I almost didn't buy from this company after reading some of these. After talking with them, and working out a deal, I opted to give them a shot. My engine arrived within a week ...

Ok, This company was a little on the rude side, and a little unprofessional, but that being said I ordered a transmission for my daughters Eclipse, it was a hard one to find!! The...

Lying cheating thieves 6/7/2011

We ordered a used engine for a service truck in our fleet. Engine took 20 days to get to us, and when we had it installed, the mechanic called and told us it was locked up. Over the next couple of months, we tried to get either a refund, or return, or credit....anything to resolve the matter. When you call, no matter what number you choose from the menu, you get Bill. Customer service is sorely lacking and the whole outfit is as unprofessional as any we have ever encountered. Bill is threatening over the phone, until you tell him lawyers are involved. He seemed to get a little more agreeable after that. Do yourselves a huge favor and avoid these cheats. more

THEIVES 6/6/2011

June 7, 2011\r \r Please do not order from this psuedo company. They shipped the wrong transmission and then claim they have resent the correct one but can provide no tracking number. Dale in customer service is a a real piece of workmanship with no character whatsoever. I hope the Secretary of the State of Wisconsin will deal with these bimbos. more

Very dangerous people 5/24/2011

I've just experienced dealing with the worst scum I've ever dealt with. They are underhanded thieves. I ordered an expensive auto engine, and tried to cancel the order a few minutes later. They will not cancel my order. There are probably a few happy folks who dealt with these bastards. But judging from the BBB dot com website, most shoppers are taken for a ride. Don't be a fool. Stay away from these nasty sharks. more

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! 5/4/2011

IM COPYING AND PASTING THE REPORT SENT TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!\r \r On March 2011-\r I ordered an engine 4.2L with 38,558 miles. I was told I would receive the engine in 7-10 business days. I was also told I would receive the carfax as soon as the purchase was made, but that didn’t happen. Finally received the engine on March 25. When the engine was received, I still had not received the carfax. I had a licensed mechanic check the engine. He stated he could guaranteed the engine did not have the miles reported & engine was in horrible condition. There was no (VIN) on the engine. That same day I contacted EATW and spoke with Billy. I attempted to voice my concern about the engine received and the carfax not received yet. Billy refused to speak with me regarding any matters, he started yelling at me over the phone. He then hung up on me. I attempted calling again and was unable to get any words out because Billy kept screaming. I then informed him that if I could not resolve anything with him and the company I would have to open a dispute with my credit card company, at that point Billy said that if I put in a dispute his company would charge me with theft for keeping the engine and having my credit card company take the money from EATW, then he disconnected the call.\r \r I attempted to call again on and spoke with Billy He refused to give me any information on the engine. He stated that I had stolen from his company; he guaranteed the carfax would never be provided, and I would never get any questions answered about the engine. I then called Citi Bank to ask if they had taken the funds from EATW I was told the funds had not been taken from EATW because the investigation was not conducted yet. So Billy at EATW was using false allegations to not provide me information on the engine purchased. \r \r I received an email from EATW on advising me to contact Andy, the supposed supervisor to get the engine carfax. I was promised I would get it Tuesday 03/29/11. I kept emailing Mr. Andy and emphasizing that I could not install an engine that I had not ran the carfax on. I did not receive a carfax until Friday April 1, st. the carfax received did not match the engine bought. The engine I bought was stated to me that it had 38,558 miles; the carfax I received stated the engine had 25,094 miles. This confirms the fraud and false advertisement. After sending EATW an email regarding the carfax received I got a phone call from the supposed supervisor Andy cursing me out and yelling at me. Saying that if I dare to dispute the charges with any company, they would charge me with theft. He also stated that if I dare dispute any charges or attempt to return the engine, he would make sure I was charged a 25%resotcking fee, along with $500 shipping fees and theft. He insulted me and tried to belittle me. At that he was screaming so loud that I disconnected the call and sent him an email, requesting that any further communication be done thru writing since I could no longer put up with their insults and disrespects. \r \r Something that I find very disturbing is that I purchased the engine advertised on their website March 1st, 2011. The engine for a 2002 F150 with 38,558 miles, and to this day, they are still advertising the SAME ENGINE THAT I SUPPOSEDLY BOUGHT! I believe they are a crook company and doing fraud to lots of customers.\r \r In addition, I saw the report from the Better Business Bureau and they have a grade F for various reasons. Apparently I am not the only customer this has happened to. \r more

Worst Customer Service Ever!!!! 3/29/2011

0 stars if I could give it. Horrible service. Ordered motor on March 2. They took their money on the 3rd. I had to contact them after 13 business days. It took me 1 hour to get through to a person. They said they have been extremely busy and that is why they could not get out engine. It finally shipped on on the 23 of March and arrived at shop on 28th. I waited all this time paying rental car as well to find that motor was not the one I ordered. Now they are not wanting to give me back my money. I filed fraud at bank and with BBB. These people are scam artist. The manager was actually trying to cut me off on the phone when explaining to him what happened. I would never ever do business with these people and wish I had found these reviews before hastily ordering the engine. more

Engine and Trans World 1/25/2011

I own a repair shop in N.C. I have recommended Engine and Trans World to a few of my customers. The first engine I got was in decent shape, so I thought this company was legit. The second engine I got the engine was extremly rusted behind the timing cover, glad I took the cover off and looked, of couse they stated in there (No Risk for Them) waranty that these items are not covered.\r Being a trusting fool I gave these scams another try. I recived 2003 GM 3.8L with 50,000. The engine looked like it had 100,000+ mile on it . After replacing select seals I installed it. The car returned with oil leak. The rear seal housing gasket was leaking. When I disassembled the engine to replace the gasket the gasket was as hard as a rock..50,000 miles my butt. When I called Engine and trans world to ask for help with labor cost I was denied. Stay away from this company!! NO Stars\r more

Not Trustworthy 1/18/2011

So I was looking online for an engine for a 2000 Honda Accord when I found Engine & Transmission World website. My research suggests Engine & Transmission are not trustworthy, and here is why. Regardless of the engine model you search on their website, they always have the engine AND, most importantly, the engine ALWAYS has between 35,000 and 39,000 miles. Out of curiosity, I did a search for BMW, Mercedez, Toyota and Chevrolet engine for cars from model year 1999 - 2004, as expected, they always had ONE engine available for between 35,000 and 39,000 miles. Now think about it, how possible is it that so many people crashed their cars between 35,000 and 39,000 miles? And then these engines always ended up at ""Engine & Transmission?"" more

as advertised 12/11/2010

My transaction with these guys went smooth... My 16 year old kid blew out the engine in my A4. Called up engine world and they had a good looking, clean part at my mechanic's w/in 2 weeks... the engine fired right up! It's been a couple of months, and I think it's running even better than when when we first installed it! PS: my kid doesn't get to drive it anymore, and he's payed off a little less than 1/4 of the cost back to me... we'll see how much of it I actually get back... lol more

Bad,Bad,Bad 12/3/2010

I'm in the same boat as most! I ordered a motor that was to have 36,000 miles on it. When delivered it had no drain plug in it what a mess and what came out of the oil pad was black syrup. It also had oil soaked carbon deposits in the exhaust ports so you know it's an oil burner. Had to fight to receive a carfax and it didn't match what I received but the S/N matched the motor add. Hard to deal with and you don't know what to believe. I called to complain and told them I wanted a Total refund and wanted them to pick up their motor. They don't respond to any e-mails , phone calls I'm still waiting for the motor to be picked up. Filling papers with the BBB and the Maryland Atorney Generals office. There still more but not enough time to tell it all. I will post how I make out. DON'T DEAL WITH THEM!!!!!!!! more

A complete fraud! 11/22/2010

Company guaranteed for $1995 I was getting a Saab engine with 36,000 miles. Said they would give a carfax report but never would. sold me an extended warranty only to find out ""extended"" means overides regular warranty/not extended at all. The engine blew a piston after 6000 miles and they wont do anything regardless of fact mechanic is showing the piston was ""pitted"" from water damage!!!! more

A very honest post!!! 10/19/2010

Ok, This company was a little on the rude side, and a little unprofessional, but that being said I ordered a transmission for my daughters Eclipse, it was a hard one to find!! They said they had it, price was good, free shipping. It took three weeks, made me nervous!! But....got it, runs like a champ, came very clean, all sensors good!! They said it had a certain amount of miles on it, can't confirm that, but it runs!! My point, dont worry to much to soon about this company, I think they try to please, but the high volume of customers overwhelms them at times. Not sure if I would use them again, but very happy at this point with the tranny. more

Engine and Transmission World 10/19/2010

I got what I ordered after waiting almost 3 weeks, but once they had my money they were very rude and unprofessional. I won't be using them again. more

They found me an 09 Engine 10/19/2010

I needed a motor for my 09 Corvette after an accident and I did a google search for a used engine and these guys came up. I used the website and got a quote and freaked when they they showed they had my exact engine with like 12k miles on it. I called cuz I was skeptical but they basically confirmed they had it. I ordered and it came a few weeks later and got it installed and it ran like a charm but they forgot the carfax that they promised on their site, so I called in and requested it and by the end of the day I had it emailed to me. Totally happy with these guys. Great buy. Read some of the negatives and they seem to be coming out of left field, but oh well...I got my part and I'm totally happy with it. more

Got what I ordered. Good company 10/19/2010

I want to take this moment to thank all the folks that shipped out the transmission for my son's truck. The trans arrived as scheduled and was in new condition, clean, ect and was then installed by myself and my son (quality bondi time) and works as advertised. Thanks so much and I will keep ETW at the top of my list from now on. Growing up in N. Illinois it sure is great to receive that courtesy. Again thanks to all more

These guys are russian scammers 10/19/2010

Avoid the thieves at Engine & Transmission World, once they get your money you'll either get a junk engine or nothing. They are hoping to stall you long enough that they can do a partial refund and grab the restocking fee for doing nothing but irritating you. If you do get an engine it most likely be junk. Don't pay your mechanic to install a junk engine, it just ends up costing you more money! Then they want you to ask for a refund so they can end up with the restocking fee. I think that this might be a group of Russians, they act and sound exactly like some Russian software crooks that I dealt with recently. If not then they took lessons from the same thief guide. Update: It appears that they have family or employees trying to get their ratings out of the gutter and posting glowing testimonials about them. If these testimonials were true then their ratings would not have so many one and two star reviews. If you have paid them via a credit card, go to your credit card provider and file a fraud complaint to get your payment refunded. That way they cannot try to cheat you out of a bogus ""restocking"" fee. Imagine having the nerve to charge a fee for restocking an engine that they never had! more

buyer beware 10/6/2010

They purchased a use engine from us over 60 days ago. They decided to send it back to us which we don't have a problem with. The problem is that is isn't my motor. There were no markings that it came from us, however it was marked with LKQ markings. When notified we were called a liar. I would rethink before doing business with them. more

Instant 25% Cancellation Fee! Regardless of why... 9/17/2010

Read the terms and conditions! Don't give them your credit card number or anything else UNTIL YOU DO! \r \r This company has a stated position that it will apply a 25% order cancellation fee if you attempt to cancel for any reason. Period.\r \r Also, be extremely CLEAR about when you will be supplied the VIN number of the vehicle that the transmission or engine was taken out of. Ask if the part is in their physical possession. Ask if it has already been tested. \r \r I cancelled a one week old order after becoming concerned about just what I was getting, and when, and they invoked the cancellation fee, which is cleverly buried in the language regarding warranty refunds.\r \r Contact the Milwaukee WI BBB, or check out various rating websites. I think you're gonna' want to take your business elsewhere. more
