Edison Emergi-Med

Have been going to this practivc for over 10 years. They have progressivelly gotten worse each year. Staff acts as though they don't have time for you and are extremely unprofessional on the phone. The 24 hour answering service is complete joke so don't even bother leaving a message with them. The doctors wait over a week to return calls and call right before they are ready to close so you have no time to reach them. They always claim that they don't receive faxes from your pharmacy. Don't even waste your time with this place they always have an excuse for everything rather then communicating the problems to each other and making it more managable. Oh yeah and you might as well show up an hour or so late for your appointment cause they will never take you on time. more

I took 8:00am appointment a few weeks in advance. On the previous day of the appointment they called and asked me to re-schedule and gave me 9:00am appointment as the doctor timings is 9am. I reached there are 9am and had to wait more than an hour to see the doctor. They lack professionalism in scheduling and keeping appointments. The reception lady asked me to give insurance card, and fill up paperwork, which I did. Later, she asked me to pay the co-pay even though it is written clearly on the insurance card that my annual exam had zero co-pay. You can imagine the quality of service.. more

I have been a patient here for 3 years and have to say that the "experience" at this office has been consistently unsatisfactory and has gotten worse. As others have mentioned, the doctors are good. As a patient you have to go in with the questions and concerns that you want to discuss and it's your resonsibility to make sure the doctors hear you out, so that you don't leave feeling unsatisfied or rushed. The support staff however, is the problem to me. For the most part they are cordial, some are friendly, some are rude, most are unprofessional and lazy. They act as if they are too busy to be bothered with the patients needs. The conversations amongst them ranges from personal to inappropriate and vulgar. They even have conversations with patients in this manner. Absolutely no professional should use profanity when speaking with a patient. The wait times, with an appointment, are unacceptable and excessive and is not due to the doctors being thorough and taking their time with patients. I have seen other doctors over my many years and can say that long wait times and a crowded office are NOT a sign of a great doctor (as mentioned by another poster). I believe it's common for this office to over-book and once in a room you are waiting 15-20 mins between the various support staff drifting in and out to do their tests before the doctor comes in. The last time I went I sat in a room for 30 minutes waiting for someone to do blood work, only to find out this person wanted to get a lunch in knowing that I was waiting. The tech then comes in angry (still chewing) because I was ready to leave. The doctors all see this and don't correct the problem. You make an appt., they ask why, but when you get there no one knows why you're there! You now need to make another appt to complete the exam. Office is in need of a deep cleaning and renovations. Everything looks worn and dated. You're sitting in a room with garbage bins that smell horrible because food waste is tossed into them. I am ending my ties with this office. more

I was reffered by my friend. I saw Dr. Desai. He is very compassionate and professional. Staff was also very helpful. I will strongly recommend. more

I have been going for several years to this facility and am very happy with the staff and doctors. Recently, I have been seeing Dr. Valeria and I think she is excellent. Her exams are thorough and professional and she listens to you. Although very professional, she talks to you like a person -- not condescending because she is a doctor. She explains everyhing in terms you can understand. I would highly recommend this facility. more

Good: I have been seeing Dr. Dave for several years for regular physical checkups and for a variety of illnesses and injuries. I have always found her to be professional and caring. Other family members have seen other doctors on the staff and have similar feelings.. Bad: Sometimes the wait can be long despite an appointment, especially later in the day. For that reason, I always try to make appaointments early in the morning, I have read other comments on this site and have never experienced the negative situations described.. Improvements: The exam rooms could use some refurbishing, but they are adequate. I am going to see the doctor, not the room.. more

This doctor is very unprofessional, unorganized and unethical. I strongly donot recommend this doctor. more

I visit this office often. they need to upgrade all of the equipments. everthing seems to be out of date,the examination offices needs refurbishing they are cramped and not dirty but not very clean either the whole place needs a make over i think that they the Mcdonalds in their industry. more

I would never tell anyone about this place. I went for an MRI the beginning of August and they didn't tell me the results until months later after I gave up on calling and just went there. I recently went back and dealt with Dr. Desai. He wrote a note saying I could go back to work but was unwilling to fill out papers saying I could. I even had to bug him for the note. Dr. Kalika was the only doctor that I liked there and she left. Desai never does anything, he just refers you to see someone else. A big total waste of money going here. more

Some Notes: In general, the staff is friendly. It seems they are always too busy to answer phones. (This is understandable since the people taking calls are also the ones checking people out.) I only go there now to get prescriptions. I had a finger injury diagnosed by a doctor. He taped it with regular tape (the ones you use on paper) and said it was a sprain. A few weeks later, it was still swollen and painful. I saw a different doctor and said I should have gotten surgery. Now I have a finger deformity. If you don't think the doctor is right with an assessment, demand a second opinion. Good luck. more

Well We have been with Edison Emergi Med for over 6 years now, Both me and my husband has been seeing Dr. Mendu. On n Off As needed- We met Dr. Deora,Desai and Others as well. They are fine too and We are very satisfied with Dr. Mendu. He is the busiest Dr. around but never rubs it on the patient face. Always gives time and makes sure he takes care of things before the patient leaves! Yeah - I was put on hold Forever sometimes and I know 1 hr+ will be the wait when I go to see the Dr. We will live with that , Anyway its no less wait at any other place or the Hospital emergency room. We have referred 6 of our friends there and they sticked with them So will We!! more

Terrible staffs-Great Doctors!!! Sometimes It way to difficult to get an appointment with the Dr. You wish to see but Again,Sometimes It was so long wait that we rather stayed home , But since Its a Group They make sure Some Dr. sees you when you need to see just a Doctor.We can live with that much!! more

I have always been treated in a very professional and understanding manner by the staff at Emergi Med. They are polite and very co-operative in scheduling appointments-also with other outside specialists. Dr. Mendu also seems to be very knowledgeable in what he is doing, and acts in a professional manner with his patients without assuming anything. He is sensitive to the patient's needs, and helps in every possible way. more

I'm going to Edison Emergi-Med for more than 1 year. One of my friend referred this hospital & Dr. Mendu, who is very good and take care of patients very well. I don't know about other doctors in this Hospital. As all people saying, When you call this office, don't expect some one answer you right away. There will be a waiting period of at least 15min's. And also wait period to see Doctor is also high, but can wait to see good professional Doctor. more

I see Dr. Deora, she is a very caring and excellent doctor. For those that complain about waiting long the reason there is such a wait is because the Doctors are so good. I am always leary of an empty waiting room! The doctors spend time with all their patients and sometimes you just have to wait to get very good health care. The staff has been fine to work with sometimes they have to be quick because they are very busy but they have always been respectful. more

I recently moved to Edison, I needed to get a physical exam. My husband recomended Dr. Mendu. He is very friendly and makes sure everything is okay and that you get proper care. Dr. Dave is also good and works Saturdays. more

I have had many problems with this place. DO NOT GO HERE. The waits are terrible and appointment times mean nothing. I have had two big problems with these people and I will never go back. The first was when they took my insurance card copied it and had me wait one hour and a half before they told me that they didnt accept my insurance. My second problem is with the receptionist she is extremely rude. I was kept on hold for long time periods every single time that I called. I have been waiting six hours for them to call my prescription in and they still have not done it yet while I am sitting at home with 101 fever. I called them and asked them about it and I was given an attitude. DO NOT give your money to this place they treat you terribly!!!!! more

I called several times and everytime I was put on hold for extended periods of time and when I asked why they would do that to a patient they would slam the phone down. The receptionist answering the phone is very rude. I go there only for Dr. Mendu who is excellent and a very good person. Very busy place only because of him. Long waits even with an appointment. Appointments do NOT mean much. You will still wait at least one hour in the evenings and weekend mornings. more

We go to Edison Emergimed and the one thing we love about this place is that it has the best hours (especially for working individuals). There are four physicians on staff and they are all great, friendly and knowledgeable. The regular staff is very pleasant to deal with too. It's conveniently located on Oak Tree Road but in an area which is not too busy (right by the YMCA). more
