I've been a customer of Figo's for over ten years, since he first opened his store on Southport. I was struck that he remembered my name after my first visit, and he's been my ""go-to"" guy for alterations and for the general care and maintenance nice clothes require ever since. He understands construction and materials, which is a great help when it comes to recommending care options or making me look good. More importantly, he understands people, and the care he takes with them is remarkable. I've come to know his family, and feel so welcomed every time I step into his shop. Lucky for me, he's opened a second store on Rockwell, in my current neighborhood. I trust him implicitly, and you won't find better service, or a more generous and good natured group. DeVrim is not only the best dry cleaner in town, Figo and Alex provide the best customer service I have ever had. Even though I moved out of the neighborhood almost 8 years ago, I still make the drive to DeVrim passing at least 5 other dry cleaners on the way. They go out of their way to be sure everything is cleaned and pressed to perfection even sending things back through a second time for a tough stain that other cleaners would say wouldnt come out! On top of it, they are friendly and hospitable and always have cookies for the dog! Pros: Friendly, great service Cons: none! more

Figo and Alex are fantastic. With all of the customers they serve, it is amazing that they both know each of them by name. I couldn't ask for better service. I first used Devrim because they were the closest cleaners to my apartment - they were on my block. But, even though I recently moved several blocks away, I continue to use Devrim (even though it requires that I get in my car and drive past a half dozen other neighborhood cleaners). When I moved to Chicago I knew very few people and lived just around the corner from DeVrim. There were many times that I was second guessing my decision to move to Chicago and every time I'd round the corner to go to work Figo would remind me it was a good decision. And he never actually said it out loud. It was just his genuine interest in my life and the warm smile he would give me every time he saw me. I was a small town girl used to everyone knowing me and everything being familiar. Now it's 5 years later and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. And I couldn't imagine visiting any other dry cleaner every Saturday morning. Not only has Figo become a member of my family, a man I admire, a father I look up to, but he has become someone I turn to when something good happens or if I want to complain. Shortly after my move to Chicago Alex was added to the DeVrim family. Figo couldn't ask for a more perfect apprentice. Alex is kind, giving, and professional. Figo is so lucky to have such a dependable co-worker. All in all, I do believe I might travel hundreds of miles just to drop of my dry cleaning....well, probably not 100. When my wife and I moved to Chicago a year ago, we thought ourselves lucky to have a dry cleaner within sight of our house. But we don't go to that dry cleaner. We walk an extra block or so to Devrim, where we can expect a handshake and a hearty hello from the affable, funny, hard-working Figo and Alex (Alex being the good-looking one). They do a terrific job of cleaning and alterations at a fair price. But that's not the main attraction of Devrim. Figo and Alex aren't just great dry cleaners--they are neighbors, in every sense of the word. I sometimes stroll down there on a Saturday afternoon for no reason but to chat with the groups of folks who inevitably gather there for a cool beverage and a sampling of Figo's charming and wacky humor. Of course the New Year's Eve party is a draw as well. I'd never given a second thought to my dry cleaners, except as a place to get something done. Now I think of it as part of my weekend relaxation--like an old-fashioned barber shop or hitching post or general store. Figo and Alex are quite simply the best in Chicago. Figo and Alex are great! They know everyone that comes into Figo's store on a first name basis (including babies and dogs!) and are always willing to stay open late if you run in just before closing time. Additionally, my clothes are always cleaned well, on time, and they do a nice job with alterations and tailoring. Figo is the 'American Dream!' He has worked exausting hours for over 11 years. During that time I have had the pleasure of getting to know Figo and can say he considers me his friend. The feeling is definitely mutual. Above all of the positive feedback about Devrim Cleaners, the thing that separates this shop from every other local shop is the fact that I am not what you consider a good customer and Figo still treats me like a 'big spender.' Ten shirts a month is about average, hardly worth the time to say Hello, yet Figo is always quick to shake my hand, call me by my name and offer me tea or any beverage I choose. Recently I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Topal upon the recommendation of my friend at work (he said he found Devrim Cleaners on myspace at devrimchicago) . When I tell them that I am friends with my dry cleaner. I've been going to Figo since 1993. When I moved out of the neighborhood it took me all of two weeks and one burnt shirt that the Lincoln Park dry cleaner wouldn't fess up to burning to make me return to Figo. In comparison, Figo once lost my shirt, but before I even noticed it he told me about it and asked me how much the shirt cost new. I told him and he gave me a choice of money or free dry cleaning until his debt was paid. I doubt there are any other dry cleaners as honest.\r \r I've since moved back to the neighborhood and have added a wife and children, all of whom look forward to seeing Figo. There are treats for my kids and a choice of beverage for the adults. more

This place is unbelievable! This is the first dry cleaners I have been to where people drive from the suburbs to have their clothes cleaned. The service is excellent, I don't know how Figo and Alex remember everbody's name by face, but honestly they do. The alterations are outstanding, I even pass on having my clothes altered for free by the department store so I can have Figo alter them. This store is the model for the neighborhood dry cleaner, great service and personality, and the only dry cleaner with free beer on Saturday. more

All of our clothes are cleaned and pressed perfectly! Figo is a perfectionist and has returned shirts because he thinks they need to go through the cleaner another time! He is thoughtful, kind, even helping carry your dry cleaning to your car! What a place! more

Fortunately Figo opened a second location in Lincoln Square! Throughout the 6 years that I have lived in Chicago, I haven't been loyal to a dry cleaners until I found Devrim Cleaners. The customer service is miles above any other establishment in Chicago. I am always greated by name and Figo always remembers statements I mentioned in previous visits. \r \r In addition to the customer service, I have always been very impressed with the cleaning service and the alterations are flawless.
