We purchased a Marquis E-Series Spa in 2013. After a few bumps in the road with a delivery date our spa arrived and set up with on problems. I would recommend Donna and staff if you are interested in purchasing a Spa. more

As I set watching the morning news and see the Desert Springs Pools commercial with the owner, Lin Wippel it just makes my blood boil. I have never written an on line review but my experience with them was so awful I feel compelled to.\r \r Desert springs did a remodel of my pool to the tune of $18,000+ which included installation of a Pentair automation center and salt cell. From the second week after they were done the automation did not work correctly. The pumps would start up and shut down themselves randomly when they were not programed to do so. And the salt cell constantly blows fuses.\r \r When I contacted Desert Springs (Now this was within the first 2 week) they pawned me off on the manufacture, Pentair. Desert Springs just washed there hands of it and would not get involved!\r \r I tried several times to call Lin Wippel and he refused to call me back. His salesman did call me back but told me it was not there problem and I had to deal directly with Pentair. When I questioned him that this started after the second week after install and I purchased the system from Desert Springs he stated, ""they only do the install but don't warranty the Pentair product, it is done directly by the manufacture""\r \r After 6 months of emails back and forth to Pentair and 8 visits to my house by repair people (including a factory rep from Pentair) The system still does not work correctly.\r One of Pentair’s fixes they said need to be done was that the pump (which was a 2.5 year old Pentair Intellaflow) the electronics were bad and needed replace. \r \r The pump was 6 months out of warranty so I came out of my pocket with another $1000.00 to replace the pump. And guess what, that was not the problem. (And Pentair refused to take the new pump back or refund me my money) So on top of all the aggravation I am out another $1000.00\r \r To finally fix the problem they replaced the remote and it stopped the problem of the phantom pump start up when it was not programed to. The salt cell still blows fuses constantly and at this point I don’t use it anymore. The remote has a very short range, most of the times you have to stand close to the equipment for it to work.\r \r The remodel also included replacing the tile around the outside of the spa. It was done so poorly, the grout lines are wavy and they would not do anything about it.\r \r The plumbing repair they did in the wall of the spa is now leaking and seeping through the tile and I have yet to address that one.\r \r So the bottom line, they are great during the sales process but when it comes to service after the sale it’s “buyers beware”\r more

Buyer beware! We paid approximately $65,000 for a Desert Springs pool, not to mention we also spent $18,000 for landscaping with them. The $65,000 was for a 16 ft x 38 ft pool with a depth of 6 feet. Unfortunately, that is not what we got and they have yet to remedy this situation for us. \r \r The pool is 16 ft x 37’8” and the deepest point of the pool is only 5 feet deep. We had an in-depth, face-to-face discussion with the salesman, Al McIntosh, about why we wanted a 6-foot deep pool. The reason why this was so important to us is because my husband is 6’2” and he did not want to only be only chest deep in our pool in the deep end. \r \r When we went over the contract with the salesman (he was on one side of the desk and we were on the other), he pointed to all the numbers on the contract and verbally said everything that we had wanted and discussed, including a depth of 6 feet. He wrote a number for depth that they now are insisting is a 5, but does not look like a 5 and does not look like a 6 either (it could be either a 5 or 6). I didn’t realize that I needed to put on my reading glasses and question the number that he wrote down when he was verbally stating exactly what we discussed and what we wanted for our pool.\r \r When I called Al McIntosh on the phone, I said to him that I sincerely hope that he was not going to lie and say that we did not spend a considerable amount of time on the importance of the 6-foot depth. Of course, he did lie and just kept repeating to me that he “could not recall”.\r \r We were also just told to read the back of our contract and that 3-5” is an acceptable margin of error for the length or width of the pool. Naturally, of course, it is not 4 inches over, but it is 4 inches short!\r \r Additionally, they are now trying to extort an additional $3,000 from us even though we are paid in full and have all of our documentation that we are paid in full! I have asked for a specific list of everything that we paid for and they have REFUSED to send it to me. They just keep sending a 4-line spreadsheet and say we have any outstanding balance due to their accounting error, but it is not their policy to send a detailed statement of each cost. \r \r Also, the first time we sat down with the salesman, we made it clear that we only had an 8-foot wide gate to the back yard and that we had 2 air-conditioning units on that side of the house. He wrote up the contract based on this and then a week (or so) later, he said “oops, we need to charge you an additional $1500 for your dig because our big equipment won’t fit.” We were very, very unhappy about this to say the least and they said that they would give us a bargain and only charge us an additional $500.00. \r \r We also talked to 2 other homeowners in our neighborhood that used Desert Springs (unfortunately, not before we contracted with Desert Springs) and they would also never recommend Desert Springs to anyone. \r \r And finally, they were unable to get our $600 pool remote and pool heater to work and it was over a month and several visits to our home by several different people before things would work. They also screwed up the installation of our salt system and it leaked like a sieve! Again, it was quite a while before they managed to get it fixed. Naturally, nothing worked when we had family come all the way from Ohio (and California) because it took them so long to fix their screw-ups. \r \r There are other reputable pool builders in town and we really regret that we did not choose a different builder!\r more

I recently called Desert Springs Landscaping and Desert Springs Pools to have my yard done. The salesmans came out and designed the yard exactly the way I wanted it. Although it was a little over our budget we started the project anyhow. The project took 3 months and we couldnt be happier. I just wanted to post because usually people post negative instead of positive. Great job and I will reccomend all my friends. more

Lack of customer service skills & never return phone calls. NEVER!!\r \r My husband and I have also had a horrible experience with Desert Springs Pools. We have had to explain the plans to every construction crew that has come to our house because the foreman in charge has given them all the wrong plans. We seriously have to go out there every time we see workers and explain everything they planned on doing is not accurate, then draw it out for them to make sure they know what the new plans were supposed to look like. Imagine the frustration of doing that for every crew after you just gave this company $40,000. What's the point of sitting down for an hour with the designer to revise the plans when they are going to just throw them away??\r \r Not to mention we had to call the company two-three times a day every day for two weeks to get the deposit of $2,000 they promised us for our HOA and GO FIGURE we ended up just paying it with our own money because they gave us the run around and I was SICK OF IT!!\r \r I do not and will not recommend this company to anyone. The actual guys who come out and do the work are very nice, very helpful, and do a great job. But the people in charge at the main office are RUDE, extremely RUDE (especially the lady at the front desk) and my husband and I have hated working with them. more

Great pool good price.\r \r 3-16-13 Called Desert Springs Pools for quote on \r 3-28-13The first available day to come to our house for a preliminary quote was not until March 28.\r 3-28-13 The pool designer was about an hour late but called to explain at the time the appointment was scheduled.\r 4-2-13 Met at their design center to see virtual designs . We were given a quote comparable to blue haven pools and vintage pools but they were giving us MORE. (We had also called out prestige pools but the owner took two weeks to get back to us and we had gotten 3 quotes and already signed with Desert Springs.) We liked Desert Springs design the best and were getting more decking and a 83 perimeter pool that was 476 sq ft total. It was larger pool than the other quotes. Desert Springs started with a 40k price and dropped it down to 33k with their incentives. We did a similar pool with them in 2009 for 25k and was able to get a deeper discount on this pool which brought that$33k price to $28k. I asked the pool designer to send me digital copies of various screen shots of the pool plan. I did not get these shots any time soon and had to ask multiple times. The contract had an estimated START date of 4-22-13 and COMPLETION date of 5-30-13.\r \r And so it begins:\r 4-18-13 Sprayed out pool.\r 4-26-13 Bulldozer was delivered Friday. \r 4/29 & 4/30 Dug pool Monday/Tuesday (Moving along rather quickly :)\r 5/1 to 5/3/13 Equipment, steel, electrical (Moving along rather quickly :)\r 5-16-13 Gunite (Moving along rather quickly :). I noticed two umbrella sleeves and an irrigation sleeve were missing. I reminded the company and even sprayed a reminder on the ground to make sure they were included and to prevent a mistake. I was not at home during most of the pool construction. \r 5-18-13 Tile (Felt like a long delay time for next step)\r 5-31-13 Concrete decking \r 6-10-13 cool deck\r 6-12-13 block wall. (Block wall guys noticed a mistake, the company was going to install my old gate instead of the rv gates in the contract, this was corrected before mistake was made, almost immediately.\r 6-13-13 gate part 1\r 6-14-13 gate part 2\r 6-18-13inspection\r 6-19-13 pool clean out\r 6-20-13 plaster\r 6-22-13 start up\r Completion date was 3 weeks longer than expected but pretty close and they did not add any extra fees.\r \r Bummer, that the designer was flakey this time around. I could not really get help from the designer once pool docs were signed. Some other people assisted me in the show room with tile and decking. Some were helpful others not so helpful. If you are inexperienced with design and pools I HIGHLY suggest making the designer help you pick out you tile, decking, plaster/pebbletek, and cool decking before you even talk prices. Then talk price and sign docs. There is no reason to make multiple trips down to pick out all that out later and they are so busy its hard to get real design help later down the road. Terri, who does scheduling is quite helpful and will even text you back quickly.\r \r In the process I noticed a few umbrella sleeves missing. I was concerned they would forget to add them when pouring concrete so I spray painted a reminder on the dirt in my backyard and they fixed the situation the day they poured. \r \r I had a hard time finding the alarms for all my windows and doors (I needed 15). Desert springs told me I could buy them at Home Depot. No luck. I spent a few hours several days in a row trying to find the correct alarms. ( I suggest making them provide them in your pool quote.) I finally found the alarms for$20 each at Leslie's pool supply and they cannot be returned.\r \r FYI The alarms have to be 110 decibels and cannot have an on/off switch on the outside of it. That makes finding the correct type a little challenging. My alarms are techko safe pool model s187d. more

Desert Springs built my pool-- for the money I spent, I would have expected good service. My pool started having an ugly rust that protruded thru the plaster on its 2nd year-- they fixed it but rust came back again 2 years later. When I called them, I couldn't get anyone! They passed me from one person to the other, then to their renovation dept, etc. One person was kind enough to call back and came o check the problem. I reiterated that the problem was a ""construction defect"" which they attempted to fix or patch 2x. 3 weeks later after not hearing bak from them, I was told the warranty has expired. If they have fixed it right the first 2x, and not wait for warranty to expire, I shouldn't be facing this problem! And they also now tell me they are so busy they don't have anyone to fix the problem! I'm talking about a rust so big it has destroying the pool. \r (Since it is a structural defect, I'm getting my ducks in row and getting legal help!) more

Last week Desert Springs Landscaping came in and removed my entire backyard in two days, those guys work hard. Once we had everything ripped out it was time to install the new Desert yard put in. I contracted these guys to build my pool and landscaping. After 6 months of construction I probably have the nicest backyard in Vegas. They built a 10 ft x 20 rock water feature with a slide, fire bowls, fire pits, high pressure mist system and a landscape that's looks like the mirage. rob and his crews did a great job, not sure any other company's in town could do everything I asked. more

In early March we started shopping for a pool. We had Anthony Sylvan, Poolscapes and Desert Springs all come out and bid on our backyard. After the initial drawings we rules out Anthony. Both Desert Springs and Poolscapes came back with wonderful drawings. After multiple revisions we ended up going with Desert. Not that Poolscapes was bad, we just liked that Desert has been in buiseness over 15 years. We just finished the project and everything turned out perfect. We also had our landscasping done by Jason Jolfs from Desert Springs Landscaping and his ideas turned out better than I expected. Thanks to all of Desert Springs. more

Had a horrible experience with Desert Springs Renovations. Our pool consultant did not return phone calls, or care about getting our renovation completed. He was over an hour late to our scheduled appointment in his showroom when we were scheduled to select materials and make our deposit. Half way through we were told the materials needed were 2-3 weeks out on order....we gave them a deposit two weeks prior and materials were not ordered then. Multiple days they would not show up on time or not show up at all. They showed up 2 hrs late one day and had to sit around doing nothing for over an hour because they brought the wrong materials. Would not recommend Desert Springs Renovations due to their lack of communication, organization, pride, or customer service. more

Desert Springs was one of four pool builders/designs that we went to for quotes on building our pool in Red Rock Country Club. Their prices was competitive. Not the lowest. Overweighting price was their attitude. They were completely focused on giving us what WE wanted and not some vision that they deemed design worthy. Even changes that were post-permit approval were not a problem. And, we had a few. They kept us informed during every step of the process. They coordinated every phase of the project. They completed the pool and the landscaping [Desert Springs Landscaping] on time. There were no budget over runs and they completed all the work at the contract price. And, I should add, all of the subcontractors were professional and reliable. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Desert Springs Pools and Spas. more

After having several bids to construct my first pool, found Desert Springs to be the best all around for what was a simple turn-key operation where I did not have to do anything. They kept me completely informed about each step and even processed my request through the HOA. Would recommend them to EVERYONE. more

Everyone at Desert Springs was very helpful throughout the process. Construction can be overwhelming but these guys made it super easy. They even dealt with my HOA for me, which was helpful as I didn't want to go through the approval process. My pool is amazing and I couldn't imagine my backyard without it... They have their own landscaping company in house which is extremely convenient, Desert Springs totally redid my entire backyard...They even built my outdoor kitchen area for me!!! Will def be going with them for my next pool and would highly recommend.. more

Timely, knowledgeable, and fairly priced…these are the words that come to mind when describing my experience with Desert Springs Pools!  After comparing with all other contractors in town we went with Desert Springs because of the personal touch.  Anytime I had a question I called and it was answered promptly.  I’m amazed at how hassle free the entire process was, truly couldn’t have been any easier.  Would def recommend this company, and will assuredly go with them for my next pool… more

From start to finish we were treated excellent by everyone we dealt with. They did an outstanding job of making our ideas reality, we even got to see our pool on a 3D program. Our pool turned out amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better backyard. Very convenient to have a landscaping company in the same office, their work also turned out better than we could have expected. more

I LOVE THE DESERT SPRINGS GROUP ! What a fantastic experience ! You guys gave my family our ultimate back yard ! The pool, spa and grotto are amazing, we love the picnic area with the outside kitchen ! This has been a DREAM come true ! From the moment Desert Springs Pools helped us design our back yard in 3-D format, we knew we were going to love it. The kids will have sooooo many years of enjoyment, and glad they will be getting the exercise they need, as well as making them soooo tired, it gives mom & dad ""our"" time at nights in the spa ! \r Desert Springs Pools did not miss a single detail, from the fire-pit on the pools rim to the palms shading the shallow end, to swimming under the water-fall, we especially love the Palapas, it really makes our home feel like an oasis ! Who needs to go on vacation, when you can invite all the friends & family over to our oasis now !?! \r We researched the rest, and hired the BEST ! So glad we did, and would recommend everyone gives these guys a chance to make your dreamscape a reality tooo !\r more

Stay away!!!! Worst service ever. A month after the job is paid for in full and no final inspection, requests for fixes to the work are ignored.\r Job was 2 months past due. Every problem that was brought up during construction was basically ingnored. If you are stupid enough to use them. Do not sign their contract!!! Amend it to fit your design and timeline. They are working for you make them do it on your terms. more
