My experience was great and the staff was very helpful

I have been an active licensed real estate agent for 7 years. I work with renters and landlords, and I have been both a renter and a landlord myself. I have also worked previous...

Just rented out the house I renovated, no issues 12/6/2010

Just used Desert Wide a little over about 9 months now, already rented out the house I renovated. No issues, at least non worth noting. Sure there were small maintenance issues but nothing out of ordinary. more

Give and take, give me a break 10/25/2010

I used desert wide for my property in tempe, though there wasnt much of bites and attempts I cannot sit here and blame them like everyone else does. its our economy, what more else do you want. real estate isnt what it was before. more

If your looking for a home to rent, or even for private listings that may not be listed on websites or a condo or town home, call Desert Wide Properties to get started. more

Pleased with my overall experience 10/15/2010

Property management companies are always going to have their up and downs, this one does do their best and are getting better. Pleased with my overall experience. more

They treated me with respect 9/27/2010

I love Desert Wide Property! When I came in to put my property up for rental they were courteous and thorough in the details that needed to be done. They are quick to contact me when a issue arises and have treated me with only respect. If you are in need of a management company I would recommend DWP. I could not ask for anything more! Keep up the good work! more

Very fair 9/23/2010

I have been a client with DWP for almost seven years and they manage four homes for me. Desert Wide Properties has looked out for my best interest and is very fair working with my tenants and myself. more

Amazing horse friendly homes and communities. Very happy with my home. more

Good customer service 7/29/2010

It was good and they had very good customer service. This really is a good management company, even though the rentals may be in a slump due to the economy, they do help and assist ways to locate renters. Every business has their flaws but this is also your own business as well. more

Rented with them for almost a year 7/22/2010

I rented from Desert Wide Properties for almost a year and when I was transferred to another state and was attempting to transfer my lease to new tennants (who really wanted the property) Desert Wide did everything they could to make that possible. more

desert wide has rules for reason 3/24/2010

unfortunately, you have some tensnts who are direspectful of properties, live in flfth/squalor, akin to third world conditions. some tenants do not understand treating property with respect. many on this board are probably moe aligned with that crowd and get angry when deposits are held for repairs due to tenant abuse. dwp is fine. some tenants are not fine. more

DESERT WIDE IS A FRAUD 12/4/2009

I rented a home in Tempe Arizona in October 2008. Through out our rental we experienced extreme lack of responsibility and organization from Desert Wide Properties. Many maintenance and repair issues were ignored, phone calls and emails were never returned. Finally after refusing to pay the next months rent Desert Wide got back to me with the decision to reimburse me for half of what was needed. Broken water pipes, faucets, oven burners, and toilets were a few of the essentials that were never taken care of. After a few months in the house myself and my two roommates started to experience server allergy like sickness. After a visit to the doctor we discovered it was a Mold caused allergic reaction. We notified Desert WIde with in 24 hours with a notarized letter stating the need for a mold expert to examine the home. Thankfully the property manager got back to us with an email letting us know a mold inspector (of Desert Wides choosing) was being sent to our home with in 24 hours. Personally i was there to speak with the inspector while he conducted his inspection. After he concluded his inspection he told me and my roommates that the homes condition was an extreme health hazard and he was sending Desert Wide a report stating unhealthy/unsafe living conditions. We were told directly from the inspector to leave to home as soon as possible. The following day we got a phone call from our property manager letting us know we had been released from the lease and to move out by the end of the month (04/30/09). Everything and everyone was out of the home by the next morning (04/24/09). 4 months after leaving the home i received a phone call from the city of tempe notifying me that i was being ticketed from the unkept condition of the yard at my previous rental home. I told them to contact Desert Wide properties for i had not been living there in over 4 months. 7 months later i applied to an apartment complex with little time to find a place to live. I was denied my apartment for the sole reason that my rental history reported that I owed over 2 thousand dollars to Desert Wide Properties. I immediately started calling Desert Wide to find out what was going on. No phone calls were answered by the manager. I left many voice mails stating the urgency of the situation for I had no place to live due to being rejected from the apartment complex. No response or returned phone calls. Finally I went to the office in person. Not only was I belittled and spoken down to, the manager refused to come out of her office to speak with me. I then told the receptionist that I would not be leaving until i spoke with someone. The manager then came out, she was rude right off the bat and wouldn't even shake my hand in introduction. She let me know my issue was not on her list of things to get done quickly and that it would be at least over a week to come up with the research needed. I emphasized the fact that because of their wrong doing I now have no where to live until the issue is resolved. She had little to no concern or understanding for my terrible situation. This company needs to be stopped. Charges From Desert Wide Properties: (7 months after being released from the property due to unsafe living conditions from MOLD) I left the house in 100X better condition then it was when i first moved in. Great Management Company 12/4/2009

I have been a client with DWP for almost seven years and they manage four homes for me. Desert Wide Properties has looked out for my best interest and is very fair working with my tenants and myself. \r \r As a landlord it is horrible the way some tenants live and do not take care of the house. You are more then likely the people who have written these reviews.\r Pros: repairs/collecting rent/rentals Cons: Owner statements hard to read more

Disgusting!Awful!Horrible 11/10/2009

\r This company is completely disgusting. We received an estimate statement and we were being charged extra, including our security deposit. I also have an email stating that we are not responsible for painting. SO WHERE IS OUR MONEY! I get no response. Well, I do but I get responses like ""we will no longer discuss this with you"". How is that? Unbelievable. This company needs to go away.\r Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

SCREWED OVER BY DESERT WIDE PROPERTIES!!! 11/28/2008

Renting from Desert Wide Properties gave me the opportunity to lose $1,300!!!! Isn't that exciting! Rent from them if you'd like a nice session of getting bent over, too!\r \r It doesn't matter if you're a model tenant. If you kept your property tidy, if you kept up maintenance on the property by painting, getting the carpets cleaned (on your own dime) and even having the tiles professionally cleaned.\r \r NOPE! Desert Wide Properties will find a way to keep all of your deposit and then even be courteous enough to SEND YOU A BILL!\r \r I was charged $300 to have the house dusted, it seems. No mind that I spent hours on my knees with a scrub brush and a bucket of soap and water to clean all the tile in the house. Cleaning out every drawer.\r \r I was also charged $295 to pull weeds that didn't exist. Funny how those weeds seem to sprout even though we used vegetation killer on the rock areas.\r \r I was charged $400 for carpet cleaning despite having a receipt!\r \r I was charged $65 for keys that were turned in!\r \r I was charged for a mail key that didn't exist!\r \r You get the picture. Wow.\r \r I'm not the only one. Unfortunately I didn't find out about them until a couple years into my lease. That's right, I rented from them for YEARS and it doesn't matter. I think Mia Aldana, the kind woman who screamed at me over the telephone and hung up on me, has taken great joy is screwing me and others over. It's probably a good way for her to get her frustrations out. Pros: NONE NONE NONE Cons: Unprofessional staff, Unethical business practices, will find any way to take your deposit no matter how hard you work to return the property in better condition than it was recieved. more

Unethical and Rude! 9/12/2008

I've dealt with a lot of property management companies, all bad b/c it's the nature of the business I think...but...Desert Wide is by far the most unethical and dishonest company (not just prop mng.) I have ever dealt with. Not only did we NEVER know who our manager was b/c they changed it all the time and never told us...every time we called the receptionist was rude and unhelpful...they also made the move out extremely difficult.\r \r We were perfect tenants. Always paid our rent on time, no damage to the house, gave appropriate notice upon move out, etc... As a repayment for our cooperation, the inspector completely fabricated lies about the condition of the home. When we addressed our property manager, she ignored our first 5 attempts to contact her, then was completely rude and actually threatened us with FALSE legalities when we finally did speak with her. We'd already spoken with a tenant's advocacy group and they informed us of the law. I guess our manager thought she could just make it up as she went along. But there was nothing we could do about it, because they'd already been so dishonest with us, we were afraid they'd make up more lies about us just to get more money. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Pros: none. Cons: dishonest, rude, unprofessional, unethical. more

BAD DO NOT RENT 2/14/2008

Everything started out great, friendly service and all. However, problems started immediately. When the people came to repair damages from previous renters (a door had a hole in it, for example) they didn't really FIX anything. The door with the hole in it they patched with a rubbery white substance, which worked, I didn't really care, I wasn't planning on using that bedroom for much anyway. \r However when I decided to move out of my lovely 4-bedroom house in Gilbert, I had the carpets cleaned (as per rental agreement) and left the house in really good shape. They then sent someone to look at the house (my rental agreement ended Sept 1st). After a week, they sent me a bill for over a thousand dollars (about a month's rent.) I paid and have the reciept in my files (GOOD THING.) TODAY 2/14/2008 I recieved a notice from a collections agency stating that I still owe them $934.00. Even if that is a mix-up, That's my CREDIT they are mixing up!!!! Will try to recontact Desert Wide tomorrow.\r \r YOU DO NOT WANT TO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Pros: seemed nice at FIRST Cons: Trap you with fees, can't keep what you paid straight, OVERALL SHADY. more

Excellent customer service 12/27/2007

I was new in town and needed to find a place to live and was referred to Desert Wide Properties by a friend. The leasing staff was wonderful and helped me find my dream home. In fact the entire staff was very helpful and understood the stress that I was under in locating a place to live.\r Once I moved in I had a few maintenance issue that needed completed and they were taken care of within 24 hours. I could not be more pleased with my choice of management companies. Pros: Leasing staff, maintenance staff and office manager more

Unprofessional 10/25/2007

I recently used DWP to rent my apartment from a homeowner. When I moved in and throughout my stay there were many issues I had, from very cheap appliances that would break often to unorganized billing. I then moved out after a year, and left the place very clean. I had given a very large deposit which I fully expected to get all or at least most of it back. Several weeks after my move out date I received an invoice demanding an additional payment or I would be turned over to a credit bureau. I was shocked because I have been in apartments for approx 10 years now and have never had to pay in addition to my deposit. I always spend a lot of time cleaning when moving out and basically leave it as when I moved in. Apparently the walkthrough was done w/ the homeowner demanding several times for the cleaners to come back, even though DWP agreed with me it was clean. They then charged whatever the homeowner asked for, and insisted that I pay a large amount of money in addition to my deposit. I wrote a letter as they asked to dispute the claim, then they sent me another letter demanding the same amount. I asked for receipts or proof of what they were charging but none was given. I highly encourage all to use another, more professional/organized/responsible realtor Cons: unorganized, rude, unprofessional more

Very Unprofessional and Disrespectful!!! 7/18/2007

In May 2007, I gave more than 30 days notice to DWP that I would be moving due to gettting married in June. DWP sent me a list of items that would need to be cleaned/replaced, which I did. On 6/28, I completed a walk through with a DWP staff, the staff signed a walk through sheet noting the good condition of the property. I then surrendered my keys to a staff at the office (6/28). I also mentioned to the staff for the benefit of the next tenant that the house was very difficult to keep immaculate due to the walls being stark white with flat primer, and the back yard had no irrigation ( which made keeping plants alive very tough). The staff person didn't seem to care or understand why I was sharing this with her and said I would recieve a deposit refund in 7-14 days. \r Upon returning from my honeymoon (7/9), I received a certified DEMAND TO SURRENDER PROPERTY due to failing to pay July's rent. Kinda funny since I surrendered property on 6/28. I left messages for the property manager, who finally returned my phone call after 3 days and a stern voicemail. She seemed to think that letter was not a big deal and just an oops. \r On 7/17 (19 days after I left the property), they conducted another walk through and found the house to be ""dusty"" and charged me a $165 cleaning charge. They also stated that the smoke dector was beeping and charged me $20 to replace a battery. This was all deducted off my security deposit. I attempted to call and speak to the property manager and was given various reasons why I could not speak to her. I called back and asked to speak to the manager and was sent to her voicemail. I called back again and then heard the receptionist say ""It's her again"" in a whisper and was ""disconnected"" . Finally, I left a voice mail which was not returned. \r They are very rude, disrespectul, and overall, uncaring toward their tenants. As tempting as they advertise to be - try elsewhere if you are a renter! Pros: Huge selection of properties - that is it! Cons: Rude, disrespectful, no follow through or timely return calls, lazy more

Worst Property Management company EVER!!! 6/6/2007

I have had several leases in my time and I have never experienced such terrible customer service and lack assistance from any other rental company. They employees at this company, from the receptionist to the office manager are all terribly rude, as if they are trying to chase business away. I rented from this company for almost a year and when I was transferred to another state and was attempting to transfer my lease to new tennants (who really wanted the property) Desert Wide did everything they could to make that impossible and leave me with the bill. I would not recommend this company to anyone, I have already filed two complaints to various agencies, that's how bad they are! Pros: no pros whatsoever Cons: rude employees, no followup, lazy, unhelpful, no returned phonecalls more
