I wanted a contractor who was professional, who showed up until the job was finished, and who did it right. I couldn?t be happier with Doug Gorton and his crew. more

It is now a year later and I contacted Mr. Gorton about coming out and providing the warranty service which came when we originally had our house painted. Once the weather did cooperate with the painting crew, a crew came out in the afternoon and I showed them were our concerns where, the crew then went about caulking all the areas which needed new caulking and also some scraping which needed to be done. since this was in the afternoon, the painters said they would return the next morning (9-10am) and would paint everything needed and the caulking would be dry and it would also be painted. The crew went right to work and painted everything which needed to be painted, including repainting the entire chimney (which we knew needed touch up, but did not know how much it needed a complete repaint) and the porch pole on the back of the house. The front and sides of the house did not need as much work because it seemed as if the wind/rain and dirt particles battered the south side of the house than the east/west/north sides. Doug Gorton lived up to his warranty and did another excellent job at the 1 yr anniversary and I have no doubt at the anniversary of the 2nd year they will return and do another excellent job. Very worthwhile to have a job done with a warranty which actually work. Would have them repaint our house anytime it needs repainting. Doug Gorton Painting. After having mulitple bids done to paint the exterior of my house I went with my gut feeling after talking to Doug. My gut told me that this might be a case where cheaper might not be better. I have been watching houses in my area get prepped and painted for some time now and all I can say is WOW what a difference between the others and Doug. A paint job I expected to take a couple days took almost 8 full days. This was NOT a bad thing. Dougs crew took their time and did everything right. The prep was much better than I expected and the paint job was near perfect. Dougs crew foreman was a big help and an easy guy to talk to. Doug and his crew went "above and beyond", even when I asked them to change the trim color halfway thru the painting process. If you are looking for a painter, look no further. YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! more

Doug?s painter spent the time needed to prep the house and paint it including washing it thoroughly and not only scraping but sanding the old paint where needed?the prep makes the final paint job look significantly better than another recently contracted job in our neighborhood. He also did minor repairs and painted the siding and trim very thoroughly. At least 2 neighbors commented about what a hard worker our painter was and how dedicated he appeared to his work. Doug and his crew of professionals provided me with a highly satisfactory experience and a beautiful result. My home, a 1930s central Austin cottage, has its original clapboard siding. When Doug first saw it I feared he was going to tell me there wasn't much hope (other painters had), and that I should replace the wood with a modern fiber cement board product. I was delighted to be told that the exterior could be restored... and that is what he has now done! I highly recommend Doug Gorton Professional Painting. When I think of Doug, I think of the aphorisms he applies to his work, such as "A stitch in time saves nine" and "The long way is the short way." Doug does everything right the first time. My old frame house required extensive wood repair and replacement before painting could begin, and Doug recommended a very fine carpenter. Doug's crew painted the exterior and part of the interior of my home. I felt comfortable with his skilled and professional crew in my home while I was away. The job seemed to take forever, but that was because so much carpentry was involved. To my great delight Doug has provided first-rate customer service. My house exterior needed a lot of wood siding and trim replaced, then needed a full repaint. I found Doug Gorton. His estimate was on the higher side (tho not the most expensive), but I got what I paid for. Doug himself was a professional, but relaxed and helpful. His experience showed in his processes and decisions, including helping us pinpoint the final paint colors to use. His crew was wonderful, especially the lead, Aurelio. They were always polite, professional, showed good judgment about what wood to replace. They knew their stuff and worked hard. Any time we would have a request about some detail, it was never a problem, always addressed with a smile. We were told 2 weeks to finish it and it was done in 2 weeks. No hidden costs or "well, the problem is bigger than we originally thought so it's now going to cost you more...". No b.s. like that. We got what we paid for and my wife and I are very happy with the results. I really appreciate that they endeavor to serve the customer to ensure they are happy.
