Herendous, Horrible, Ridiculous, Awful, Terrible, Scam, Scary, Unpleasant....these are just some of the words that describe my experience. They were extremely late, broke my stuff and I can't even do anything about it bc that is how fugazi they are. Ignore any positive feedback, it's all BS. I can't even belive these guys still run a business. Check with Upper Darby courthouse yourself. If you hire them, Good luck to you. more

Great! 5/4/2011

They were great! Very professional and took care of my belongings as if they belonged to them. I am so appreciative and I highly recommend them to all! more

HORRIBLE 4/26/2011

I used these guys several months ago and there are no words. I also want to point out the most of the positive feedback is written by the same persone. If you read each one carefully the all say "I and my...." which seems a bit fishy to me especially bc the grammar is used wrong. Just stay away from these guys, it's not worth you taking a chance. Go with Old City Movers or Mambo. more

DO HIRE THEM! YES GREAT SERVICE 4/6/2011

I Hired them to move me from North East Philadelphia Pa to Gettysburg Pa the move took place on Monday April 4th. They came and packed all my dishes pots and pans professionally from my 3 bedroom row home. They arrived at 9am just like it was planned had me packed and completely loaded in 4 and 1/2 hours then they delivered my home furnishings to Gettysburg. let me Reiterate - They were on time, The price was exactly what was quoted- absolute no damage just a professional service. I and my son a retired United States retired General would certainly use Eastern Connection Movers Again. AND YES I AFTER HAVING BEEN JUST MOVED DISAGREE WITH WHAT BELLA1978 HAS TO SAY AND in fact really think he or she is full of it. Any body can email me any time and I'll be happy to tell you of my great moving experience. Thank you Fred more

DO NOT HIRE THEM - NO INSURANCE 4/5/2011

I am warning everyone not to hire these people. If I could put no stars I would, bc they don't even deserve that. Ignore any positive posting you see. I actually just got off the phone with Philly Mag and they are taking them down from their website from Best of Philly. This was honestly the worst moving experience of my life. It literally took them 5hrs to pack up the truck that we missed our window into our new building. We had to move the following day and they screwed up all instructions, then their truck supposedly broke down and they arrived at my building at 7pm. By the graciousness of our Super he let them in not knowing they would be there until 2 am. Needless to say, they damaged the building and I can't get in touch with their "insurance company" to make a claim. When you call the supposed insurance number, George who moved us, answers the phone. They igonored all of our calls for the next few days and now we owe our building money bc of them. Their insurance is not real. Turns out they have multiple law suits against them from past customers but bc their address is not real they can't be served. I AM TELLING YOU, DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF, HIRE SOMEONE ELSE!!!! more

HIRE THIS COMPANY!! 2/18/2011

I and my spouse hired Eastern Connection Movers to move our home furnishings from Blue Bell PA to East Falls Philadelphia on 2/10/11. The team arrived on time at 9:30 in the morning within their time window. They laid rug runners down on the floors and so on just as they advertised on their web site's gold seal program. They moved everything and I had one concern an antique glass cabinet in the dinning room. These guys moved it with precise care. They loaded and then left to make the delivery to our new residence the driver came down our very narrow street. they unloaded. The time took jut a slight longer then expected but that was expected because of the lay out of our row home and the tight narrow stairs. They completed our move and not a scratch and the walls perfect. We have moved at least 12 times and this time was because we wanted to move closer to our jobs as we both work in Center City Philadelphia. These guys and Eastern Connection certainly get our 5 stars and Certainly Philly's best area movers. TWO THUMBS UP! Use them . more

DO NOT HIRE - Worst movers ever! 2/7/2011

Eastern Connection Movers are, by far, the worst moving company ever. I have moved many times in the Philadelphia area - apartment, house, city, suburbs - and this was, by far, the worst move I ever experienced. I hired Eastern Connection Movers on the strength of their "Best of Philly" credentials. Don't believe the hype. First off, they showed up 1.5 hours late. Reason - it was cold. Really? It's too cold to go to work? I'll have to try that one. This is Philadelphia and we have winter - working in the cold is par for the course!!! When they finally got to my apartment in Plymouth Meeting, everything seemed on the up and up...at first. They did a good job of getting my furniture (which, by the way, was limited to a set of bedroom furniture, a glass curio, a small desk and a chair; the bulk of my move was boxes that I had packed myself) out of the apartment, but loading it onto the truck took 5 hours. FIVE HOURS. You would think that with 5 hours spent loading a truck, everything would be wrapped and secured, no damage to anything, right? WRONG! When they finally arrived at my new house in Philadelphia, it was one disaster after the next. My TV was scratched and cracked, every piece of furniture had a nick or dent of some sort, and what hadn't been damaged on the truck the movers managed to damage bringing up the stairs. They banged my furniture into the walls, scratched my hardwood floors, and tracked mud and dirt everywhere. There was rock salt in one of the drawers to my nightstand. HOW DOES ROCK SALT GET INSIDE THE DRAWER?!? They tried to explain that there was salt on the ground (duh....) and that some must have gotten on the blankets that they used to wrap my furniture. Again, perhaps, since this is the Northeast and it does snow here from time to time, maybe your men would shake out the blankets before using them to wrap furniture. Just a thought. Then there was the matter of the light fixture on my ceiling that was broken, glass cleaned up and concealed. I didn't even discover this damage until the next day, when I happened to look up and see the large piece of missing glass. But, the icing on the cake was when one of the movers thought it was appropriate to call me "sweetheart". Adding insult to injury was when management at Eastern Connection tried to excuse his unprofessional behavior by saying he was from the South and that's how the refer to people. This whole debacle took 12 hours, cost me close to $1,000 and I'm now getting the run around with the insurance claim I submitted to cover the damages to my home and property. This moving company is dishonest, unreliable and unprofessional. Don't even think about using this company - they are the WORST. more

AWARD WINNING SERVICE CERTAINLY YES. 6/5/2010

Eastern Connection Movers moved me to New york City 6/3/10 . I can say my move was a tough one but those professional team of Eastern Connection Movers got my tall 8 foot high sofa up to my eight floor apartment as it wouldn't fit in the elevator but they just carried it up all the way. Thank you for for your extreme care in the handling of my 45" LCD TV. i CAN NOW START MY JOB WITH PEACE OF MIND because I hired Eastern Connection Movers whom gave me a great move and peace of mind. I would use them again for sure. Pros: All the Professionals Cons: none more

Find another movign company 4/2/2010

Do not hire this company! We have used several movers in the past 10 years and have NEVER experienced anythign like this. To start, they showed up 2 hours late for our move with the excuse being that "the lock on the truck door was frozen". Once they arrived George took his sweet time "tagging" all of our items while the 2 other guys just stood around. Once they finally got moving George, once again, did little but stand around. My husband did about 30% of the work of moving so they wouldnt take all day. A move that should have taken about 2-3 hours (based on our previous moves) took these guys 4 hours! We also made the mistake of havign them store our stuff for 3 weeks while we were between houses. They claimed it took 4 HOURS to unload the truck! Then when they delivered our stuff, THEY CHARGED US 40% more than when they took it away. All while George stayed in the truck and folded the blankets. Are you kidding me?! What a rip off!!!!!! In addtion, many things were broken/scratched and we still havent opened all of the boxes yet. Bottom line DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY more

Do not hire this company 12/4/2009

Eastern Connection Movers agreed to move our furniture and possessions from our house in Willow Grove, PA to a new house in Hatboro, PA. All arrangements were made over the phone. When the movers arrived on November 19, their truck was unable to fit up my driveway. Also, because the house is on a busy street (Route 63) the police would not allow them to park in front of the house. They had to park around the corner and trek through my neighbor's yard. After the phone arrangements had been made, George left us with the impression that his truck would be more than adequate to move all our furnishings and that the packing time would be approximately 5 - 7 hours. Around hour 9, the movers informed us that the truck would not be able to fit everything and they would "try" to have another truck for us in the morning. It had begun raining and the movers tracked mud into our house. At 10 PM on a Thursday night, we had to scramble to arrange for a steam cleaner for the carpet since the buyers had a walkthrough scheduled for noon the next day. We also had to contact many of our friends to see if anyone would be able to help us finish the move Friday morning should the movers not be able to obtain a truck. The chief mover and driver, Mike, told us that the owner usually got in at 7:30 and he would contact me with a solution. It took four phone calls from me starting at 7:40 before I heard anything. At 8:15 George called me to offer a cargo van. The van would not have fit the remaining furniture and we could not begin unloading in the new house until after settlement at 3 PM. Plus, they could not have gotten to my house from Upper Darby for at least a hour. I had to rent a U-Haul truck and arrange for a friend who was not working Friday morning to help me finish the move before the buyers walkthrough at noon. My wife and I feel that Eastern Connection Movers misled us. Their vehicle was not up to the task. They had to hire an additional mover once they started the job. They did not show me a contract until after they had loaded the truck. We felt coerced to sign the contract since they had the majority of our belongings on their truck. The time urgency ensured that we could not hire another mover. Eastern Connection Movers could have sent a representative to the house to determine whether it was a job they could handle. George's cavalier assurances over the phone indicate to me that he planned to take our money whether his one truck and three man crew could do the job or not. Yesterday we received a letter from Eastern Connection Movers demanding the $500.00 we withheld because of the amount of work we had to do ourselves. They cited their contract which we had signed under duress. We wrote a check for the $500.00 and have sent it in. We have submitted a complaint to the BBB and we are considering legal action. Pros: The furniture they could fit arrived safely; polite crew Cons: Can't fit much furniture; misleading sales practices more

Bad Worst Moving Company Ever in History!!! 11/20/2009

This is a big red flag alert to anyone looking for a mover. I am not writing this because I am mad but this company is crazy and they are scams. I should have read the reviews on them and checked them out on the BBB before usng them. MY!!!! They said they would be at my house at 9am at 10am I called them four times and he said they were running late due to the weather, it was bright clear sunny day? I told my husband that I had a bad feeling and that I wanted to cancel go with another company the following week, he asked me to give them a chance so I did and MY what a mistake that was. They showed up at 12:00, this move should have taken 5-6 hours tops well they finished up at 3am (15 hours), the men were drinking, asking people that I do not know for menus for lunch one hour after they arrived at my house. They spent most of the time on the toilet (1/2 hour at a time) At my new home they took the toilet cover brand new plastic off the seats threw them on the floor and did there business for a long time, I brought new seats the next morning and had a cleaning service come in. One of the nasty men took the bubble wrap off of my good Lenex glasses and helped his self to water, he didn't even ask me!!! I had provided them with plasic cups, I caught one drinking out of my orange juice container. One spit in my garage, two of the men told me they were out on parole. Anyway they broke two of my china cabinets and told us that they would pay for them, that they are insured, they wrote something on the receipt and told my husband to sign it in the dark, we found out what the man George wrote by the way who is the owners son Steddon Stouse (owner and claims adjustor )and George Stouse that we waived to be refunded, why wouldn't we want our money back!!! They offered us $25.00, the two pieces are totally broken glass was everywhere as well a wood chips, the pieces were 2,000.00 per item. They will not return my calls or emails, I reported them to the BBB and I am going to small claims court as well as the tv station. Go to the BBB website they have many claims againist them and they are not accredited nor indured as they say they are. My walls are scuffed and damaged. They are what you call Scammers!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Best of Philly? I don't think so!! 10/29/2009

--Movers showed up an hour late without apology. --What should have been a 5 or 6 hour move tops took around 13 hours through no fault of our own. -- They weren't able to move all of our furniture in that 13 hours, also through no fault of our own. (We hired different movers to finish the job correctly the following week - I highly recommend them - Old City Movers!) -- The furniture they DID move was not properly wrapped and transported so that our wooden things now have scratches as well as water marks from the rain. And we have two major, un-repairable gouges in one of our hierloom pieces. Pros: None Cons: Everything more

A great local moving experience thanks Eastern Connection Movers 1/30/2009

I and my family hired Eastern Connection Movers to move my home furnishings locally Philadelphia to Philadelphia . Move was the 26th of Jan 09. I must say I couldn't be any happier the move went smooth the crew was on time they were exceptionally careful with my items especially my upright piano since I teach music classes not a scratch. They blanketed my banisters my railings at both residences and even used rug runners for my wooden floors. The cost of my move was very fair and would used them again. I for certain will recommend them to my friends if they would like a quality moving company. I give them 5 stars. Great job Steve Pros: 2 Thumbs up for sure! Cons: none more

AVOID Eastern Connection Movers 11/6/2007

First, Eastern Connection Movers aka Maier's Relocation are scam artists; the "positive feedback" on this site is posted by their inept and obsessive owner (mike or michelle maier). They will ruin your items, delay delivery, steal from you, overcharge and pretty much make your life miserable as it pertains to any move you allow them to do. Look them up on the FMSCA site, and be sure to read the comments on MovingScam website (Maiers Relocation); same company new name, same scam. NOTE: i rated them a one star only because you have to rate it something; if I could I would rate it Negative 50 stars FYI... they are not authorized to transport motor vehicles..simply look them up on the FMSCA Safer site, DOT 1470727 or MC 555386: safer.fmcsa.dot.gov Pros: nothing Cons: late, dirty, theft, scam, more
