Best

As the owner of Doodles I was stunned to read such a malicious review against my 6 year old son, store, as well as myself.

Worst

I am changing my review of this store- after visiting once again recently I found the staff to be nice and accomadating. Although I still think there is room for improvement, they...

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/29/2013

I love this store! The people, the service and the products are fantastic. There is no other store quite like it in Houston and I will continue going until my kids get too big! Lisa is always friendly and is great to work with. She has lots of ideas on custom bedding and the furniture pieces are beautiful! more

Snobby, rude staff 2/29/2012

I have shopped at Doodles on and off when the need arises for many years. They have unique, up to date items, but I couldn't agree more with the other reviewers. Some of the staff is VERY rude, especially in the custom bedding. What an attitude! Certainly not customer service oriented. Snappy, short, and arrogant. There seemed to be a sprinkling of cheerful, helpful staff, and a smattering of snotty. After interaction with her, I felt uncomfortable, and definitely will try to find other places to shop. more

Worst.Customer.Service.Ever! 1/23/2012

The people who work in this store are rude. They do not care about pleasing the customer. When I told the clerk (Lindsey) by phone that I had ordered the personalized item 30+ times for various baby showers/gifts and done so by phone, her response was still that I had to drive 30 miles to their store to place the order. The only reason I am giving this store one star is that ""no stars"" is not an option. Yes, they have cute, unique items. Guess what? So does any number of other stores in Houston, and they have just gained a new, loyal frequent buyer. more

If you've got what it takes... 8/31/2011

Beautiful, custom, elite. If you have an ego made of steel, perhaps you can endure the less-than-welcoming persona of Doodles. And... a few of the ""5 Star"" reviews were posted by the owner... I'm just saying. more

Doodles has the worst customer service ever 5/29/2011

I signed up on CitySearch just so I could write this feedback about Doodles. I had received warnings from friends about the staff not being very nice and them having problems with custom orders on items like furniture for their child's room. Doodles does carry a nice selection so I have subjected myself to their honestly terrlble customer service a handful of times. This past visit (last week) was equally as poor as prior times. The staff in the store didn't acknowledge me at all- nobody made contact with me, asked if I needed anything, asked how I was doing. And I was one of only 2 customers in the store! the employees were at the check out booth just talking amongst themselves. So I walked in and out of that store without ever being contacted by an employee. The time before I had my 14 month old child with me and was having a hard time figuring out if clothing would fit him. I selected a few items, held them up to his body, he wasn't very happy about it, this whole time not one single employee asked me if they could help, if I needed another size, nothing! This particular time I confronted a nearby employee about their utter lack of customer service. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. Seriously the worst customer service of any store I've ever been in...my entire life! more

Horrible business 2/25/2011

I have gone to doodles many times and have bought many things. I can find almost everything they sell online for cheaper even if you include shipping cost. I have only brought my two year old in store once and never again will i shop there. Don't know if they actually know that they are a children's store. I have a very well behaved two year old, we were in the store looking at bunk beds. My son was checking them out we wanted to make sure he liked them and we were also looking at clothes and everything. Never once were we asked if we needed help and when they saw my son near the bunk beds they were so rude to us until we said we wanted to purchase them, and even then they weren't that nice. my mom and I were shopping around seeing if the temperature of the workers would change and my son was with my father, i went back to check on them and the owners son was sitting talking to them, he was accusing my son of breaking something, he said he was watching him on the camera. I checked out the toy he was talking about and it wasn't at all broken, but he kept on. the owners son was extremely rude to us and nobody was watching him. as we were leaving the store the owner was pulling up, i guess she drops her kid off to be babysat and to bother the customers. clearly they don't care about their customers. we walked out without the bunkbeds which i am very glad we didn't purchase from them. it would have taken 8 weeks to get them and i found them online for $500 cheaper, free shipping, and i got them in a week. more

LOVE DOODLES! 7/10/2010

I recently purchased all of my baby furniture and bedding from Doodles. It was a wonderful experience. The whole staff was very kind and helpful. Lisa, one of the owners, spent a long time with me going over all my furniture options, fabric choices, etc. They pretty much said they could get me whatever I wanted. They have such a big selection with a lot of unique items you won't find at the big retailers. It saddens me to read such negative reviews about this store. I met both Irene (the other owner and mother) and Lisa (the daughter) and they were more than nice. I will surely be back in the future. LOVE this store!! Pros: great selection, unique items, friendly staff Cons: pricey (keep in mind this is an UPSCALE store not Walmart!) more

Terrible customer 6/7/2010

I went to the Doodles store, loved their stuff, bought several things, and then made the big mistake of ordering something from one of their venders. FYI, I ordered letters for my daughter's room that are hand painted. They told me that it would take approximately six weeks for the letters to get the vendors to paint the letters. After 6 weeks, I called several times. The girls said that they didn't have a manager. This was later confirmed by the owner, Lisa. Every time I called, the girls did not follow up with the vendor. They just reassured me that the letters would be there soon. Pros: zzzzzzz Cons: Terrible customer service with wonderful stuff more

Makes me sad 5/3/2010

I have never been in Doodles, but before you go in, you should read what they did to my sister-in-law. Pros: Never been there Cons: Hateful more

BEST BABY BOUTIQUE 4/26/2010

I recently found out I was expecting, so decided to check out all the baby stores in my area. I stumbled upon Doodles in my searching and I'm so glad I did. I was immediately greeted upon entering the store and was asked if i needed any help. Being a first time mom, I needed all the help I could get. I was taken through the store by one of their associates, who showed me all the latest baby trends. She also informed me they offered baby registry. I intend to register with this store as well as purchase my furniture and bedding from them. They have by far the best selection and quality I have seen. Pros: adorable clothing, great gift items, attentive staff Cons: small space more

Rude service 4/20/2010

The service here is rude. It does not matter how much money you spend. The owner is snippy and so is the staff. Pros: cute clothes Cons: Rude, inattentive service more

Very rude and unappreciative of their customers' business 4/13/2010

I recently purchased about $1300 worth of custom bedding and draperies at Doodle's for my little girl's nursery. I received my order within about 6 weeks and was very pleased with the quality of the work. Pros: very cute nursey decor and infant clothing Cons: poor customer service more

Rude 4/2/2010

I went to Doddles yesterday for the first time. I had heard the store sells cute baby stuff and I wanted to buy a Mclcearn stroller. My 11 month old son was a good mood so I thought I would stop by to check out the stroller. Pros: Cute baby items, high end/hard to find baby items Cons: Little help, horrible customer service more

RUDE 3/25/2010

I know Doodles as nice things, yes- we can all agree! Cons: Horrible Customer Service more

Boutique with great gifts! 11/23/2009

Doodles helped me find the PERFECT unique gifts for some friends that just gave birth. At one of my girlfriend's showers, my gift was the most oohed and ahhed over...I definitely picked the right gift, thanks to Doodles! Pros: Selection, Atmosphere, Locationt more

worst cust.serv. ever-RUDE 12/4/2008

I do not know how this place stays in business, i have been there several times as i am hosting a baby shower and every instance where interaction was to be had between myself and an employee was disastrous. I was an inconvenience for the staff, and when i mentioned this to the owner she conceeded and basically said that i could take my business elsewhere and that they were extremely busy. Well, i wanted to let every one know i did take my business elsewhere-Thank you Bering's children's dept(manager is a delight to work with on special order items) and to the manager at doodles who was so rude you-lost out on $1200 of my business and the 30 attendees at our shower. Hope your attitude changes since you do not advertise.Word of mouth could end up being your demise:( Pros: cute stuff Cons: horrible staff-there's only 5 so improvement should be easy more

One word :RUDE! 10/27/2008

It never occured to me to read the reviews on a baby store before heading over to get ready for my baby. The store is cute, thougth over crowded and a bit over priced, but that is fine it's a boutique after all. The owner and some employees are so rude and unwilling to help that you just get so turned off and want to turn back and leave. The owner is extremely argumentative and just generally makes you feel very uncomfortable. it is a baby store for heavens sake, and this woman knows nothing about customer service, or even basic communications skills! One truly wonders how she can stay in business?I predict this store will close down as Bellini and others have , due to the terrible way they have treated people. You can't run a business based on cute stuff alone. There are many people that would never give this woman their business or step foot in her store. Trust me , know one has anything nice to say about this place.Just ask people who have been there! I thought it was just me at first , or that i misunderstood,or that i am pregnant and just sensitive. it turns out there are many other peole that have had really upsetting and bad experiences with this store. Cons: Rude owner, crowded, hard to navigate with stroller, return policy has no flexibility, did I mention rude owner? more

There are other places to shop with better service. 10/22/2008

I recently talked to a very dear friend that spent many hours registering at Doodles for her first baby shower . When shower guest were at the store trying to purchase gifts from her registery the store was unable to access the registry. When my friend called to let them know that her friends were unable to access her registery (not upset - just trying to let them know there was a problem and it needed to be corrected) the owner was very rude and disrespectful. She informed my friend that they had bigger problems than her registry and she would be happy to delete her registry right then and my friend didn't have to shop at her store. more

They yell at pregnant women! 10/20/2008

Rude! Rude! Rude! One person in particular (the mother Irene), is the most spiteful , bitter and ill mannered person I have ever had to deal with in the retail world. My dog has better manners than she does (sorry my sweet dog!). She really should not be in the baby and expectant mother business, or any retail business for that matter. I am 8 months pregnant and being a Doodles customer has been the only negatibve part of my pregancy. She has been insulting to me as well as well as friends and family members trying to buy me gifts off my registry .She has upset me and many other pregnant women beyond belief. The way she has treated me and others is sickening. She has done everything from suggesting I register else where, to telling me that my registry was not her prioroty., yell at me inf ront of customers, and my favourite .. hanging up on me! and i found out she has done it to many many peopel as well, I just could not believe anyone could be so rude! more
