Read all the reviews on this character, and find another to represent you.\r Won't return your phone calls, indifferent to his clients, lies!\r Despite my numerous monthly calls, Eugene Kinsey neglected to pick up a judgment for eight months, allowing my debtor to relocate, change jobs, empty accounts, etc.\r During those months, on the few occasions he did return my calls, he assured me that he was going to ""check on it.""\r But he never ever did until I became so desperate that I barraged his answering service with a dozen calls or so & sent a flurry of emails.\r Then he made the effort & voila! The judgement was secured. \r He immediately whined that the long damaging delay wasn't his fault, it was some clerk of the court's fault.\r His pathetic attempt to shift blame for his dereliction of service to clerical error ~ citing the backups & budget cutbacks ~ is especially disgusting, given Eugene Kinsey's many many many years as an attorney.\r He presents himself as a very experienced lawyer, but seemingly neglected to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the court clerk to return the judgment.\r Mr. Kinsey finally admitted he'd made a mistake, offered return my fee and then reneged.\r After his admission of neglect, and offer to refund the $1000.00 fee, he also offered to help me collect the judgment.\r Then he told me how busy he was & that he would start in a few weeks. I then decided not to chase Mr. Kinsey around anymore, and just sell the judgment.\r When I informed Mr. Kinsey of my decision, he walked his offer of refund back, telling me he would have to ""check the files to see how much time he put in on the case.""\r I challenge Mr. Kinsey to even locate my files!\r This attorney is about to retire, even though the picture on his website is that of him as a young man. He doesn't keep office hours, told me ""he doesn't need the money"" and in general is a slacker.\r Eugene Kinsey is very good at collecting fees but demonstrated scant interest in acting in his clients' legal & fiduciary interest.\r During our initial interview, as I was leaving, and thanking him, he asked me to write him a good review.\r I assured him I would write an honest one when everything is resolved.\r It is not yet.\r I am the one of the people Mr. Kinsey has threatened to sue for half million dollars!\r One more reason not to hire him: He is a bully without even a basic understanding of the Constitution. more

Does not recommend this lawyer.Please find another one. Earlier I did not believe these reviews,but when it happened to me OMG.He took my retainer for $ 3000 and then eloped .I contacted other guys who were also cheated by Gene and now Gene is trying to sue one of his ex client because Gene thinks that his business is going down.\r In fact Mr Gene should retire now or I fear he will face law suit for malpractice in the coming future. more

Most Horrible.Be aware of this lawyer.\r Eugene KInsey is the worst lawyer I have ever come across as far as the Family law is concerned.HE JUST DITCHED ME and till date the hearing has not occurred.Thanks Mr Gene.\r We had a hearing on April 11 2012 to compel the attendance of the respondent( I am the petitioner) and instead Mr Kinsey told the Judge that he and the other attorney thinks that the case should be sent to mediation.After that NO MEDIATION OCCURRED as Mr Kinsey told me that the other attorney DITCHED him. And what bothers me that Mr Kinsey never told me that he will go for mediation and when I went to his office he told LIE to me that he informed me about everything .He took second retainer for $5,000 for the TRIAL and at the same time he was talking to the other attorney for mediation ,and when I asked to refund my $5,000,he refused to refund instead refunded me only $ 2,000 and offered 15 hrs of his FREE TIME .I told him that I dont need your FREE TIME ,instead I need my full refund,but he never refunded back my hard earned money.He also charged me $525.00 to ""review the objection to the Deposition"" which was due to Mr Kinsey's own error.My wife lives in North California miles away from his office and still he gave notice to take her deposition in his office ,which was Objected by the other attorney and he charged me to review that so ridiculous .\r \r \r So guys I would advise be aware of this attorney.Look around when you shop for attorney ,in the beginning Mr Kinsey can call you 100 times to get your first retainer once you have given it you are gone,but this may not be true for other attorneys in the city.When you go to his office try to call at his office number the phone will never ring! And if by mistake it does rings there is no one to answer the phone .He never updates you in your case and later he will tell you lie that he informed you ,so useful tip is to keep track of all the emails sent and received from this lawyer.\r \r So dont be lured by his low prices ,you will feel very sorry at the end ,the way I am feeling today.\r \r \r \r more

LOVE THIS GUY - I have known and done business with Mr. Kinsey for over ten years. He has always given me great service and he always does it with a smile. He'll let you know up front that he is a sole practitioner so when he is in trial there will be delays in returning calls. But my experience has always been that he does his best to call back promptly. I couldn't recommend him more highly. more

The best lawyers are also counselors. Gene is both. He has been a lawyer for over 35 years but he has done a lof of other things in his life. He's been a supporter of the arts as a concert producer, host of ""The Legal Pad"" on Long Beach cable, a writer (just look at his website), a real estate broker, and a volunteer in the schools as a judge in high school moot court events. more

Simply the best. Gene not only represents you in court, he s a great counselor. His mantra is fight, flee, or compromise . He tries compromise first but he ll tell you when it is best not to do anything at and when it is time to fight. more

Mr. Kinsey is a GREAT attorney. He has been practicing a long time - about 35 years I think - and the experience shows. He is a solo attorney with just one secretary. Your fees will be low but the trade off is that, when he's in trial, you probably won't get a call back until the trial is over. When that happens, his secretary makes a phone appointment for a specific time to talk. more

Eugene Kinsey does not even deserve one star. He only call you back right away when he is trying to get your business. As soon as he does, you will NEVER hear from him again! This is his M.O. if you Google his name and reviews he does this to everyone..see for yourself. He will not keep you informed, will not return your phone calls and will give you bad advice.
