dr. gould was recommended to me by someone for mercury filling removal. he did a good job the first time around on the left side of my mouth. the second time i went in, he spent the entire time gossiping with his nurse about someone else in the office who was having lunch with her boyfriend instead of going out with them. i'm not too wimpy about needles but as he began numbing my gums he became more and more agitatated/animated about this girl who was not coming to lunch. i felt a painful shock go through my tongue and i grabbed his forearm. he assured me that this kind of a shock happens ALL the time, it's normal, blahblahblah. my tongue was numb for five months.\r \r i'm an idiot for going back to this guy but i had to have a an emergency root canal (dr. bradley seto is THE MAN for root canal -- it's all he does, btw -- so gentle, precise, and professional --less painful than a filling!) and needed a crown on the aforementioned tooth. dr. gould suggested bleaching my teeth in addition to installing a crown. well, i don't know why, but he put the crown in BEFORE bleaching my teeth. the tooth looked like a chick-let. he said it would look great once my teeth were bleached. it didn't. it was opaque and thicker than the rest of my teeth (sticks out in the back which makes me run my tongue over it every day). the tooth is so obviously fake bleaching has never matched my real teeth to this ""tooth"". i called dr. gould repeatedly to complain -- he called me TWO WEEKS LATER apologizing -- his reason for not calling sooner? he would like to have some ""semblance of a personal life""...um, what? if i called a client two weeks after they called me with a concern i wouldn't have a job! he also said he would send more bleaching syringes -- never got anything.\r \r bottom line: if you don't mind a dentist who wants to spend the entire time gossiping with his nurse instead of focusing on you and your teeth, dr. gould is your guy. if you want a dentist who makes excuses for bad work and careless communication -- dr. joel gould. i wouldn't give ANY stars here but i'm not given that option... more

dissagree with disgruntled review 2/25/2009

wow, i went on-line to write a review about my great experience at Dr. Gould s office, and i just read that big long review. i don't know what that person was talking about, i found the dentist and the staff friendly and professional. i had not been to the dentist in a few years, i was terrified and had anticipated a sterile white coat environment. Dr. Gould was very personable, and made me feel very comfortable, it was a totally surprising experience considering what most dental offices are like. i have been back twice (i need a lot of work!!) anyway, i totally disagree with that other review, i even sent my mother there. there wasn't any gossip, but i wouldn't care, i thought they were that good! Pros: great parking, great staff, helpful with my dental plan benefits Cons: tough to get a cleaning appointment, they are pretty booked up more

dr. gould: ""G"" is for gabby ... 2/18/2009

dr. gould was recommended to me for mercury filling removal. he did one side of my mouth at a time: the first side went well, although i was slightly annoyed at how much dr. gould talks/gossips about people to the attending assistant. went in for the second side: fourth of july is around the corner and dr. gould is on fire gossiping about someone in the office who won't be attending some office lunch -- ""what's she doing??? is she having lunch with her boyfriend AGAIN???"" . well, it just so happens that dr. g. is numbing my gums at the SAME TIME. i'm not a wimp but he's making me nervous and then i feel a shock go through my tongue and i grab his forearm. he tells me he me this is normal, happens all the time don't worry blahblablah. one half of my tongue was numb for 5 months. \r \r i will admit, i am an IDIOT for going back to this clown but i had an emergency root canal with a specialist and needed a crown put on the aforementioned tooth. i go back to dr. gossip girl and he suggests bleaching my teeth in addition to putting a crown in. i had my teeth bleached in his office before and i tell him i didn't think it was successful but like i said, i'm an idiot and agree to both procedures. i still don't understand why he put the crown in before he bleached my teeth -- but he did. not only was the crown way whiter than the rest of my teeth, it was too big/thick --which he blamed on the lab -- but still went ahead and put in. even after my teeth were bleached the crown looked like a chick-let. i called dr. gould to complain and didn't hear from him for TWO WEEKS. he finally called me back and said that his reason for not calling sooner is that he needs to have ""some semblance of a personal life"". excuse me? \r \r bottom line: if you don't mind a gabby, unprofessional, teen working on your teeth, dr. gould's your guy. Pros: can't think of ONE thing Cons: just read the stinkin' review more

Best Dentist Ever 2/12/2009

This was the greatest dental experience ever! I highly recomment this dentist. I just went to another dentist who told me I would have to have a root canal and a crown. Dr Gould was able to treat my tooth as a cavity so he saved me a lot of pain and money. He is honest, truthful and gentle. I didn't even feel the shots of Novacain I was given. When I had my wisdom teeth removed by a different dentist I felt every painful moment of the shots. He is an awesome dentist and definitely worth the hour+ drive it took to get to his office. I never felt rushed either. I am really glad to have found such a great dentist. Pros: Gentle dentist, nice office, friendly staff more

I looked at his website and I was impressed with his involvement in the community. My visit was excellent!!!\r His staff was very friendly and organized. He was detail and confident with his work. THIS OFFICE IS YOUNG AND FULL OF ENERGY..ALSO THE DOCTOR'S ARE HOT!!\r I HAD A VISIT WITH BOTH DR.GOULD AND DR.GRAY ,AND THEY WERE FANTASTIC!\r MY WHOLE FAMILY AND MOST ALL MY FREINDS NOW VISIT THAT OFFICE..\r I NEVER HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME GOING TO THE DENTIST..\r I HAD A FILLING (PAINLESS) HAD WHITENING DONE(SPARKING)I HAD A CROWN( PAERFECT )\r SO THE BUTTOM LINE IS , DRGOULD GOULD IS PAINLESS HAS A GENTAL TOUCH AND IS CARING .(ALSO VERY FUNNY) HE HAS AN AMAZING STAFF YOU CANT GO WRONG !!! Skip Dr. Gray 9/9/2007

I saw Dr. Gray and would NOT recommend him. He admitting to using scare tactics and was completely rude the entire time. I didn't know what to believe when I left because everything he said was completely exaggerated. At one point, he told me ""all my teeth could fall out tomorrow if I didn't run out right now and make an appointment with the specialist"" he recommended. My teeth are not that bad... Just average, a few problems...but nothing crazy like that. Try a different dentist. I won't be returning to him. I can't even imagine him around children. \r Pros: Receptionist was nice Cons: Dr. Gray's bedside manner, rude, scare tactics more
