I don't really understand why people keep talking about spending over $6,000? I didn't need to have a lot of correction done (vision was -1.50 for each eye) but my pricing was no where near that much. They offer a bunch of savings. If you actually listen to what they have to say they tell you exactly where your money is going. Apparently some of you don't understand that insurance doesn't pay for lasik. I have to say that personally, I had a really great experience with the whole process. They have you meet with someone first to go over what is involved with the lasik and then you can pay for your testing for that day. The lasik scheduler I met with (Margi) was really wonderful. I was nervous about the process because I didn't and still don't like people touching my eyes, and she never once minded that I was asking her a million and one questions. It was truly refreshing going to a doctor's office where every single person I encountered was kind. Even employees just walking through the waiting room would say hello! The office in Lake Mary reminds me of walking through a really modern hotel. I don't know if she still works there, but I have to say, on the day of my surgery there is one lady who will make you laugh so much. By the time I got back to the surgery area I completely forgot about my nerves. If you ever go there, look out for the little Scottish lady with white hair! :) more

The best thing I have ever done for myself is having LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Konrad Filutowski and the Filutowski Cataract & LASIK Institute. My LASIK procedure took less than 10 minutes and, surprisingly, didn't hurt at all. I could see immediately after the procedure, and am to this date 20/20 and better. It is truly amazing to have the choice of vision freedom . Being rid off glasses and contact lenses is an absolutely fantastic feeling. Knowing that I won't need to look for my glasses or contact lenses ever again is great!!! Doctor Filutowski is the best and most caring LASIK doctor in Orlando. There simply is nobody better than he is. LASIK changed my life and lifestyle, I feel like a teenager again, after wearing glasses for 20+ years. If you want the best for you and your eyes, go to Doctor Filutowski because he's the best LASIK surgeon in Orlando. I have been recommending LASIK and Dr. Filutowski to my friends and family. I won't recommend Filutowski to anyone. I had my eyes fixed 3 times by Demsey and my vision is still not 20/20 but blurry on most evening and during the day . And I still get charged $101 for follow up visit on top of $5,500.00 that I paid upfront. really Sucks!!! \r My friend had her eyes done at a different place and they did much better. She never had to return for touch up and it costs two thousand dollars less. I would say Filutowski is really sucks !!! more

I will not return. They had intern kids working while no doctor was insight. Doctor was cranky when she came in and was blunt and not detailed. Waste of a co-pay. Go elsewhere! Pros: reception worker was pleasant. Cons: Waiting, interns free lancing without doctor supervision more

I did a lot of research to find the best Dr. in Central Florida, and came to find that Filutowski was (in my opinion) the most respected and successful at Lasik. As to the pricing...it can be a bit more than other places, however Im not interested in taking any chances on my eyes with someone that has less experiance or lesser equipment. You only get one pair of eyes....with Lasik you better not take a short cut! We arent talking about buying a phone, a computer, or even a car which may only be with you a handful of yrs. but you will use your eyes until you die! In response to the bed side manners, let me just say that Dr. Filutowski was very polite but not very talkative during my procedure...which was fine with me! Id rather have him focusing on my eyes and not on being polite. He took a cool picture with me after surgery and was very nice. When you go for a consultation you must go to the Metro West Location and ask for Amie Mackel (not sure of the spelling). She was such a wonderful person to deal with and made me feel very comfortable with everything. I had an amazing experiance at Filutowski Cataract & Lasik Institute. I only have one regret and that is that I didn't do it sooner! Good luck...hope your experiance is as good as mine! Pros: Excellence in surgical Proceedures and a wonderful staff Cons: Can be more costly than other Doctors more

His bedside manner might be lacking, but his work is great. Given the choice, that is what the customer needs. It is far worse to have a surgeon that has a excellent bedside manner and is lacking in surgical skills. If you are looking for a friend, get a dog. If you want your eyesught back, use Filutowski! At Filutowski you meet the sweetest, friendliest staff in Central Florida. They keep smiling while they show you the different options you have .. while they discuss prices with you .. while they examine you for your surgery. They rush rush rush to get your first eye done .. you wait wait wait to get your second one done. \r \r Dr. Filitowski is a great surgeon but you will NEVER speak to him. Not before your surgery, not after your surgery. \r \r Need an adjustment because the result in one eye is different than the other ? It's gonna cost you because it is NOT their fault. \r \r He could be one of the best surgeons on the planet .. but if you want someone to be concerned that you aren't very happy .. go some place else. Pros: Great Surgeon Cons: Not concerned with my concerns more

If you are thinking of getting LASIK, see all alternatives in the area, then see Filutowski. There are a number of well qualified Doctors in the area, that are not in the $6,000+ range. Please research all the hype of high-definition compared to standard, as it may only be needed for 'higher order aberrations' As you leave after the free consultation, they want to schedule you for an exam, where they say $100 will be for operating procedure room hold-time. If you compare LASIK facilities in the area, go here last. Definately gather as much data as you can, and ask many questions. I believe you are paying for marble, brass, fancy furniture, and a brand name eyeball, where nearly half a dozen other facilities can perform an equally perfect surgery. more

Seriously. You will find yourself agreeing to the procedure, paying a deposit and making an appointment without ever meeting the doctor. They will even have you sign a paper stating that you met the doctor. When I had time to actually think it over and change my mind, I could not get the $100 deposit back. If you take advantage of the financing they offer, they will charge you a $150 service fee. more
