Servings are small, especially the appetizers. There is barely enough for two. Don't order the calamari if you expect a nice portion of little squid. Main dishes are interesting,...

Not Coming Back 2/14/2011

My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day and had an absolutely terrible meal with atrocious service. The $100/couple set price was exorbitant. When I asked the waiter for details on how a dish was prepared the waiter took the menu from me and read the description (NOTE: I can read), which he had clearly never studied. After running out of ingredients for one of the three main course dishes they were serving that night, my wife and I finally settled on the arctic char and rib-eye plates. I spend more time and energy in the process of chewing my flat leathery steak than the chef had apparently spent in culinary school. The manager (owner?) and waiter were ill prepared and conceited. I will not be coming back. more

Fabulous Dining Experience 12/5/2010

My husband and I consider ourselves to be foodies and are very selective about restaurant dining. We were blown away. I had the pecan crusted catfish (which I only tried because it is a house special), my husband had the NY steak - which sounded great, but I'm not a fan of the NY steak cut of meat. We also started with an appetizer of butternut squash ""doughnuts"" which the waiter recommended. All three items were flawless in their flavor and presentation. The chef creates an amazing balance of flavors that are subtle and others that are prominent. The waiter was attentive and informative and the overall ambiance was also quite nice - we also enjoyed the live music. more

Sunday Blues brunch 4/12/2009

Eating under the ""tent"" surrounded by beautiful plants made us feel like we were on a picnic. Brunch food was excellent and we ending up ordering lots of different things and sharing. But the best thing was the music. An absolute master guitarist played 4 different guitars and mixed up his originals with down home country blues. We didn't want to leave buy could see people lined up waiting for a table. We will be back. Pros: Loved the cinnamin rolls Cons: hard to park more

Great Location for a Girls Brunch! 11/29/2008

I hosted a Bridal Shower at the FireFly for my sister-in-law to be. We had about 30 people of all ages. The manager and waiter did everything to make our afternoon perfect. The menu had great choices that would please everyone's taste. They provided a beautiful spread of breads and fresh fruit as starters. They managed to serve everyone at the same time despite the various orders and party size and even packed up the cupcakes to take home. more

Bad Wine Policy...and Bad Food 6/11/2008

We were immediately turned off by this restaurant when the manager came over and said we could only open 2 bottles of wine because of their corkage rule. We were a party of 10 people celebrating a couple birthdays and about 4 people brought wine from home to open at dinner. The manager said he didn't care whether we were a party of 50...there is still a 2 bottle corkage limit. We all thought that was a little rude and a bad way to welcome a big dinner party to your restaurant. So, we opened 2 of our bottles and then bought 3 bottles from their wine list. These wines from their wine list were less than desirable. I felt like asking the manager if I could just pay the average $45 price of one of their bottles so that I could open up another of our bottles that were far superior.\r \r On a side note, we got to talking with another guest at the restaurant who was there for a wedding party. She said that their dinner was a disaster because the executive chef never showed up and the food was 1 hour late and burned.\r \r I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. BAD WINE POLICY...BAD FOOD...BAD SERVICE...RUDE MANAGER.\r \r Pros: Nice ambience and Patio Cons: Bad Wine Policy, Bad Service, ok food more

Good food, don't over think it. 2/22/2008

I made an account on city search just so I could write a review about Firefly! I've been there a handful of times and always have had a good meal. On my last visit my Boyfriend and I shared the grilled endive salad and it was delightful, the smoked blue cheese and the almonds.. yumm.. such a good pairing. For our main course I had the braised pork and he had the smoked rib eye. The pork was so tender and the rib eye was cooked perfectly, with just a hint of smokeyness that didn't over power the meal. We loved both dishes and just about licked our plates clean. Service was pleasant, even though it was a cold night and the restaurant is under a tent it was still nice and cozy. I've only been for dinner, one of these days I'll get around to coming for brunch. The west side can keep there pretentious restaurants. I highly recommend firefly for dinner. more

Speechless... 11/12/2007

Can't believe MSN CityGuide recommend this restaurant! The outdoor tent is gorgeous for a weekend morning, but that?s it. The employees are lack of training, so there?s no service. The food is even worst! The brunch menu is confused to everyone. The choices from Banana Walnut Donut to Fried Chicken Steak are not variety but confusing. If you want to do food business, at least serve some food fresh~ $3.95 for a concentrated orange juice!? $9.50 for a Mojito mix? No wonder there are more people at the cafe across street. Please get some help with this restaurant!!! Pros: ambience Cons: food, beverage, service more
