them less steep or implement any other changes. Everybody was very courteous, friendly and efficient. I appreciated how nice and considerate they were about not letting my dog out and making sure he was okay. The entire job only took them three day. It was a great experience! more

I just renewed my lease with First Place Management Inc. I lease a townhouse from them, and from start to finish they are awesome. They are very efficient, quick and knowledgeable. Any question I had, they answered. They were also very pleasant to work with, and they know the market really well. Whenever I've had a big problem or a maintenance issue, they are very quick to repair whatever the it is. When there was something wrong with my water heater, they sent someone out immediately even though it wasn't an emergency. If you go with First Place Management, you won't be sorry. They have lots of rentals, lots of selection, and they're really good. They have an attorney who writes the leases. It's not one-sided. He looks after both the owners and the tenants. I wouldn't hesitate to refer First Place Management! They are professional, efficient and knowledgeable. more

I can't believe how disgustingly unprofessional this organization is. My husband was being transferred from NH to FL, so this was not an easy move. He was living at an extended stay while we found a home, and I came down for a few days *thinking* all of our appointments were set up. I had been e-mailing and speaking to a girl named Kalen, 28 e-mails were exchanged. During that time, another person started talking to me and confusing things through the e-mails. Kalen blamed it in the ""new girl"". Well, that was fine and I moved on. We were set to view 7 properties. I figured out of that many there must be something. We had days set up (Monday and Tuesday) of that week. I was only down for a short amount of time, so each day was precious. Everything was confirmed. They even gave us the lockbox code to view a house on our own. Well, after a nice 20 hour drive to FL, SHE DIDN'T EVEN RETURN MY CALLS OR E-MAILS. I CALLED FOR 2 STRAIGHT DAYS AND NOTHING. The house we had the code for was a DUMP. Leaking cielings, collapsing porch, unidentifiable smells, cracks in the wall... it was an absolute horror. Turns out, they manage another house we looked at. It was a decent place. The rent was higher than most website suggested. Then we found out about the fees... ALL OF THE FEES. Let me start with the pet deposit. We have a dog and 2 cats. All have shining reviews from past landlords. I completely understand pet deposits. Pets make messes... but, they wanted a $95 PER PET background check. Does a cat honestly need a background check? Did he rob a bank? The application fee was outrageous. I honestly can't rememeber all of them, but there were plenty here and there. It was almost equal to first months rent!! Don't even bother. They are unprofessional and obviously have completely braindead idiots working for them. I only give them one star because the site does not allow 0. more

We were renting a property managed by First Place. They were pretty helpful and quick to send maintenance whenever we needed it throughout our lease. When we moved out, we spend hundreds of dollars in carpet cleaning and maid services, as well as materials to repair and repaint all the walls. Despite the fact that the house was move-in ready (as required) when we finally moved out, they withheld our deposit, falsely claiming that the property was dirty and in need of repairs. Even after we hired a lawyer, they still would not return the deposit owed to us. I'm sure management companies run this scam all the time, but I'm just sick that they did this to us and got away with it. more

Hard to get a reply to questions. Feel extremely rushed on the phone. Dont feel kept up to date with my property. more

I have had a few issues in the past, but not recently. I do feel as though the account is on auto-pilot. I would feel better if the property manager made several inspections of the property without me having to be in Florida asking for the inspection. Direct deposit of rent and online access to statements is a positive aspect of the property management. more

Everyone I speak with is knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with, promptly addressing my inquiries/needs, and always willing to be of help! Have used First Place for years. They are exceptional at keeping the property rented and setting the rent at competitive rates. They are also exceptional at bookkeeping, making end-of-year and tax calculations very easy. more

Have nothing good to write.manager never calls back nor e-mails back. No follow-up. Charged for services never explained. I could just go on about the poor service. There truly is nothing good to write about the company. When my contract is up I'm gone. Company should not be in business. more
