Best

I have been eating here off and on for years. This place has the best food ever!! They make their own bread crumbs fresh! The jagerschnitzel is the best I've had since I was in...

Worst

I took my family here because I had bought a Groupon and love German food, had heard good things about the place, so thought I would try it. Called ahead to make sure we could use...

Just Like The Old Country 1/10/2005

Being from Eastern Europe myself, this place is just like back home. The Bistro is elegant, but still very welcoming. The staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the dishes and the large wine and beer offerings. They have traditional Checz, Romanian, Hungarian Russian and German selections and the most decedent deserts in Austin (I recommend the Austrian Dumpling!!! WOW!!!). My husband made reservations at one of their special tables to celebrate our anniversary; the staff prepared the table with Silk Ribbon printed with our name and a dozen roses. First class all the way! Pros: Dessert, Wine, Romantic more

Wow 1/9/2005

This place is wonderful, defiantly worth the trip. I am always looking for someplace new in the city and this place is perfect. Great atmosphere (Perfect for dates!), and the food are unbeatable as is the wine and beer lists. I had the stuffed turkey breast with parsley potatoes, and cucumber salad and my guest had Rabbit with hunter sauce, potato dumpling and red cabbage. We both could not get enough and I will certainly be returning. Make sure you save room for desert. Pros: Food, atmosphere more

break your routine, drive to P-ville 12/9/2003

This place is wonderful!!! Where else can you get rabbit or schnitzel? (both are delicious, so is the chicken paprikash). The beer selection is impressive. The last time I went was for my birthday, and the waiter talked us into more desserts than we needed--but I'm so glad he did--they were all fresh and good!! The atmosphere is home-y, but nice. A great place to take parents or other family members. Downtown P-ville location is charming. more

Wow! 5/30/2003

I went there after reading the article in the Chronicle, not knowing what entirely to expect.. It took some finding due to the fact it is off the beaten path.. but it was WELL WORTH the effort! The atmosphere alone was worth the trip! I simply cannot believe that two people alone created such a wonderful little hideaway! My greatest fear now is that I will never be able to be seated because the food is just THAT good! Try the Chicken Paprikas! Heavenly! Desserts? Oh man.. I can say goodbye to diets forever! Pros: Excellent food!, great atmosphere!, Prompt service! Cons: none I can think of! more

Great Hungarian, Austrian and German Foo 5/10/2003

I'm originally from Germany, by moving to the US I found it is extremly hard to find really good Austrian or German food. Don't get me wrong found a couple of them in the area, but this is the first with a nice not beer garden ambience. Cool this is not only Hungarian, it also has some German and Austrian favorites. Well there is one favorite that is like my grandmother made it, the liver is great if you like it. Anyhow you cannot go wrong in this place everything is great, the schnitzel, the rabbit, the duck and my wife's favorite the stuffed turkey breast... no the paprika chicken.... everythings good like I said. Franz Pros: Very Resonable, Great Ambience, Great Service more

  • At European bistro we offer you, not only food, but history, culture and tradition that built the tall columns of the European panache. We offer you everything- from spicy Hungarian food to creamy Russian soups, from Austrian pastries to German austerity and dishes from several countries. You order a platter and a wine of your choice and we would throw in some traditional live music to make it a perfect lunch or dinner for you.
