yes, I feel so relieved having Nina back at the store after her personal injury! she's been doing alterations for me and I highly recommend her services to anyone. Nina is the only reason I keep going to this store as she's the best at what she's been doing for years. She's the sweetest lady I have known, and probably the most dedicated to her job. I cant believe that everyone likes this place! They ruined two of my sweaters by drying them! I will never go to this cleaners ever! I have been going to DeVrim on Southport for years. Alex, Figo and Nina are extremely nice and Nina is amazing at tailoring. I have taken many different types of things to her to get altered and every single time they are flawless. The staff knows everyone's names and make people feel welcome when they come to their store. They even have treats out for our furry friends! Highly recommended! more

I tried these guys out because 1.)They are close to me, and 2.) They had so many good reviews. I don't believe these reviews, because after taking clothes there twice, I've noticed that my shirts do not seem clean, and they are not pressed, well, they have wrinkle spots in various places pressed into the shirts. Also, THEY TAKE OUT ALL OF YOUR COLLAR STAYS and DO NOT give them back to you. You have to pick up random shirt stays from their little basket. I had to write a review when I read the ""review"" by ""Don't be fooled."" It is obvious that this individual has never been to Devrim Cleaners. Both Figo and his manager Alex are truly friendly and kind and we are always very pleased with the way our clothes are cleaned. We had a particularly tough stain not come out and they insisted that they take it back and try again without my even asking. I know it may seem fake to have so many effusive compliments for a dry cleaners but after having gone there for years, I can tell you that these reviewers are being honest. Google Figo Topal, and see the unbiased editorial articles that have been written about him in the Trib and Suntimes The service is impeccable and WAY above and beyond. What other dry cleaner will open up on a Sunday just to help out a customer in a bind?--true story--or make a home delivery (which is not part of their service) to a sick customer? By all of these great reviews.. Reviews should be honest, genuine opinions that were spurred on by excellent - or poor service. Take a look at the dates on these reviews - so far, ALL 46 reviews (as of 6/28/07) have been posted in the last 2 months! Funny, since in the several years Citysearch has had this rating system in place, I think every other cleaner in Chicago COMBINED has maybe 10 reviews - but this tiny little place (That doesn't even do their own cleaning!) has 46 reviews in 2 months? Figo Topal is one of the most honest and understanding business men that I have ever met. Although my relationship with him has not been as long as others (some customers have been working with him for 15 years or more) I am confident that I have found a reliable dry cleaner that will care for my personal belongings as if they are his own. Figo is persistent in his stain removal and will not return products to his customers that do not exceed expectations. I have given Figo clothing that is stained and he will work on my clothing until the stain is removed regardless of the additional costs that he must cover. He shows the utmost respect and appreciation for not only his customers and employees alike. He welcomes everyone into his business as if it is his home. Some customers prior to my review have stated that Figo ?is an alcoholic, damaging himself and his family? and that he ?put downs during political discussions on our core American values.?. Not only is this a grammatically incorrect statement, it is false. Figo has worked very hard to get where he is and does nothing but live daily by the core American family values which I practice daily. And no, I am not a ?boozie? as a previous writer may assume. I don?t find the importance in commenting on the ?alcoholic? statement because frankly it is comical. Figo has a family which he adores and he would lay down his life before he would do anything to harm them. I am certain that this opinion on Figo?s political views is simply an assumption. I have never witnessed Figo sharing any sort of political opinion within the walls of his business. In fact, during the recent Alderman election, Figo would not post signs for either party in an attempt level the playing field but he did provide equal literature for his customers to review on behalf of both candidates. I travel quite a lot, and most of the time I fly overseas. Before I go, I used to bring a\r Lots of laundry to Devrim Cleaners. During long travels I don?t want bother with the cleaners on strange lands or pay premium hotel prices.\r I used to give very detailed descriptions for my needs even sometimes I wrote notes on them so during the peak hours he may forget, what I said. \r Many times my orders were late, before the travel and I didn?t have time for corrections, the rare buttons were lost, even some small damages, stains were there even more visible. Under the friendly look he was argumentative, defended the mistakes, then after awhile he offers a compensation I don?t need and have no time. \r Nina is good. She is genuinely kind and helpful person. I guess she is Figo?s wife, there are times, she is treated very badly even yelled near customers.\r My understanding of cleaner is fast, efficient service with experience and knowledge, I don?t go to the cleaner to drink booze or make political discussions or eat cookies. There are better places for these. I?ve had my up?s and down?s with numerous dry cleaners before Devrim, and I don?t plan on going back to them any time soon. Not only do you go to Devrim for excellent service and quality of work, but it?s a rare thing in today?s world to have such amazing personality in a dry cleaners. First let me state that finding a good dry cleaner in the City of Chicago is very difficult. And ratings are relative when there are far too many poor dry cleaners. This establishment is run by very nice people. After reading the reviews, besides being customer friendly I was hoping to find an expert at both dry cleaning and laundry. Don't confuse friendly customer service with competence. In my opinion, this establishment is below average. To stand out and be the best, stain removal needs to be done not only with care but with expert knowledge. It's not. A good dry cleaner needs to differentiate between types of stains and the best solution to address the problem without making it worse. Why would you bring something into a dry cleaner with a stain only to return home with a worse stain in a different color than the orginial stain!? And when it was brought to their attention, it was if that's standard operating procedure. I also expect good fininishing. By that I mean the pressing of shirts should not have ""puckers"" around the seams on the body of the shirt and on the cuffs. Finishing at this establishment is also below average. Six shirts stuffed into one plastic bag, no collar supports and puckers isn't my idea of an outstanding drycleaner. I 've tried this establishment on numerous occasions and because of what I've experienced, in my opinon it's not the best and it's time for me to move on. I have used DeVrim Cleaners for the past 9 years. Initially I lived around the corner and moved to Bucktown and now Ukranian Village. Figo and Alex have exceptional customer service and attention to detail. If a shirt, pants, suit is not perfect they will keep it until it is. Very few...if any will do this.
