Figo, Alex, & Nina - these are some of the nicest people I know. \r \r We moved away from the neighborhood and still come back to DeVrim on Southport. Nina will make you look stunning in that bridemaids dress or those maternity pants that dont' quite flatter. Alex will help you to your car week after week. \r \r Figo will do what ever he can to help - with a bustle, a purse strap, a favorite t-shirt. He will share his pizza, Turkish treats, tales of foreign lands, that delight he takes in his kids. Stay and chat or grab a tootsie roll and run. You don't need to look around for a more caring, dedicated bunch. more

New Year's Eve at the dry cleaners? 6/14/2006

And I saw all my neighbors there too!\r \r This is a great neighborhood dry cleaner. Figo is a man who understands that dry cleaning is a service business. He knows your name, always shakes your hand and offers tootsie rolls for the people and dog biscuits for the dogs. Not to mention Turkish coffee. \r \r And the alterations are top notch... Figo once took apart a pair of my pants (from the GAP) because the seam was crooked and that was the only way to get a level hem. And he refused to take money for hemming my mom's new pants.\r \r more

Best Dry Cleaners 6/13/2006

It's hard for any other dry cleaner to compete!! He knows your name and greets you with a handshake and smile every time you enter his store. He always has a treat for your dog and if you time it right, he will offer you a turkish coffee or a cold beverage. He is always working hard to accomodate your busy and unexpected schedule. I've been going to DeVrim for 10 years (even though I moved out of the neighborhood) and consider Figo, his family, Alex and Nina the best best service company in Chicago, as well as, friends. Pros: Excellent and personalable service Cons: Figo hasn't opened a store in Wriggelyville more

Devrim is more than a dry cleaning service. Its owner, Figo, has literally transformed his business into something that represents the best of human values. Heart, pride in your work, generosity, and hospitality. When you walk in the door you feel like you have entered into Figo's home. Quality Service with a Smile and a Turkish Coffee. 6/10/2006

Upon entering Devrim Cleaners, you are greeted with a hello by name, generous smiles, and of all things, an offer of a freshly-made Turkish Coffee. The owner, Figo and his assistant Alex not only know extactly who all their customers are by name, but also remember exactly what you dropped off the last time. Not only are the cleaning services excellent, but Figo is a master tailor, who can perform miracles on women's and men's clothes alike. He even does extensive tailoring on men's suits. \r \r Figo and Alex also maintain a community atmosphere in thier little shop by holding occasional parties, like thier famous New Year's Eve party, complete with authentic Turkish homemade dishes. \r \r If you are at all close to 3134 North Southport, you have no other choice but to patronize Devrim. more

I've been in Chicago over 13 years, used quite a few cleaners before I found Devrim Cleaners & Figo many years ago. Customers are welcomed with a greeting like your family; think ""Cheers"". If you're looking for a personal touch, special care for your clothes and someone who is excellent with alternations -- look no futher! I've gone to DeVrim for about five years now and still travel back now that I've moved to a new neighborhood. I don't even want to try anywhere else. A Turkish Superman and a Mexican Wonder-Woman join forces to create the best Dry Cleaning customer service story in town. A true American success story! You know what's the best thing about these folks? In this day and age, they actually care. Honest. There's nothing impersonal about the way they do business. They do a fabulous job in the time frame you need it, are wonderfully friendly, and I challenge you to walk out of there without a smile. They've taken a hit since the Rockwell Brown Line station closed down, but I still make the trip. Give 'em a chance, and I bet you will too! more

Customer service at its best. 5/16/2006

I have been spending time with Figo for approximately 12 years. Hands down, I have never had better customer service in my life. Figo has a smile and handshake for everyone that enters his store and will never forget your name. My favorite experience with Figo happened 9 years ago. I was leaving on a business trip and had forgotten to pick up my close. I left a message at the store and Figo not only called back but meet me at the store on a sunday night. Thats customer service. more

Devrim Cleaners is worth the drive for us! 5/16/2006

We live a distance away from Devrim Cleaners, but the drive is certainly worth it. Prompt, expert service, a warm hello, treats for the kids and a biscuit for the dog. He actually does care! 5/16/2006

Not only will Figo clean your shirts/pants/whatevers, he also knows that we sometimes can't make the ""normal work hours"" and he is often at his Rockwell location before his posted ""store hours"" and will often allow me to come in early to pick up my things. Also, while I was in the hospital; he sent his most sincere concerns up to me in the hospital, and when I returned, he welcomed me home with a warm handshake and a cold BEvERage... He is a true gem! Classic old time Merchant! 5/11/2006

I have been doing business with Figo for many years and he has never lost a shirt! He makes my clothes fit when I am fat and when I am sometimes slim without ever commenting on the direction I am heading. On a hot summer afternoon it is also possible to be offered a refreshing beverage to go along with the conversation! A good guy, big heart and good service. His old world charm and attention to detail has allowed him to build his business and become an asset to our neighborhood! more

You will find Devrim Cleaners very satisfactory. I know Mr.Figo for almost seven years. He creates a friendly atmosphere that he even remembers my dogs birthday. I like how he combines his sense of humor with his business ethic. I highly recommend. more

to not so thril1972 and jonnycakes;\r we know you are the same person. We know why? you are so jealousy. We know you are trying to run dryclean-laundry business too but be fair to your competitions also. We love Figo, Alex and Nina they are great. We never got any deal oyher than first class services. Figo is very hard working and humble nice person and he is the best in his business.\r Not just me and my boyfriend goes to Devrim Cleaners we try to tell everyone we meet. They know what is\r the Quality of work on Dryclean or Alteratinos. FIGO please keep the AMERICAN DREAM LIFE live. Pros: allways great work and they know my name and my cloths better than I do. Cons: Figo is only half day at this location. more

Not only is the atmosphere fun - Figo is like the mayor of the neighborhood - but he's also a helluva dry cleaner/tailor. Worth the trip, even if you don't live near the Belmont/Southport area. Pros: Friendly, Professional Cons: pricey, but worth it more

Figo, the owner and operator of DeVrim Cleaners, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. He always knows his customers by name, and goes above and beyond to ensure that they are happy with the services he provides. I have seen people just stop in to say hello to him, even if they did not have any clothing to drop off or pick up. I live nearby, but if I ever move to a different neighborhood, I would go out of my way to continue to give DeVrim Cleaners my business! more
