Eastside Tree Works did everything on schedule as promised and the project manager, Kurt Jaye, coordinated the job so I was kept informed and given ample notice when things were going to be done. All the workers were skilled and professional, minimizing the collateral damage that taking down two large trees involves. I really think it is unfair for some people to rate this company one star when the very process of removing a tree is a little bit like remodeling a house. You are tearing something down, not landscaping it. as they say: "You have to squeeze some lemons to make lemon aid". I know, that's a bit trite, but true. I think these guys can be trusted; but, do remember they are cutting trees down, not planting them. more

Had. Two removals back yard . First thing we wanted a company withL and I insurance. Out of six companies they where the only one who had it. Best part they showed it to me without asking. Tree work is dangerous and we wanted a company who cover there employees. They did everything they said they would. Call us 24 hours before coming out. Foreman talked to us. Clean up was great and a follow up call. Plus even got tree permit. more

Had four company come out to look at job. Only had one give me options on tree. We where going to remove it. Then we listen to his reasons why it could stay. We save a beautiful tree that could never be replaced. Also everything they said was done. Thank you PS We saved over $2500.00'cause OT options , that not one other tree company offered. more

The service I had done in my yard was done in a professional , experienced and courteous manner. They even went an extra mile to please . There was no mess at all and the staff made sure that all their work was cleaned up before they left. Any future work that I need done for my Cedar Trees , I would certainly have Eastside Tree Works . more

The guys were a little late w/o calling, but did a great job! Fast and furious! also very young but very polite and mannerly. Since we will always have problem trees as long as we live in Maple Valley, we wouldn't hesitate to call them again. Curt and Sheri Stout more

We just had our large stately cedar pruned and could not be happier with the service Eastside Tree Works provided. The crew (Cole, Justin and Evan) arrived promptly, were so respectful of the surrounding plants and landscape and exhibited a high degree of professionalism in their work. Our cedar tree looks incredible and the crew left our home cleaner than when they arrived. We highly recommend their services and will definitely use them again. more

Read reviews, talked to past customers. Had a very large job and needed someone who has been in the business more than a few years. Sure there are some reviews not great. But then again there are far more better ones. With the amount of work they do. They out perform my expectations , from the beginning to the end. They have my business more

Just a few weeks ago, we asked east side about pruning and caring for a large pine tree in our back yard. The gentleman came over, evaluated the tree,listened to our concerns and offered his thoughts and opinion as an arborist. All details were locked in, and in two days time, another crew arrived under the supervision of another arborist. The tree climber was professional in all aspects and the crew did their job in a professional manner. There were heavy and multiple branches close to our house and over the fence. The branches were tied off prior to cutting,so when it was free, the attached rigging kept the branches from free falling. The crews responded as fast as a branch was free, they had it detached from rigging,trimmed and shredded. The remainder of the project was removing branches in danger of falling in typical northwest winds,cleaning dead branches and trimming enough to keep branches free of our new home and allow wind to pass through tree branches and not create issues. I am not sure if ll the crew were arborist s, but the crew leader was and the others all cared about the job they were doing. The entire crew needed no commands, they reacted automatically as each task was performed. The entire crew was professional,fun to interact with but in the performance of their duties, I was left talking to myself when a task came up lol. Tree work is an art,skill all at the same time, nothing ever goes as hoped or predicted. Tree branches have a mind of their own. This crew came prepared,I certainly do not need to go any where else to get this kind of work done in the future. All the best equipment in the world to do this job means nothing if the crew that operates it know nothing. East side tree works knows what they are doing and they leave your yard as clean as it was when they began the project. Great. Service from the evaluation and estimate to the actual work and clean up. My wife is super picky, if these folks can pass her quiet but analyzing watch then you can be sure Alls well. Door bell rings,the guy asked if we were interested in trimming any of our trees,they'd be in the area & could offer a SUPER good deal.So I asked if he would come back in 30 minutes,when my husband got home. He did,right on time. Their price was really good,my husband said OK. They did our tree's 2 days later. We have big cedar tree's & they were in & done in about 2-3 hrs! Easter was in 2 days & we planned to spend All day Saturday cleaning up the yard-NOPE! They left it SO CLEAN! Seriously,they even raked All 3 LAWNS! We have had a lot of tree work done over the last 29 years and have Not been inclined to praise the jobs done, they were not bad,just not worthy of praise. Eastside Tree Works did a great job for me last summer (see my review 7/26/12) when they took out two Poplar trees. I therefore contracted them to take out another 90ft Poplar in my back yard this Spring. The crew they sent appeared to be in training, with one person giving a lot of instruction as the project proceeded. When they topped the tree it got away from them with four branches going through my roof that resulted in four separate holes in the roof. Part of the top also hit the deck which broke completely through two Trex floor boards. Later another trunk they were dropping got away from them that took out a sprinkler head and cement step. I now have a patched roof and a deck that will always look patched (Trex has changed their styles and we can't duplicate the smashed floor boards). I don't understand why they would send out an inexperienced crew to tackle an obviously very difficult and dangerous tree. They have lost my trust. I will not be doing any more business with them. more

We have hired 5 other tree company in the past due work We decided to remove two very large firs no more then five feet away from our home. They where very professional from start to finish. They had gave us a procedure list on scheduling , removal of wood etc.....They also inform us about L/I in state of Washington. They have L/I. Again all is we can say they where the very best company we had ever used. No damage to anything........ Thank you more

This is not a 'family business.' The 'arborist' has not certification on file with the certifying organization in our area. They were great before the work began and my husband wanted to go ahead. Big mistake. They did less than half the contracted work and we have not heard back from them since Jan 7, it is now Jan 28. Also, they dropped a tree on a rhododendron that is over 25 years old that was a hummingbird habitat we have been fostering for years. This rhododendron also provided privacy for our deck. Now half of it is gone, along with the hummingbirds, who were in mating season. We see fewer baby hummers than we expected to see this time of year. One of the tree cutters fell out of a tree, and the paramedics came. He ended up in Harborview with broken ribs and other injuries. A few days after this debacle, some wood gatherers came unannounced on three separate visits. We really did not like that as we have young adult daughters and did not like that our address was given out freely and we had these men coming into our private back yard with no notice. As it happened, we were home. We have had not one phone call or email to set up a completion date since, just a bill. We have branches that are posing a danger to our house. We are looking into how to get out of the remainder of the contract, since it appears EastsideTreeWorks has abandoned this contract. This is no family run business. Look carefully at the contract if you consider them. Here is a copy/paste of the exact contract terms. "Eligibility requires flexibility on scheduling your project, when we are able to combine your project with others in your geographical area. We will leave voicemail/email if unable to reach you in person, with your scheduled date and a rough time for arrival. Due to the nature of tree work, scheduling is subject to change, and exact arrival times are tentative. Homeowner being present is not required." They obviously have all their legal stuff covered. They can show up anytime. A month from now....a year from now..you know, 'flexibility on scheduling.' There is flexibility on scheduling, and there is being left high and dry with unsafe trees. This is ridiculous. We have heard not one word. We finally emailed them, and still have heard nothing. Matt has been incorporated less than three years. He is a kid trying to get rich. I would not hire them again. more

From the initial contact by the salesperson to the final conference with the crew boss, my experience was exemplary. The arborist reviewed the trees I thought may need some work. She explained which trees should be worked on and those that did not need any work at this time. The estimate was reasonable and detailed the work to be done. She checked with the office and found that a crew would be available the next day, mid-day. Since I was to be home that day, I agreed. The crew arrived on time, discussed the work to be done, even though it was detailed in the estimate, and proceeded to structure prune where necessary and cut down another bush as I requested. The clean up was thorough. The crew was friendly and responded to my questions and requests positively. I was impressed with the conferencing of the crew with the crew boss and one another to make sure the tree worked upon was perfect. I will call them again when the need arises. more

The quality of the work was not professional. The team was a group of very non professional crew. They played games throwing snowballs at each other, when one crew member was 25 feet up in a tree. They took down part of the fence to access the back yard and did not replace it when they left (also left the back gate open). They did not notify us when they were finished or ask our opion of the job. Limbs and leaves were left everywhere on top of a small building in our back yard also. more
