We have bought several appliances from Depew Appliances and our experience with them has been great. They are professional and informative and listened to my needs to help me get exactly what I wanted. Their prices are competitive, AND, they service what they sell, not like Lowe's or Home Depot. I would recommend Depew Appliance to my family as well as my friends. more

I love this place! Nice to see these days that a family business still exists. I called for a service call and they came out promptly, but due to the age of my refrigerator, it was not really worth the repair. The service guy was quite polite and very informative. more

Depew Appliance has been out to our home three times this past year and they have extremely knowledgeable repairmen. The have always been right on target when it comes to problem solving and they are very prompt and professional. They fixed a problem with a refrigerator that even had the manufacturer was stumped. more

We have purchased a refrigerator, washer/dryer and dishwasher from DePew and have nothing bad to say. The salespeople are friendly and honest, it has been easy to work with them to get supplies (water filter for fridge) and they sent someone quickly for a repair on dishwasher and had it covered by warranty so no service charge. The repairman was helpful and had good advice on washer to help maintain it better when he saw we had baby and were needing to make sure it santiized well and stayed clean. We love their Fisher/Paykel supply and will use them for all purchases. Pros: Local business, good brands, fast service more

I like others on this review have never written a completely negative review on any service or company, but, wow...Depew Appliance is the WORST. I bought a refrig there a year and a half ago because I needed a very small, hard to find model to fit my space. I was having a $30k kitchen redo at the time, and I paid 1/2 up front, then never received any bill from Depew. I frankly forgot about the deal and know one at Depew every followed up by phone or mail until Over a YEAR had passed. The salesman Kenneth accused me on the phone of lying and avoiding my bill. Shocked I told him I would check my records and call him back. Within 10 minutes the owner Mike Depew pulled up to my house! Threatening me if I didn't pay him right there and then. It was like something out of a scene from a "hit man" type movie where the big guy comes over to a guy's house to "lean" on him to pay off his gambling debt! I'm not embellishing any of this! When I pointed out that it's been over a year since I bought the refrig, Mike just said "yeah yeah yeah...give me my money...you owe us." STAY AWAY FROM DEPEW APPLIANCE. I was impressed with the staff's product knowledge and their ability to assess my needs. Delivery and installation were courteous and professional. I had to call the following week for service to adjust the door for better closure, this was done timely and efficiently. I've been sourcing odd appliance parts from them for years and generally they have the parts on hand. There's a lot to be said for sourcing parts locally. The pricing is above internet but that's worth it if I can get the repair done the same day. Pros: Excellent parts counter more

These guys were called in to repair my refrigerator. I got their name as an authorized repair agent from maytag. I wish I had checked this forum before calling them. Any way, they came in and listed a few parts to replace. I asked whether, if I do this, will the problem (not cooling enough) will go away. They assured me it will.I agreed for the $400 fix. It took him 10 minutes to fix, though $225 was for labor. What a rip off. I still thought it is OK because the man might know his work and finished it fast. It worked for few days. After that we were back to square one. After paying $400 nothing is fixed. Then their true character came out. They gave me a run around for a month. After that they said should be paid for coming and checking on the work they did not finish in the first place. Their customersservice yelled and cursed at me. How could I spend more money on them when they did not fix the problem in the first place. I called another local place. They fixed the issue for $135 i more

I have been a customer of Depew Appliance for many years. I recently purchased an Electroluxe Washer and Dryer from them. I was thrilled with the service and knowledge of their staff. They were extremely helpful in helping me choose the right washer and dryer for my family. I have had them out to my house several times for repairs on other appliances and have always found them to be honest and professional. I would recommend them to anyone for any appliance or repair you may need. Pros: Locally owned and great customer service more

This company was pathetic. The initial service call went well, the issue with our microwave was diagnosed. It fell apart from there.... all over a simple 4amp fuse. I was told there would be a phone call with an estimate for the part and then they would come back to install. We're talking a simple 4amp fuse - easy to carry these around in the truck. Nevertheless, with a 2 month year old and needing our microwave fixed (we use it to heat up water to put bottles in) they left us sitting for 3 days. I called on the 4th day and they said they hadn't found the part. What a joke. I found it in 5 minutes, ordered it within 10 and installed it the next day myself. They were unresponsive on the phone and acted like it was no big deal. Screw them. Don't do business with these jerks. more

Did not bring what they were supposed to and said to me, "it's not on my invoice. The owner(who took the call) takes a hundred calls a day and wouldn't remember if we ordered the part or not."\r The service man was very defensive and had some excuse or comeback to everything I said.\r If you want someone to ruin your day, call these guys. more

I stupidly paid more for my appliance because of their "we service what we sell" gimmick. Boy was I stupid. I had a problem within the first week and then they couldn't come out until four days later, and the man I talked with acted as if it was an inconvience for him. Three months, five service calls and two no shows later, my dishwasher was still broken. Maytag finally agreed to buy it back. I bought another dishwasher from another locally owned store a mile away and got the best customer service I have ever had (A&A Appliance). Want to buy local? Depew has to be the worst. Thier customer service is rude and it seems like they go out of thier way to be rude and un-helpful. I cant believe they are still in business. After my bad experience with them, I started reading reviews and found out everyone says the same thing. Just search the web for reviews of Depew and you will see that my experience was not unique. They are simply rude and disshonest people. After I had to cancel a part order, they would not help and just kept saying NO returns, NO returns... I was willing to pay restocking fee, and any costs they incurred, but they just got more combative. I asked for the owner or manager, and was shocked to learn that the person I was talking to was the owner. STAY AWAY. Any business run by a person like that should be avoided! This is the first time I have ever been upset enough to post a bad review. Took our dryer for repair. First of all, they charge $55 just to take a look at it. Then they were supposed to call with an estimate and didn't. Knowing my husband was wearing an air cast on his elbow, they never offered their service to pick up and drop off for repairs - we overheard someone on the phone setting this up. $160 later and two trips back b/c it didn't work, they now refuse to do anything further. After the first repair, they admitted there was loose wiring that hadn't been connected properly. After the second repair, they didn't put the lid on correctly and it flew off driving home on Burnet. We have paid them, the dryer still doesn't work and they refuse to fix it. The owner's son is totally rude and doesn't care about customer service in any way. I don't know if the owner is retired or what but his son is a extremely bad mannered and offensive. For what we would pay someone else to fix it plus what we have paid Depew, we could have bought a new dryer. Pros: None Cons: Deplorabel customer service, poor repair department more

I called re/ an emergency. They said that they wouldn't be able to come out until the next day. I told them that I really needed it done today, so I was going to call some other places. A minute later, they called me back to say they had a couple cancellations, and they could make it out that afternoon. They didn't show up. They called back this morning to say they ran into a some delays. They told me they could make it out this afternoon--which coincidentally is when they initially said they could come out. I think they lied to me so I wouldn't call one of the other places! more

Last week my washing machine overflowed and flooded the downstairs. Depew was able to come out 3 days later but the repairman couldn't find anything wrong. He said he thought it was because the machine was not level, and charged $89. Then today it flooded again. We called for emergency help and of course they couldn't fit us in their schedule. Not my idea of a "service" company since they clearly can't provide any. Pros: none Cons: can't do the job more
