Empire Movers

I had a very complicated move from Chicago to Manhattan that involved local Chicago movers, Pods shipping, and Empire Movers on the NYC end. Florin and the team from Empire were great. They confirmed details with the Chicago packing company and Pods and made sure that my things made it to my new house on time, in excellent condition, and with no problems whatsoever. I cannot recommend them more highly--don't bother looking anywhere else in New York. Cheers, Emilache more

The crew was scheduled for 9 am pickup, they called ahead to let me know they were coming. At 8:50 am they were at the door. I had some things that were still unpacked since my boxes had run out, no worries they packed it for me. Vlad was very informative and went over the Estimated Minimum cost before we started, I knew that it was going to be more since the estimate was only for 3 hours + 1 hr travel time and I knew we needed more time...yes I am a packrat LOL Vlad estimated work time of 5-6 hours...I figured 6 was closer to the real figure and that was the time it took :-) He also let me know that a tip to the crew would be great but was Not mandatory. They took great care of my stuff, wrapped it properly...and Quickly! From start to finish they were extremely efficient, no break times just go go go...made me exhausted just looking at them! I am also very grateful for the care they took with my TV, I have a 65" plasma TV, very big and heavy! They wrapped it with blanket and cardboard and it arrived at the new house without any problems! When we got to the new house they helped me put the furniture where I wanted it, they put things together that they had needed to take apart to fit in the elevator...the job was done in no time! When I move again I will call these guys again! more

I usually don't review businesses but these great guys convinced me to share this with everyone. They earned top marks from me for their high quality service. On time, polite, careful with my stuff, very helpful and friendly. And all that for the lowest price around (believe me, I did my homework :) If you need a team of professionals to help you with your move around NY, I recommend Empire Movers! Great work guys! Had moved with another company company back in 1999. One of my friends recommended empire movers and booked them. All in all a very good experience with the sales staff and the movers were absolutely great. Highly recommend more

The movers were fine. My problem was with Sam the salesperson who provided the price quote. Job was twice the cost as quoted. I was charged for items/services which they said there was no charge for. I was supposed to have three movers but only got two. Which obviously made the job longer and more costly. When I spoke to Sam to discuss problems, he was unhelpful, argrumentative and unapologetic . They held some items on the truck as hostage until the bill was settled. I will never use this company again. I will go out of my way to tell people to not use them. That's how frustrated I was with the salesperson. Follow-up comment: I was contacted by the company after they had read my review. I received a partial refund (though it did not cover the discrepany from quoted price to actual price) for my troubles and frustration. more

Good service and very fast crew. i have moved with them before and used than again on Sunday. I can close my eyes and be assured they will deliver. more

Empire Movers Is one of the WORST moving services I've ever experienced. sad to say with all the people I know and work with. my overall experience and my word of mouth will mean alot to this company. First of all Do Not use them. not only do they show up in a No Logo Dirty Butcher Meat Truck. Half way full with there junk already inside, that way they can request to make two trips. so they can charge you for more hours. They use broken boxes. there not reliable with time. they show up extremely Late and they will give you the run around and lie about traffic. then they try to scam with the hours. they will work and drive slow to charge you more hours. Its a scam moving company. Managers John and Florin and Movers Staff are all Super UNPROFESSIONAL. Whatever you do DONT USE THEM!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL! There probably the one's who write there own reviews. DO NOT USE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! USE SHLEPPERS, FLAT RATE or MOISHES!!! There PROFESSIONAL!! more

Just a quick note to tell you that my daughter, Mary is all moved in and she is jumping for joy. She had nothing but nice things to say about your men and the wonderful job they did for her. Please put the amount of the bill on my credit card and not hers, and thank you so much for 1) taking this job so last minute 2) in a snowstorm, and 3) doing it so quickly, professionally and respectfully....please pass our thanks on to your guys. Due to my work i have to relocate constantly, this time some friends recommended this company. i called and spoke to one of their reps and was explained all the costs in detail rather than just trying to hush me into booking with them. i found that to be very helpful and impressed. On the day of the move which is January 3rd, they arrived on time in the morning and the foreman with his crew of 3 people just did an exceptional job, i was amazed at the speed and professionalism. They did not even take a break for coffee. I will highly recommend this company to anyone. Out of all the movers i have used in the past this has been the best experience so far more

My husband and I moved yesterday to a 5th floor walkup on the UES (yes, 4 flights of stairs!). We had 4 guys move us in 5 hours with 50 boxes and tons of furniture. The movers were extremely professional, courteous, punctual and gentle! They showed up earlier than anticipated and were ready to hustle. Went above and beyond and were so friendly and polite. There were no hidden costs and this company is very reasonably priced --- but keep in mind we were COMPLETELY packed - to the last pen (so we did not need any of their supplies at all). I highly recommend this company, the cost benefit of saving $100 on another company or renting a U-Haul is not even worth it, I promise. We tipped $55 per person and got the movers waters/sodas/snacks. Here was my favorite part: When there were less than 10 boxes left, instead of stretching out the time (b/c we did pay them hourly - so I personally would've taken my sweet time!) the hustled up those stairs almost running and finished by 2.30pm!!! I couldn?t believe my eyes. Already recommending them to my friends! It was the best moving experience of my life and I've moved every 2 years for the past 10 years. more

Had empire movers come by on Tuesday to do my move, everything ran very smooth and efficiently The head mover directed his crew and did the move in a very efficient and professional manner. Will use them again i f moving in the near future. more

These guys are amazing the move was done in a very nice and professional way, right from the time i called them on the phone and spoke to their sales agent to the time they arrived at my apartment till the finish. will use them again if have to move(ugh) and refer them to anyone i know more

I created an account just so I could drop a review 4 Empire Movers. I recently moved from Upper East to Port Washington and could not be happier with how the move went. The movers arrived early and were very professional and hard working. They wrapped everything very well and were very careful. They were also really fast-the move took less time than we thought it would and my bill was less than expected. I recommend them to anyone that is moving and will use them again in a heartbeat! more

I used them to move recently and the move went great up until the end. I gave a tip of $20/person (the bill was the minimum charge) and the guy wanted more money. He let me know that 20% was what he expected. This was totally unreasonable given the amount of work that they had to do. They also stand over your shoulder and watch what you write during your review of the company. I will never use them again. There are too many movers in the area to deal with this level of unprofessionalism. I should have known because he brought up money during our conversation three different times (asking about rent, etc.). I saw the 20% line mentioned in other reviews of the company and should have listened. more

After looking at all the great reviews here i decided to call them and got a price quote from a sales agent Sam, after having all my questions answered i decided to give them a shot. Im so glad i called them as Polo the foreman and his crew did a very nice job they packed everything carefully and it was really a breeze . Very happy with the service more
