Best Ballpark on Earth 7/25/2002

Where else can you catch a game with 33,000 of your closest friends? Fenway has the intimacy and the history that no other ballparks can hold a candle to. You can feel the energy when you get to Kenmore Square. Be sure to get a sausage & peppers from the Sausage Guy on Landsdown St. or stop by one of the numerous taverns that surround the neighborhood. I've been to Wrigley Field,Yankee & Shea Stadiums,Comiskey & Olympic Parks,Kaufman & Busch Stadiums, etc. and Fenway is still the one and only!! Pros: small park, nostalgic, great neighborhood Cons: seating, sold outs, obstructed views more

awsome 7/23/2002

The Fenway Park experience for a baseball fan is awesome. I love the atmosphere, especially real grass playing field, the way baseball should be played. Pros: uniqueness, history, the fans Cons: seat too hard, food too expensive more

fenway is fenway 7/14/2002

fenway is fenway....and you have to appreciate it for what it is. You have to love everything about it...even if you are basically sitting on top of eachother... enjoy it because it is fenway. If you are not up for it ...sit at home and watch the game on TV... and let someone who wants to be there enjoy the game and atmosphere. Pros: everything, everything more

A lyric little band box maybe 7/10/2002

but a "relic" for sure! Fenway is eccentric, but I don't see its charm. The "fabled Green Monster" was built to prevent baseballs from breaking windows across the street, and has been one of the reasons the Red Sox have not won a World Series since 1918 (too many slow-footed power hitters, not enough speed, defense, or pitching). Tear it down and DO NOT build anything remotely like it again! A Sox fan since 1946. more

The Green Monster 6/28/2002

It was great living in the Back Bay for 5 years and being able to see the Red Sox play. For every Boston college student, baseball games at Fenway Park is a must. (also going to Cask and Flagon's afterwards) Pros: good walking distance, cheap bleacher seats, the history Cons: watching them lose, hard to get tickets more

Fenway is awesome!! 6/6/2002

I'm from Philly, but I have friends in Boston and visit Fenway as much as possible. Boston fans are lucky to have such a great ballpark. everyone knows the basics, green monster, the cozy feel of the park, fan's proximity to the field etc..make sure to hit the Cask and Flagon before and/or after the game. Pros: the Green Monster more

A must-see experience 5/15/2002

This needs to be on the must-see list for any serious baseball fan. The neighborhood doesn't compare to that around Wrigley Field, but this is definitely #2 in the country with not a whole lot of competition. Yes, it's a little cramped, the seats aren't great, the concessions aren't all that varied, etc. But, please, treasure Fenway as long as it lasts. Pros: History Cons: Ancient more
