Servings are small, especially the appetizers. There is barely enough for two. Don't order the calamari if you expect a nice portion of little squid. Main dishes are interesting, but poultry was either salty or bland. Bundle up for this patio only restaurant. The heaters were not on this rainy evening. Big Mistake. Pros: Ample street parking, Quiet neighboorhood Cons: Small portions more

Delicious! 12/5/2002

This place was tucked away in the heart of South Pasadena and was very good. I went with a deliciously prepared salad and chicken entree. All was very tasty however it came at a price. Pros: Good Cons: a bit pricey more

A Bright Light Flickers in the Dark 11/4/2002

Up until now, there have been very few places to go in South Pasadena. I have had it with the parking and crowds in Old Town. Firefly Bistro is quite a find. This restaurant is absolutely charming. The ambience is friendly and fun and the food is excellent. I had the Piella and it was very good. The liquid center chocolate cake is to die for. The staff were attentive and very nice. I will definitely go back again. Best of all, it didn't cost too much. Open on Sundays with ample street parking. Pros: Good Parking, Quiet, Inexpensive more

The best part of Firefly is that you are able to dine outside under the canopy, and that the prices are reasonable. It is a nice spot for easy dining in South Pasadena. Pros: reasonably priced, outdoor dining, great service more

Great neighborhood restaurant! 9/22/2002

Very nice atmosphere and staff. The food is innovative, nicely presented (stacking seems to be favored) and really delicious. After three visits, I have some favorites... appetizers-- fig & duck confit as well as the heirloom tomatoes, entrees-- pork chop, catfish (skip the ahi), and anything on the dessert menu. Prices are more than fair. I look forward to several return visits. Pros: great atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food more
