Dr. Alexander Rivkin - Westside Aesthetics

The degree of unprofessionalism by the staff outweighs the doctor's abilities. I don't reccomend this medi-spa to anyone. The office manager was unfriendly and gave me the vibe that she only "pretends" to care, but genuinely it seems to me that she doesn't. I overheard the staff talking about patients in a very unprofessional way. The doctor's work was decent. But I get the feeling that they care more about making money than they do about the client's overall satisfaction. If you are a college student on a budget, I would go here, but if you have a little more money to spend, I suggest finding a classier place. Also, it is difficult to find parking. more

This is the best medical spa ever! I have tried for so long to find a place that I can feel comfortable at, and put my trust into. Finally I found it... The Westside Medical Spa! The prices are reasonable and affordable, and they know what they are doing! I have done the laser facials (IPL, Fraxel and Thermage), all of which gave me great results. I am only 32, but these treatments are for preventive maintenance. I have also done restylane injections in my lips. All of these treatments have made my skin look so young by erasing all the sun damage and fine lines, and the nice full lips help as well! more

Great office. Dr Rivkin is great with botox. I have never had "droopy eye" (something that can happen if the doc gives you too much too close to your eyebrow). He is super professional, informative and does not try to sell you on more than what you can afford or need. I also have had fraxel in his office which is GREAT! It is a little pricey (but atleast in his office you do not have to get a package that may be 3-5 treatments). However, it is totally worth it, totally permanent and you can go back whenever you can afford to go again. Fraxel definitely works. Depending on how deep your wrinkles are or acnes scars will depend on how many times you have to have it done. I have gone three times and look soooooo much better. I am almost 40 and had some definite skin damage and lawyering wrinkles that needed to be whisked away. I figure I will get it done once a year for the rest of my life. Which all things considered is really cheap to maintain a much younger looking face than I deserve to have! Dr. Rivkin does not do the laser but his staff is great too. I have full confidence in all of them! more

I went to see Dr. Rivkin and his wonderful staff today for Botox, Juvederm and laser hair removal of my legs and bikini. I had originally intended to see a shi-shi dermatologist in Beverly Hills, but the office staff was so rude when I went for the consult, and the doctor was so plastic and unfeeling, that I just didn't get the right vibe (even though I'd heard that he was supposed to be "a God" and "the best"... blah blah blah). When I booked the appointment with Dr. Rivkin, I asked A MILLION questions about the procedures -- especially the laser hair removal -- and the kind woman on the phone took the time to answer all of them with ZERO attitude. She was totally helpful and friendly. Most busy offices would have cut me off in a second. And they were just as friendly in person, as was Dr. Rivkin himself, who as others have described was totally down to earth and not at all like the Ken doll that I saw in the 90210. What was most impressive to me, however, was how patient everyone was with me. Although I was OK with the laser on my legs, the bikini was a bit too much for me. So, the nurse let me reschedule so that I can take a percocet beforehand since I'm a pain wimp. Again, all with ZERO attitude. And, did I mention that I was able to do all of the procedures today for about the same price as what Dr. 90210 wanted to charge me for just the face? Quite the bargain for nice people who do a great job making you look and feel better about yourself. Thanks to you all at Westside Medical Spa! I had a treatment last Friday with Dr Rivkin and it was my most successful experience yet. The injections were absolutely pain free and done in a friendly and careful manner. He let me know what he thought would be best and then went ahead when I agreed . He did my smile lines and also gave me prettier lips. I had no pain that night and the next day had breakfast with a friend who remarked on how great I looked. She didn?t know I had just had a treatment and I didn?t tell her! I didn?t bruise and had no swelling . I would definitely recommend Dr Rivkin to anyone who has had a previous bad experience or to anyone who wants a great one! more

The staff was friendly...offered me coffee and tea when I arrived...sometimes dr. offices have a long wait until you actually get in to see the dr., but this place seemed very organized and up to pace...I didn't have to wait long at all... the treatment was probably the most intimate and I appreciate that they made me feel like a friend rather than a patient. I'll go here again, and again, and again! They also have many different product l ines of skin care available which was nice to have options to choose from....and the esthetician took her time with me explaining which one is best for my skin and why....really nice. I felt they went out of their way to make me feel welcome as a new client....which is a nice feeling. Pros: great prices, nice people Cons: none... more

I have checked out several other places before I stumbled upon Dr. Rivkin and his staff at the Westside Medical Spa. Everytime I go, the staff are very friendly, knowledgable and quite accommodating. Dr. Rivkin's non-invasive procedures are a dream come true for most of us and his work is the best I have seen, read and also watched on TV. What I appreciate the most is that Dr. Rivkin will perform his magic and will never try to convince you to have something done that you do not need. He is a very ethical doctor. I am not sure what I would do if ever he moved his practice out of state! I highly recommend the Westside Medical Spa. more

Dr Rivkin is ok as doctors go. I thought he would give more attention or seem more interested in me. However, the botox injections were fine, office clean and comfy, he was polite and seemed careful. I don't have much to rave about though. Maybe I have higher standards than other patients. (?) The nurse was nice. The front desk staff was horrible and rude. One kept staring at me and tried to smile fakely to cover the rudeness of her behavior. The other one could not answer my intelligent question, and got snipey with me. She did not try to find an answer to my question from someone who would know, and I gave up. I will not go back nor will I recommend this place based on the inappropriate behavior of the receptionists. The low rating is based on that Cons: horrible, rude staff more
